The thing is 50 is the last of a dying breed of real gangsters to come into the music industry. He understood that when he came into the music business, all that hustling and shit, had to stop. Everything he did going forward was self defense because his bag depended on it. If he sold drugs or dropped a bag to get someone up outta here, it would be over for him.
Compare that to the new generation. They come into the game as nobodies. When they get some money and start popping with music, THEN they turn into gangsters. The definition of hustling backwards. Its EASY to play gangster when you got millions of dollars. Super easy. All you gotta do is point someone out, drop a bag, and it is over with. That's why 50 is the last of his kind in the music business. Because he got into it being a gangster and hustler and got out of it, but as he came in like that, he never was no punk either.

Initially? He was someone he looked up to. 50's mentor was Black Just who was literally close working for Preme. Another one of Preme's top guys was Bimmy and Bimmy was also someone that really liked 50. 50 was cool with a lot of them cats around Preme initially. It started to get ugly with the Ja Rule beef. 50 didn't feel wanted and felt somewhat betrayed by Supreme while Preme felt like 50 was a threat that started to mess both with his money and his street status. Preme shot him 9 times over that. Rest is history.
