1:20 in and I already gave it a thumbs up. I've never seen any other MTB UA-camrs discuss which gear is appropriate for a specific climb. Very under-discussed topic. Thanks Eric!
Porter, you deserve so many more subscribers. Your experience, attitude and sense of calmness are inspiring. Your ability to explain the subject for others to understand is appreciated. Keep it up and thank you.
This videos awesome! I think you’re the first person I’ve seen talk about how to approach and tackle this trail and the skills you need to make it through. I hope you can do more like this!
Thanks Eric, this one has been on my list for a couple of years. I’ve done the other two “H’s”. But before I ride Hangover I wanted to ride with someone who’s ridden it before, so this video is incredibly helpful.
Great video! I appreciate the attention to detail with what equipment and techniques you use. I didn’t know that about the different tire tread. Looking forward to the next one!
Wish I had this before I rode the trail! Very intimidated by the last roll and you hit the nail on the head about sorting out your brake modulation before attempting. I found that focusing on the front brake helped me modulate a lot on the roll. Keep up the great work!
So STOKED to have ridden with Eric last week in Sedona, nicest guy I've ever met. Didn't have the balls for hangover, maybe next year! Good call on the DH casings Sedona rocks are no joke!
you articulated everything really well. I'd argue that the tight turn and then "notch" that comes right after the roll down/ledges at the end of your video is pretty hard and really high consequence too. (there's a narrow sliver of a rock in the middle of a notch with a step down, easy to catch a wheel in-between those rocks)
Totally agree on that notch, it definitely takes people out, wish we hadn't run out of light. Glad you enjoyed the video, hopefully it helps some people figure out the trail!
Good Job Highlighting the technical parts of the trail! Too bad you didn't have more daylight to film more. As a local, this trail still intimidates me, even though I've cleaned all the sections before. It was great meeting you at Sedona MTB Fest!
hey Eric pls reply to this I have a really important question, I am looking to get some Renthal fat bar carbon bars but it asks this question for the stem size, my stem looks the same size as yours but what size is yours. the question options are (31.8mm or 35mm) so out of those 2 which one do u have???
Hi Eric idk if you remember me I met you at Sedona MTB festival I was with my brother and you talked to us about bike packing and about how milo started a film a class. I was wondering if I could have a shout out but it’s ok if you don’t but this is my channel and it would be an honor for you to check it out!

Happy to help! I watched a few videos of the trail and didn't see anything explaining it like this, so I thought this would be helpful!
FIRST! But glad I wasn't first on this trail - it looks rowdy! Can't wait to ride trails with you again!! (or trials...just sayin')
Can't wait to get out riding with you again!!

Amazing views!
It's areas like this that make the US one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
It is pretty unreal here, so much variety in the landscape. I do love traveling to other countries as well though!

Great overview of the trail! I'm bummed I didn't get to hit Hangover this year at the Sedona MTB Fest but I'll definitely tackle it next time!
Thanks! Definitely put it on your list for next time!
Thanks Eric, this one has been on my list for a couple of years. I’ve done the other two “H’s”. But before I ride Hangover I wanted to ride with someone who’s ridden it before, so this video is incredibly helpful.
Happy to help! If you've ridden those trails you should be able to tackle this one just fine!
Great video! I appreciate the attention to detail with what equipment and techniques you use. I didn’t know that about the different tire tread. Looking forward to the next one!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks!!

Yeah that's the key!! It is intimidating, but it works!
So STOKED to have ridden with Eric last week in Sedona, nicest guy I've ever met. Didn't have the balls for hangover, maybe next year! Good call on the DH casings Sedona rocks are no joke!
Great riding with you as well!! Hangover definitely takes a while to get ready for, you'll get there though if you want to!

This was an awesome video, please do more instructionables like this. (Selfishly I love Sedona for your subject matter as i live in Flagstaff)
Good to hear! I'd love to ride Flagstaff sometime, heard it's fun!
Good Job Highlighting the technical parts of the trail! Too bad you didn't have more daylight to film more. As a local, this trail still intimidates me, even though I've cleaned all the sections before. It was great meeting you at Sedona MTB Fest!
Haha I know, the sun went down so fast! Great to meet you as well!

We're shooting a backyard video this week, finally doing the waterslides!
Thank u brother 🙏
can you post more your videos are awesome
I'm trying to, every other week is my goal, I usually get pretty close!
Nice riding man! That trail looks nasty, a little above my payrate! Lol
Haha yeah, it's got some difficult moves, so fun though!
Expando foam work's good in the tires cactus be damed
hey Eric pls reply to this I have a really important question, I am looking to get some Renthal fat bar carbon bars but it asks this question for the stem size, my stem looks the same size as yours but what size is yours. the question options are (31.8mm or 35mm) so out of those 2 which one do u have???
I have 35mm bars, hard to know what you have though, you would need to measure the diameter of the handlebar where it clamps in your stem.
Come to Rupert Idaho and do a jump demo east minico middle School
That would be fun!
What is your fav brake pad for the mt7 pro?
I use the Performance pads, they are a good mix of power and modulation. The Race pads are a bit too grabby for me, most of the time.
@@PorterMTB thnx!
Wow the exposure 😬
Yeah you have to bring your "A" game to this trail!
Lohoo only forward
I want to do that
So bad
I hope you get to, it's really fun!
Watch out for big snakes they will get in the rims
it’s insane to me that you can ride while talking and walking us through it
Haha thanks, I've ridden the trail a lot so it's not too bad for me!
Hi Eric idk if you remember me I met you at Sedona MTB festival I was with my brother and you talked to us about bike packing and about how milo started a film a class. I was wondering if I could have a shout out but it’s ok if you don’t but this is my channel and it would be an honor for you to check it out!
What's up! Of course I remember! Great to meet you, hope to see you at the next one and get out for a ride!
I’m not sure why you would put your life on the line for a bike ride but it’s not me doing it so have at it!!
I think when you have the experience and manage the risk well, it's not actually too dangerous, but it's definitely not for everyone!
Summer riding you will meat some rattlesnake be careful
Yeah no thanks on the rattlesnakes!
Great video, but hell no!!!
Haha yeah it's definitely not a trail for everyone!
Expando foam work's good in the tires cactus be damed
Haha I'd love to see how that works!
