Elektra Records ha alquilado el Aquarius Theatre a bajo costo para una serie de "Dark Mondays" durante la ejecución de Hair con el fin de producir una serie asequible de conciertos para resaltar la lista de talentos de Elektra. The doors musical alchemy endures, even to this day.
Unfortunately, that alchemy mostly ended when Morrison died. The remaining trio endured for a couple more albums, but fractured over retaining the Doors name with a different front man. Densmore saw such an idea as the abomination it was, while Manzarek and Krieger sought to capitalize on the original band's name cache. It was a terrible notion, leaving little but acrimony, including to Morrison's parents. The only thing long term drug use leads to is devastation.

Doors opened up my mind to other music and he did this by pure theatre which some don't get, and the Man who gave us this was a true poet, the power of his voice, can take you wherever ;)

Probably about 2005 my eldest son 25 years old started telling me about some music that he had been listening to,saying that I would like it when it became apparent that he had/ was listening to the Doors,when I told him how Jim had died aged 27 and basically where and how to say he was up set was an understatement but also said is there any music that I have not heard! My only answer was. ‘I was lucky enough to be alive listening to music going to gigs when there was something worth listening to’ followed by the usual criticism about the lack of proper talent in the music industry about the complete rubbish of so called talent shows encouraging people who have no idea about how to make it happen you know the usual. I’m 70 years old in2023 been‘good time’s BAD times I’ve been up been down with my ear down to the ground,I still want the World and I don’t think I’ve ever been so desperate.so when the music over turn off the lights my special friend,who are you I need to know NOW????…

Great Doors channel. Of course if you saw the Doors live you knew how special they were. First group I remember that put music, theatre and poetry in one special experience. Doors fan forever ever. Thank you very much.
When I saw em in '68, I was only 14, butI was enjoying a wealth of great concerts, starting with Hendrix and Soft Machine, then Jefferson Airplane, Zappa--Mothers, Zephyr, Jethro Tull, Steve Miller band, and more I may have forgotten... Arthur Brown Crazy world of, Sweetwater, etc. But apart from Hendrix, the most memorable was the Doors... Morrison and band were amazing, and most incongruous opening act was the cheerful Sunshine Company! Kind of like Hendrix opening for the Monkees, in reverse!.. It was'68 after all!..
And an adolescent kid like.my friends and I could easily afford a concert ticket on a five dollar allowance, with all enough left over for a matchbox of pot, or barring that, some popcorn and a coke Life was good!(and cheap!..
This performance was three days after the release of The Soft Parade, which has recently become my personal favorite of The Doors.
The soft parade i really feel is hands down their best song ever written.. without the first 3 minutes this could have easily been their greatest hit of all time

I like the live stuff. A scene in the video made me think about something said about Jim. Even after he bought a car in L.A. he still would hitchhike around so he could meet and talk to new people.
