Good job! I had never heard of copper beech. It looks beautiful but heavy!

      thanks!
I've never heard of it either ... but it made for some really nice material. definitely heavy!

When you say 450 sq ft did you mean board feet? Regardless thats a ton of lumber out of one log. I've only ever run a Mobile dimension mill and an lt28, so that wide mill seems to handle a pretty big log in comparison to the lt28.

I was assuming it was sqft at 4/4. Which is the same thing… right?
Either way the log yielded a lot of lumber! I’m going to use it for our flooring in some places.
The LT15 wide has been great. Only thing I wish I had was the debarker… my logs end up with mud or dirt all the time. Washing it off takes a lot of time so a debarker would be great.
The cantilever design of the 28 is pretty nice how your width of cut isn’t as wide but is a nice mill as well.

@ProfessionalHomeowner ya it would be. The lt28 can't support a debarker either. I guess the lt15 wide classic can if you run off electric. But seems they don't offer it in north america. I used to use a log wizard on a chainsaw to help with dirty logs but it also takes quite a bit of time.
The cantilevered head can definitely help with logs that are curved or fluted. But they can be very hard to turn and clamp. Clamping is strong but pretty awkward at times on the 28. The one i was running had 18 hp and started to struggle at around 20" cut. But I think in part because of the head bearings in the mast being a bit worn and that caused the head to kind of saw back and forth with the blade and vibrate. Ever since running that mill I've been looking to buy one but no luck. I was always looking for lt28s or bigger because i liked the welded frames. But it seems like yours is tough too.
