I never heard of anybody cutting countertops before. Everyone seems to be after River run table tops. It certainly is a nice piece of wood. Unbelievably good really. Stay safe God bless. 🇨🇦✌️
Wow ! that is an awesome piece of wood, wish I was closer to get my hands on some of that :) I see you have a few beautiful big ones dry piled there, great videos keep them coming :)
You lifted the large end? So the center is 14 inches above the rail on the small end and 18 inches above the rail on the big end? Ah !! Got it. Camera trickery. The lift is at the small end. Been on a saw or hammer for 60 years,, never seen a white oak like that. Beautiful.
@@LuckyNelsonsSawmill mostly spruce and Birch. But I’ve cut some cottonwood as well, just not a lot you can do with cottonwood, the big birch have like a rose pattern on the base, the bigger the pattern the more beautiful dark grain, but as far as hardwood that’s it
Why send that gorgeous white oak crashing onto the hydraulic arms just to be damaged? Why not put the fork right next to the mill and then move it right over?
Beautiful grain character in that log! I could look at hardwood grains all day! Add a little stain, and watch the figuring pop! Great job!
I know this white oak had some pretty unique grain, but then again all logs do don’t they!
@Lucky Nelson’s Sawmill Yes indeed! No two grains alike!
Lovely superb Nice sawing of timber.
Thank you!
That log was beautiful. I love the sound of the saw.
It was wasn’t it!!

Yes we’ve been doing a lot of countertops which I do enjoy. It’s typically just 1 piece such as an island or a set of cabinets off to the side.
Very nice log and cutting, good video.
Thank you! The grain was pretty unique too!

Amazing log infeed cutting
hi there nice looking slabs , well done ,john
Thanks 👍
Great video
Thank you!
The log was absolutely beautiful. I’d have recommended putting a couple coats of Anchor Seal on it b4 you cut it and 1 after to minimize the checking.

How much would a log like that be worth?
This video is more about the music than cutting wood

Why do people HAVE to put STUPID MUSIC in their videos. SO FREAKING IRRITATING.
Nelson, annoying and loud music is a hard sale ! Loose the music
Does not make any sense
Lose the crap music.
