Could I weld the drain plug threads on this type of yz? I have an 01 and a magnet sticks to the bottom end like it’s steel? I stripped my drain plug and have a slight drip now.
I have Honda CB250 once and a guy pry the rotor case to split it from crankcase, it ruin the flat surface and leave deep marks. and I have to deal with oil leak forever until I decide to sell the bike. hope your cases flat surface join still good and doesn't faced problem like me 🍻
I can't put a link on here, but you should google JIS bits for working on japanese motorcycles. Look for the article on webbikeworld. You will be amazed at the difference!
Ahhh! I did some googling on them. I could see where those could help alot, especially when working on other models that have more Phillips style heads like the TTRs...it can be tough to find a driver that fits well. I appreciate the tip Larry!
Thank you for taking the time to share this video!! I bought a yz250 and it blew up second ride. Fast forward a month, I bought all the fancy tools (Case splitter, flywheel puller, blah blah blah) now im jumping in head first. I’m very mechanical when it comes to cars. (Motor swaps, turbo systems, blah blah) however not much experience when it comes to splitting cases. I couldn’t bare the thought of paying someone to do it every time (I beat on my machines lol). Anyways thanks again for the video and I was wondering what’s the best way to contact you for some quick tips or things I should be mindful of as I embark on this journey. :)

NICE! Don't have to remove the trans to do a crank R&R.
What case splitter did you use?
That's a motion pro
