In HELL, imps are the lowest of the low in society, but what happens when one starts an assassin business? This happens!
Follow Blitzo (the 'o' is silent) as he attempts to run a startup killing company in a very competitive market, along with his weapons specialist Moxxie, his powerhouse Millie, and his receptionist hellhound Loona. With the help of an ancient book obtained by one of the princes of Hell, they manage to make their work possible and together they attempt to survive each other while trying to keep their business afloat.

I disagree, I found this and Hazbin both incredibly funny and entertaining. However I get its not for everyone, and respect your opinion. ISN'T THAT CRAZY HOW PEOPLE CAN HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS AND NOT BE PETTY OR MAD AT EACH OTHER FOR IT?! Anyway keep up the good work as always!

Didn’t Blitzø appear in Hazbin Hotel during the interview? Was it his lookalike? I see some minor differences between the two, but I can’t guarantee Blitzø attended Charlie’s interview along with that skull demon guy.

I think you think too much about the logic of swearing on hell, the main reason people don't swear all the time is not because it's not funny, it's because other people don't like it, in hell no one cares about no one, i think that's the point they try to express on those 2 shows.
So my school is worse than Hell? Because they swear more than these people.

@@sunnyshowers you're probably right, but maybe when you go to hell you start talking normally, maybe a emotinal swearing here and there, but after many years offending everyone around you its normal to do this all the time. Anyway, from the creators point they are probably gonna listen to all the feedback, i expect better things on ep2

The bigger diference between Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel pilots is the size of them.
While Hazbin Hotel had time to show how the characters interact whit each other on longer conversations and had enough time to build up jokes, Helluva Boss had to show what the characters are to each other on a more "quick" way, same for the comedy, showing flashbacks as the joke instead of them doing something exactly funny.
I’ve literally heard nothing but good things about this xP. Every reactor I’ve watched has either said it was pretty good or better than the original :3. Who’s saying it’s bad?

A lot of people apparently do have the same problem with being confused about the timeline. I personally didn't, but I understand why others do. I didn't see the jokes as mostly swearing, honestly most of the swearing sounded casual, I've heard my coworkers curse like that all the time. The humor is really more focused on dark jokes and jokes based on the characters' dynamics with one another, you could take out the swearing but it does fit the environment and tone and makes it more believable.
Moxxie is the funniest to me, his straight-man/only sane man reactions are hilarious!
I like the characters in Hazbin Hotel more, but I like the humor in this more

My theory is Blitzo adopted loona as a puppy and her behavior is due to his... not the best parenting
Based on the way he talks about her, I'm assuming his parenting was basically "giving her whatever she wants and never disciplining her".

It’s not unexpected if every other word is a swear word. I find unexpected swearing funny too but I agree that they’re overdoing it a tad bit with the swearing.

I was shocked to see some actual constructive criticism lol. That's rare these days
While I definitely see the Family Guy cutaway gags here I personally don't know if that's entirely meant to be the purpose of the show. A lot of it was gags but it was in many ways felt like a way to serve an entertaining way of providing exposition. Most of these flashbacks introduced and or showed character Dynamics and relationships that wouldn't necessarily be properly explained in the base plot of the meeting. Loona being Biltzo's adopted daughter, Moxxie and Millie's marriage, and the introduction of Stolas, for whom they acquired the ability to travel to the mortal realm, who likely wouldn't have been introduced in any organic manner outside of the flashback. Sure there was probably a better way to communicate all this information but I don't hold any of it against the pilot because I found it all too funny. My two favorite parts were the hospital scene after the jingle (like they totally made you think that that was something else entirely but then revealed it to be part of the commercial cause "da fuck") and Blitzo staring at Moxxie in bed. And yes the full "Oh Millie" song made me very happy.

Personally while watching this it reminded me sort of as the office but more focused in hell with the hints of dark humor and personally I liked this one more than HH (nothing against those who like that one more) also I like Brandon Rogers and Richard Steven Horvitz (the VA of Zim and Billy from the grim adventures of Billy and Mandy)
I dunno, me and my college friends definitely swear this much just day to day.

Personally I enjoyed this a bit more than Hazbin, though I can definitely see some of the flaws you pointed out. I liked it because I feel like we saw a lot more of the characters being themselves, and different sides to them (except Luna really).
In Hazbin they introduced a lot of characters, and yes we saw them in certain lights, but they were mainly one note for me.
Also I agree on the swearing. I'm fine with it in certain shows like Camp Camp, I feel like they do comedic swearing fairly well, but with shows like these they need to make them feel more natural
We actually do get a glimpse of a softer side for Loona - when Blitzo calls her family, she smiles to herself. It isn't much, but considering this is only a single episode, it's enough for me at this point. I'd be disappointed if she remained that way for the rest of the show, though.
yes thats such a perfect example!! the first time I watched Camp Camp, I cracked up whenever they cussed because it didn't feel so overdone and forced like a middle schooler's cartoon, it felt more natural and mature.
That being said, I do still love Hazbin Hotel & Helluva Boss even tho I think the dirty jokes/cussing is like way too much to the point where it feels forced.
honestly I found this funnier than Hazbin Hotel and enjoyed it more overall (though I did like HH too). I thought Hazbin Hotel had a more divisive opinion among the viewers (and no, not counting the opinions and hate based on the controversy surrounding Vivzie)

@@theenthusiast6523 When Viv was, in her words, a stupid teenager, she made some not so family friendly drawings and people have never let her live it down despite her being 16 when it happened (and despite other creators like Rebecca Sugar [no hate on her] making similar art).
You react a see what happens, that's the beauty of reactions. Those of us who already seen it can't capture that feeling After it's gone. So we others do it.

I've come to enjoy Helluva Boss more as I've seen people's reactions, but yeah, the first time I watched it, I had the same "WTF is THIS" reaction that my husband had to Hazbin Hotel - I flat out told him, "Ya know how you thought Hazbin was too fast for its own good? This is even more so!"

Love Helluva boss. ;) As for the swearing, If i was stuck in hell for all eternity, I would be swearing entire sentences. No limit to how bad one can be in Hell. I mean come on, I.M.P, Immediate Murder Professionals. They probably have companies their that focus on torturing. Love the Reviews, keep it up. ;)
a lot of people don't like the swearing because its voice acting, which means its not genuine and it just SOUNDS so forced. at least thats what I think. in live action movies made for adults, I get the same vibes. for really good actors, the cussing sounds so natural I don't even notice it, but for other actors, it just sounds so out of place and forced where I cringe.

Helluva boss is good and all but I feel like Hazbin Hotel has more potential with the characters and story while Helluva was more of a one time thing.

I really liked this show, my main problem was the dragged out bit of killing the kid. The flashbacks also were a little confusing. Luna I agree is kinda forgetable and nothing particularly special about her. Love moxie and millie though.

I really liked this, but I agree with you 100%. The timing was a bit off, the flashbacks dragged a little, and the pacing was all over the place. I still liked this just as much as Hazbin Hotel though. Great reaction too!

I think both shows work for their time frames. Hazbin is a great story-centric longform show, and Boss works best as little 10-minute rapid-fire sketches inbetween Hazbin stories.

I agree with the bits points. They’re definitely are times where I’m a little confused. I think the language is just a tad bit overdone as well. I like most of it but here and there there is quite a bit of it. I love the concept and idea of the show as well. I LOVE this show idea.. I mean if can love Steven Universe with its plethora of issues I can easily love this
i got into HB after watching hazbin on prime. i love both but HB has stolas and blitz who have captured my heart 4 all time. one of the reasons i enjoy HB is the adult humor. i'm not religious in any way and take no offense to swears, it's funny to me. so,i luv it hahaha

Different opinions for sure, I’ve seen some people like Helluva Boss waay more than Hazbin, and vise versa. And a... ‘helluva’ lot more opinions. Me personally, I think they nailed the humor and had more focus on characters than Hazbin Hotel, and anything that makes me laugh I like. Still might say I like Hazbin more? But idk, I rate them differently. I just know you should never like other people’s opinions alter your own. Enjoy it how you like

In my eyes beeing in hell is a ''good enough excuse for swearing constantly'' because,yes indeed not all bad people swear on earth, it isn't as normalized that everyone swears ON EARTH but in my eyes, it could be that it has been normalized IN HELL that everyone swears, you know, like its almost beeing treated as part of the language, and people that go from earth to hell, which didnt swear before, kind of addapt that swearing habbit in hell because everyone does it. Idk i dont think its meant to be funny, i'm a person that swears a lot and the swearing just goes over my head when i watch hazbin hotel or helluva boss, its not the funny part to me so i'm sometimes even suprised that people even notice the constant swearing when, like i said, its so normalized in the pilots? You know what's under reacted to? Epithet Erased and Joyride Entertainment's My Hero Academia Abridged. Also, a little detail that I never really see people talking about is the fact that when Blitzo says that "Loona is a valued member of our family", her expression softens into a smile, showing that she does appreciate his caring attitude.

I actually liked this more than Hazbin Hotel. I think it has better timing too, it reminds me of a lot of movies that I like. I like the swearing, I feel it's realistic coz I know a LOT of people who talk like that, specially in my country.
I know it may sound dumb but I feel like North Americans and Europeans see the world a lot more happy-go-lucky than it really is... that's good, it SHOULD be like that, but it's not, and the kind of people who end up in hell might do these things. (People complaining about the slurs and the misogyny as if they were done by "the good guys"? I think it will only be problematic if Charlie uses it) this is only my opinion btw.
