Most Disney villains have a strong presence in their movies, which is usually partly attributed to their overall competence. This makes them very active threats against the heroes. The same, however, cannot be said about the Disney henchmen. Though they can be as iconic as their respective villains, they can also be very incompetent.

Kronk isn't incompetent. He's just not evil enough for this line of work.

He’s a pretty redeemable villain henchman with some brains and brawn!
I think kronk just wants to help every person he meets but this makes him naive which leads him to end up helping the most evil people and he doesn't even realize it

Yep. And to top it off, Iago in the 2nd movie basically told Jafar to screw off and got out of there.
I think Iogo came up with the entire plan so he literally did everything for Jafar.
I always knew Iago is the single most effective Disney henchman ever.
That's why you know when he sings That's it I've had it I hate to be dramatic you know it's coming from something real.
He's not just complaining he's had it he did everything for Jafar and thanks he gets.

I mean was there any doubt that Iago would be on top. He’s literally the ONLY henchman on this list to think of a plan B. And this video didn’t even discuss his accomplishments in the sequels. As Iago said himself, Jafar is NOTHING without him.

The Hyenas and Kronk are also some more henchmen who belong in Treacherous. The Hyenas literally eat Scar alive in the end, and Kronk turns against Yzma.

When they said tie for Bronze, I thought they were gonna put Roscoe and Desoto from Oliver and Company with Flotsam and Jetsam. Why they forgot about the two dogs when they are about as competent as the two eels is beyond me

Joanna from The Rescuers Down Under is an interesting case, as she goes all around the first three categories. At her best, she's a tenacious brute who foils Cody's escape plans (and is able to swipe McLeach's eggs). However, she tends to mess up a lot and, at the very end, she indirectly causes McLeach's demise by bumping into him and causing him to teeter off the cliff into the river (with Bernard giving the final push).

Honestly, I feel like you're not giving the Hyenas enough credit. Shenzi's basically the most intelligent of them (she'd have to be, seeing as hyena societies have female leaders in real life), and don't forget, they gave Scar the idea of killing his brother (indirectly, through Banzai's sarcasm) and scared the wildebeest herd that ran over him directly.
I agree with you! They only fail their tasks by the hero’s luck! Ed is the only incompentent one of the trio.

The Hyenas should have get a higher spot. Disney wiki himself said their failing of tasks are more the results of the Protagonists luck or small size than actual incompetence. At least Shenzy is smart. And they are smart enough to realise that Scars rule dooms them all.
But Iago so my favorite character, his spot is well deserved.
The hyenas also turned on Scar when he tried to pass off his failures onto them and essentially blamed them for all of the Pridelands' problems

I would say both Smee and Kronk are worth the trouble. Both may not be evil or anything but they both do their best to help.

The fox & cat are more so scammers doing business with Stromboli and the coachman rather than henchmen. Pinocchio just runs into villains doing their own thing.

Ok, to be fair, Smee, kronk and the Huntsman are easily the most kind sidekicks of this list (even though they still work and stick to their chiefs' side).
And speaking of that, this list seems suitable.
They seem to have hearts of gold and they should definitely redeem themselves and join forces with the heroes! Iago redeemed himself and betrayed his former master to side with the heroes!

Smee isn't a bad henchman. He's a good guy and a good friend with Hook. But i don't see him and Hook evil.

I guess the benefits of being your boss' # 2, especially if you're smarter than said boss, is having more elbowroom in the back seat than the throne as well as having a smaller target... or even pulling the strings in some cases.

You ranked the human side kick in The Rescuers, but what about the two crocodiles? Those 2 were crazy competent. They caught the escaping girl and foiled the rescuers plans multiple times while the main villain and human henchman bumbled around. They were far more competent than the main villain.

Let's not forget that in "Return of Jafar", Iago decided to turn against Jafar near the end of the movie and side with Aladdin for the remainder of the franchise.
The hyenas may not have been much of help, but they aren't DUMB or INCOMPETENT. Just loyal to themselves. Also, they were the only way Scar's plan could ever work, so they should have been WAY higher.
I agree with this ranking.

I know some Disney Henchmen you guys missed. There's Doug the Ram, along with Woolter and Jesse, all from Zootopia. And then there's the Willie Brothers from Home on the Range (unless they’re means to an end just like Cinderella's Stepsisters), FoulFellow and Gideon from Pinocchio (who are, no doubt, accomplices to the Coachman), Roscoe and DeSoto from Oliver and Company, the Huns and/or Hayabusa the Falcon from Mulan, Brutus and Nero from the Rescuers, and Joanna from The Rescuers Down Under. Is there any reason they're not included on the list (not counting the fact Joanna is a sequel character)?

Diablo is actually scarily competent, if he had been set out to find Aurora from the beginning, Maleficent would have won easily. The fairies had basically nothing they could use against her, and Phillip was only barely able to squeak out a win with the magical weapons the three fairies gave him. Even in death, Diablo was able to not only warn his mistress, but, in subsequent media, even resurrect her by himself. If Diablo had found Aurora when she was a baby or a toddler, it would have been over right then and there. Growing up, I never realized just how close Phillip's victory truly was over Maleficent. Petition to nominate Diablo for the most competent and dangerous Disney minion. Imagine if there was a crossover between modern Disney heroes and princesses and classic villains in a Mortal Kombat style death match. I'd like to see modern Disney heroes and heroines take on the oldest, rawest villains in animation. Just a thought!

To be fair to the hyenas, they only A) failed to kill Simba the first time because Mufasa intervened, and B) only turned on Scar after he betrayed them.
So either you gave them more disrespect than they deserve, or literally having killed their master should put them right down at the bottom.

I just willingly didn't include them because I thought it was redundant to talk about all the animal henchmen that don't have some level of human intelligence and just follow their animalistic instincts. I wouldn't say that Malificient's goons are useless, more like their boss is the primary idiot. These are non-human creatures of fey origin, similar to her. She didn't think of informing them of all the knowledge on humans they needed, and didn't check in on updates, and updating them on anything.
So it's technically her fault.
It's kind of the opposite of the Horned King. He actually valued competent minions.
