Yep, bending as much tubing is the way to go. Not only is the bend radius longer with less turbulance then a fitting but also less soldering and leak possibilities.

Only thing is they are almost 500 bucks online😮 to which I decided to hold off. If you ever had a chance, maybe you can do a comparison video.
Technicly your supposed to flow nitro while brazing especially on mini splits adding up all the hassle of setting up to braze a tubing bender is better great video
Everytime I bend it get wrinkles in the copper...Is the copper quality or what? I've tried adding lube to the bender chuck seems to help a bit. Any suggestions?

After trying to decide what bender to buy, thanks to this video, I got one of these for my own. I just got it today. I haven't used it yet but I can attest to the quality of this tool, I love it already. My only question I have is why the dies or the crossbars do not have the usual marked lines on them for using the center method of bending. Do you use the sides of main handle?? Or is there something I missed in the manual and instructions. It is perplexing me why they left out such a small but important feature. Thank you for your great videos. I'll be watching you!!!

5:46... That round Block groove is too wide for that pipe... it has a space between the Block groove and the Pipe... That is why your pipe was flattened. For 90 degree bends just line it up with the Rack on the rear wall. The 1st pipe was at ~ 70 degrees and the 2nd pipe was at ~120 degrees.
I love My Hilmor tubing bender and Hydraulic swager sets . Todays techs and installers have much better tools than I had 40 years ago .

Every fitting costs time too. You have to braze and leak test
Awesome video tad! How do you feel about the other kinds of benders like spring and lever types?
I use spring and lever I have both
I keep a 5/8 spring for mini splits 3 ton
and I keep a lever with me as well

I’ve found that using a little zoom oil on former it helps but the one I’ve have is aplastic former

Just got mine. Pinches and deformed every 3/4 and 7/8 I tried
