    I got P06DD and all I had to do was change the cheap filter in it, to a real Mopar filter and it tripled my oil pressure and fixed the problem.

      I have the same code and I think what's the problem already.
      When I changed the oil I bought the wrong oil filter and just because they looked similar I just cut the plastic he showed in the video and put in, I really hope that's the only thing so i don't have to change the actual oil pump.

      My P0520 on my Chrysler 200 would come on after clearing with the engine off. Clear hard fault wiring or device code. I replaced it with the Mopar part. Problem solved. Thank goodness

    I just fixed a RAM Pro master with that code. P06DD. Replacing the oil pump is the only way to do it. It comes with the solenoid that controls the two-stage oil pump. You can reach it only by removing the metallic oil pan.

    2018 promaster v6. Last winter at -25 I started it and oil pressure spiked and ruptured the plastic filter housing. Got that fixed and all was well for a year. Today p06DD 1k miles from my next oil change. I imagine the filter would have gone long before if it was the wrong one. Today the temp was -25 wind chill and the CA5w20B oil clung to the dipstick like glue even at idle temperature. While driving the motor would hang at 3800 rpm refusing to shift at 25mph. Limped it to oil change shop. They opted to run CA0w20 synthetic for the rest of the winter. I put 5 separate run cycles on it (not just quick starts) and the code cleared, shifting was normal as soon as I left the lube shop. Same guys o always go to.

    I've got the P06DD Engine oil pressure control circuit stuck open code on a 15 Jeep JK. It seems to happen in cold weather (under 10 degree F). It has the correct oil filter for the year and the oil level is full. I didn't quite understand some of what you said in the video. I thought that you said with a P06DD that it probably wasn't the oil pressure sending unit but more likely the solenoid in the oil pump. Would you bother replacing the oil pressure sending unit or just go right to the pump. I replaced the oil cooler housing a couple years ago and I would rather not go down that road again with the oil pressure switch if I'm just going to turn around and have to replace the pump anyway.

    Hey man! Super helpful video, thanks for posting it.
    I had a P0520 and my Ram dealer replaced the sensor last week. Within 10 minutes of leaving the dealer, CEL came back on and now it’s throwing P06dd. I feel like this has to be related to the work done at the dealer. They don’t seem to think it would be related to their work. Am I right to think this is likely to be related to something they did while fixing the P0520?

    I’m curious if you have heard of the issue I’m getting. Code PO6DE comes up only during warmer months of the year. I can go all winter long without the code but once summer starts so does the code. I get regular oil changes and have low miles and this has been going on for two years now. Thought it was strange that it depends on how hot it was outside if the code pops up.

    • @crytech706
      @crytech706  Рік тому

      Depends, if the right oil is being installed, if it's a gen 2 3.6l it needs to have 10w 30 it will do goofy things depending on the weather, and that also goes with most engines, if wrong viscosity is installed it might not do anything, or it will kinda devils advocate

    Hey man, great video. I'm gonna look dumb but I had a p06dd on a 2019 300, 3.6L. They said the oil filter housing was leaking internally & replaced it for $1,200, the code came back in a week. They screwed me right? Thnx

    • @crytech706
      @crytech706  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, if it was leaking it could have caused the issue by damaging the pump, the pump is not a fan of being ran dry, but I would check and see if they topped it off I've seen alit of techs just replace the housing and not top it off, but if it's full it's the pump

    What would you do if you had P06DD and oil in cylinder 5 on spark plug and white tip on spark plug ? Still replace the oil pump? The oil and filter are good. The oil cooler housing and sensors are new. Spark plugs and coils are new. 160k miles. Runs rough on start.

    • @crytech706

      So if it's a 3.6l they are known for bad head gaskets, coolant getting into the combustion chamber, I would put a vacuum on the cooling system, and get a bore scope and inspect the suspected bad cylinder, see if coolant or oil is getting in there, seen it hundreds of times

      Yes, I would see if you are low on oil If so figure out where the leak is, if not your going to have to check the oiling system, oil filter, proper oil type, or something mechanical, it's hard to say. Hope that helped unfortunately that's a dealership fix sometimes

So shop owner did “diag” and recommended another trans 😅 installed it and guess what still same issue. For some reason that code keeps putting it in a sort of limp mode. No 6th gear and lack of power bad shifting. I cleared the code and drove good af. Soooo now time to diag and figure out what’s causing the code

      Only thing left is an oil galley is clogged, or worst off you have crank shaft bearing clearance is off its really hard to say cause I'm not working on it, what I would do is put a Macanical gage on where the oil pressure sensor is its on the oil filter housing run it and compare what the gage says to what the sensor read out was before you removed the sensor that will rule out all internal engine, and you can chase sensors

    I have a 2012 Dodge Challenger. It has a P06DD. I changed the sensor on the filter housing, I got a new aluminum filter housing with the second generation filter. I changed the oil and it was not low either. I got a new oil pump and attempted to remove the bottom oil pan and it would not come off… Two hours were spent trying to remove it and it would not budge. :/
    Taking it to a shop soon to see if they can get it removed. I also have a ticking noise in the car, which sounds like it’s a defective rocker arm on the driver side. So I’ll need to change that as well. I’m hoping the P06DD code is either the rocker arm or the oil pump, but that’s where I am in the journey currently.
