Huge eco friendly problems here! And money to your supermarket every week or day for the batteries? Hey common sense, evolution on the way up rigth? This is not a good way to support hobby shops! Nimh battery could be fine if lipo risks was an issue. Wheels from this miny z 4x4 will only fit this rig. So the choice for after market parts or swap from other rigs is very low. When a car goes flat it will go to the pit where the charging platform is waiting for it, and grab another resting one ready to run from the pit to race. With the wireless charging technology this sounds like a good deal. I can't buy this Rc for this price. Even if it is on a beloved brand. I don't get for my money for sure compare to the Rcw4 gelande 1/18 based more on scale . And compare to a good named brand in crawlers, we are getting more value on the scx24 than this mini z. And I don't recognized them in performances and quality right here! Based on the budget. If I wasn't so sad about it, i would of shut my mouth!
@@icup7802 well if you look at the price of the mini z cars then this truck isn't that high priced, that's just how the kyosho mini z is but they are quality.
I really like how detailed it is, but would definitely like to see Kyosho venture into 1/10 crawlers. Think if they did with the same details as this, just larger scale and kept them in the $400-$500 range, home run. Even make a 70% kit like the KORP. I'm a big fan of their products now having the MV and the KORP. Good stuff as always my dude!👍🍻
Finally a miniz crawler.. So logical. Miniz over axial anytime... If previous miniz quality is continued... Seems so. Batteries are a great plus compared to the lipos. Cheap, safe, flexible with endless runtime. I hope this also creates attention to the other miniz cars. True gems for every scale rc enthusiast.
@Ezra Redgwell scx24 isnt scale at all especially with a lexan body... The SCX is meant to be beyond capable and do lines the real rigs wouldn't do, this rig is identical to wheeling the full size and what true scale enthusiasts are looking for.
Amain.... you folks always have the best prices around. If I decide(talk The ole lady into it) to get one I’ll probably scoop it from you guys cause I know your pricing and it’s very competitive. $200 is gonna be hard to swallow for a 1/24 scale but I spend so much on this hobby it doesn’t really matter anymore.

I think it‘s actually a 1/27 scle but it doesn‘t matter. I really like that little truck. I tried to put some slightly bigger wheels on it, but the added weight of the alloy rims and the grippier profile give the servo a hard time. Especially on grippy surfaces like the couch textiles. It works well with the brass wheelhubs. If you upgrade for bigger wheels better go with lighter plastic rims. I also changed the plastic front axle housing to the kyosho die cast housing. That‘s expensive but it works great, it climbs much steeper without tumbling back and it looks nice. I might put some kyosho oil dampers in it (expensive too). I don‘t want to change to the furitek frame. I keep it all with kyosho parts if there are upgrade parts coming out. I might buy some bigger crawler where i can choose to upgrade electronics easier. But i keep the mini-z as kyosho as possible. I like the limitations of it, first i didn‘t, but now i think it‘‘s challenging and really fun! Sometimes it‘s surprisingly capable where i didn‘t expect it. And its beautiful
Nice review I picked up a few axial scx24’s they are a blast for fooling around house. I also have a bunch of upgrades I ordered, coming in with trickle effect as suppliers have them too ship
I've been to the AMain website several times. Chat even said that they would be in later this week. But you can't pre-order. And you can't even set up notice for when they arrive...
Sorry about that. I don't think we're adding them for preorder because we are receiving a limited amount, and cannot accept more orders than we are able to deliver on. They'll go live on our site when we receive them, and we'll update this video with the direct links to the trucks. -Brett

If did you ever seen a mini z race you will know how fast they can go with AAA batteries. At the beginning I think it’s stupid to use AAA batteries. But after I try I understand why this car are competition cars not toys. At 1/24 scale I ve got : RC4WD Gelande ProLine ambush ( 2 times ) FTX outback mini Ibex 1/24 And some mini z (awd, fwd, rwd, and buggies ) not crawlers of course And I can say that the Kyosho are ULTRA realistic And when I drive a crawler, at the end the most I appreciate is the realism. And Kyosho cars are incredible and amazing realistic I hope and Kyosho use to do, is , that will be more min z crawler bodies
I've had several Mini Zs and the batteries are actually a plus. You get near an hour of driving, and no lipo safety worries at all. Get a good 4 bay charger, and 3 sets of AAA batteries will last as long as you wanna drive.
Nimh batteries are heavier and less power than lipo. But that is not a problem for Mini-Z, they work great. And I don't think there will be a lipo conversion from Kyosho.
A couple of 10440 lipo batteries + a couple of dummy AAA batteries, and you have your own lipo conversion. It's a slight boost in voltage, but not enough to do much damage...
The same with me. Like Paul Mccarter I had/have Mini Zs. One of them a Mini Monster with a brushed motor comparable to those employed by the 4x4s. There'd be no upside by running these off LiPos, but a couple of downsides. Just for the book, the energy density of good NiMh accus is similar to that of your average LiPo, you just don't have the same high discharge rate. But the discharge rate of 4 AAA NiMhs is more than sufficient to power this little bug. Also, the weight of 4 AAAs is low enough to be inconsequential. A much heavier burden is the body of the 4x4 as compared to a simple one made of Lexan. The pros of 4 AAA NiMhs are many. They are readily available just about everywhere and will continue to be around. You can use them for many other purposes if you don't use the truck for some time. If just one of the cells goes foul while the others are still good, you just replace it. It's not an ideal solution, but better than throwing away your whole LiPo- pack. A 7.2 LiPo accu consists of 6 cells, and if one of it drops out early the whole pack is useless. The dangers of LiPo's don't need to be mentioned again, I guess. However, my dark grey Toyota 4Runner is on it's way and the 3 sets of 4 AAA NiMh accus, otherwise used to power a Mini Z brushless Big Foot buggy, are at the ready. The "Big Foot" moniker refers to the Mini Z monster's tires on aluminium wheels it came equipped with. Yeah, this setup is stretching the limits of that platform a bit, but it is a lot of fun to try to tame that little bronco.
LiPos have a higher discharge rate, but for the purposes of the Mini Z NiMh batterie are absolutely sufficient and I've never emptied a set of fully charged Eneloops in one session. A conversion to LiPo is extremely desirable for the Mini Z brushless buggy, but makes no sense whatsoever fro this little crawler (own one since 2021, close to two years now).
Do you think it would be wise to wire in a 3.7v 500mAh lithium polymer battery just for the convenience of rechargability? and as for the front weight issue I could use a lead weight at 10g.
I'm not sure. You'd be losing power with the truck designed to operate on 6V, and you wouldn't have a LiPo cutoff. Its probably risky unless you really stay on top of it. -Brett
I wish i could get it here in australia. The exchange rate is bad from u.s to aus. Id have to pay $400. I dont think ill ever own one. Theyre sold out everywhere 😢
Hi guys. I just purchased my first 4x4 mini z And at very slow speeds. It seems to like pulse or stutter. Is this normal? I feel like it messes up my speed control when trying to crawl precisely. Is this a motor issue? Feels like something is too tight causing it to pulse when going forward at very low speeds.
Congrats on the truck Joel. You can try removing the motor and this will free the drivetrain. Now, give the tires a spin and see how smooth the system rolls; does it feel bound or with much resistance? On the very low end of the transmitter squeeze, we have also experienced stutter as well and we assume it's due to the nature of the electronics used. Here - our "Best Mini Crawler Comparison," at 6:46 we test Mini-Z throttle response against the other trucks: ua-cam.com/video/8MCo3dMKF60/v-deo.html Is your truck behaving like ours? -Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies hi brett! Wow thank you so much for the super helpful response! I actually kept driving it and tried to “work it in” more and it actually seemed to get smoother and smoother as I used it for a few more minutes. It’s noticeably better now. But that’s great to know what I can do to try a fix. Will definitely check out the video. Thanks so much you guys! Amazing.
Looks really nice but the use of AA batteries is a big turn off. But in my opinion,I rather spend a few bucks more and get the slightly bigger 1/18 rc4wd gelande. But this mini z still looks really really good
Any chance your gonna review the 1/18 scale jimmy by kyosho? Id really love to learn more about it and I'm definitely looking forward to picking one up asap!
Probably not unless Kyosho would be kind enough to send us one. I'm told we will be receiving a limited amount of these trucks which we must save for customers, so we cannot use one for videos. -Brett
Guys if anyone is looking for aaa rechargeable batteries look at ebl brand they have really high mah batteries it's all i use for my aa and aaa batteries they have 2800mah batteries 4 for nine dollars and the charger can charge 8 batteries at once and only costs ten bucks i love using ebl batteries they last forever. I'm definitely getting this little crawler perfect for indoor now that it's minus 14 degrees here. Also guys you can get lithium aaa batteries 👍👍
@@R.C.A.D. depends on the mah the biggest ones i have that i use in all my transmitters is the 2800 mah and it's about 35 minutes in sure you can get faster chargers out there but this one Is made for these batteries. So ya probly a little faster for aaa I've never really thought about it i drop them in and come back later. The cool charger charges aaa and aa batteries and it's only like ten bucks

mike grant this has better slow crawl tho and I bet it don’t go through motors like the scx24. I own 2 scx24. I want this mini z I can already tell it crawls the way I want right out of the box
hmm, never broke huh? well i have had 2, not one but TWO of these things and they have both had the little joint right behind the wheel break that just so happens to make it 3 wheel drive and the most they have ever fallen was off a 1 and a half foot couch onto very soft carpen so something tells me that this is no incedent but a flaw with kyosho. Don't get me wrong im still a kyosho fan boy but this little thing irritates me so much i wanted to let people know.
Im gonna get hate. but that rear window defroster is WAY over done. and totally kills the look of this truck for me. I hope there's a way to take it off with some solvent or something.
I think what impresses me most about this video is your guys selection of K-cup pods!

I just purchased my first 4x4 mini z
And at very slow speeds.
Here - our "Best Mini Crawler Comparison," at 6:46 we test Mini-Z throttle response against the other trucks: ua-cam.com/video/8MCo3dMKF60/v-deo.html
Is your truck behaving like ours?

@@AMain_Hobbies hi brett! Wow thank you so much for the super helpful response! I actually kept driving it and tried to “work it in” more and it actually seemed to get smoother and smoother as I used it for a few more minutes. It’s noticeably better now. But that’s great to know what I can do to try a fix. Will definitely check out the video. Thanks so much you guys! Amazing.
@@joelbastian5741 Awesome! Happy to hear it's smoother now!

I just wanna know if there’s gonna be upgrades?
Yes, I believe Kyosho will have some upgrades.
-Brett
Is there any way to convert to a Lipo battery???
No. It may be achievable with modification and custom work, but there are no LiPo battery upgrades at this time.
-Brett
Thanks😄😄😄!!!!!!
I really was considering one, but the fact it requires AAA batteries kills it for me. Would the ESC hold up to a micro 2s?
It's only designed for 6V so probably not.
-Brett
That body is awesome looking, but the fact it takes AAA's while being $200 is beyond me. The SCX24 looks like a much better buy.
Looks really nice but the use of AA batteries is a big turn off. But in my opinion,I rather spend a few bucks more and get the slightly bigger 1/18 rc4wd gelande. But this mini z still looks really really good
DAAAAMN!
Other then the great looks at a price at $200 I still think the scx24 beats the comp but I'd probably buy it still hahaha
Non-Mini-z guys : AAA batteries? Are u kidding me? Bla bla bla
Lol. Maybe it's their 1st time heard of Mini-Z. Welcome to the ship bois!
Looks cool. But I rather get the scx24
What did u end up getting and why
Any chance your gonna review the 1/18 scale jimmy by kyosho? Id really love to learn more about it and I'm definitely looking forward to picking one up asap!
Probably not unless Kyosho would be kind enough to send us one. I'm told we will be receiving a limited amount of these trucks which we must save for customers, so we cannot use one for videos.
-Brett
Do you know when u guys will have them up on the shelf for sale?. Ether way I'ma get that jimmy lol
@@dakotaanderson1504 Early-Mid March Kyosho is saying.

Everyone complaining about the batteries... not gonna lie almost rather have rechargeable AAA’s than mess with charging lipo’s.
indeed :)
Also you can't charge a lipo during a blackout
AAA batteries you just keep some extras in stock
Guys if anyone is looking for aaa rechargeable batteries look at ebl brand they have really high mah batteries it's all i use for my aa and aaa batteries they have 2800mah batteries 4 for nine dollars and the charger can charge 8 batteries at once and only costs ten bucks i love using ebl batteries they last forever. I'm definitely getting this little crawler perfect for indoor now that it's minus 14 degrees here. Also guys you can get lithium aaa batteries 👍👍
What is the recharge time on those batteries ?
@@R.C.A.D. depends on the mah the biggest ones i have that i use in all my transmitters is the 2800 mah and it's about 35 minutes in sure you can get faster chargers out there but this one Is made for these batteries. So ya probly a little faster for aaa I've never really thought about it i drop them in and come back later. The cool charger charges aaa and aa batteries and it's only like ten bucks

Hmm! Right on! Much appreciated for the info,I was thinking that it was still like the 80's,with a 24hr charge time,Apparently they have come along way with that technology too! 😕😊
Learn something new everyday! 😀
Thanks Brother! 😎👍👍
@@R.C.A.D. hey anytime bud.

How fast is it
It is not fast, around one or two MPH.
-Brett
Huh 130 I wonder how fast she would run with a plasma dash motor
молоток видео)) приятно смотреть
Спасибо!-Brett
Так держать👍👍👍
I meed to stsrt of wit this as my first rc 😁
When will they be available for pre-order?
I don't think we're adding them for preorder because we are receiving a limited amount, and cannot accept more orders than we are able to deliver on. They'll go live on our site when we receive them, and we'll update this video with the direct links to the trucks.

@@AMain_Hobbies Thanks
I'm new to the Hobby and new to your website. I just bought a Kyosho. Mp9e from you guys and I was looking at a small crawler. And I know the quality of Kyosho, but why would I buy this over the axial? SC x 24
Primarily for the realistic scale body.
-Brett
It sucks that they're sold out rn
Is it "water proof "
Negative.
-Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies dammit
Oh it’s now
When can we buy this?
AMain Hobbies when it is released. Check out our shop --> www.amainhobbies.com
-Brett
wonder wat that would do with a one cell lipo, hmmmm
$200 for this or $120 for the axial? I know what I'd go for
mike grant this has better slow crawl tho and I bet it don’t go through motors like the scx24. I own 2 scx24. I want this mini z I can already tell it crawls the way I want right out of the box
Or just buy both😁 I own the SCX24 and a pile of other crawlers. This will be added to my collection as soon as it's released.
hmm, never broke huh? well i have had 2, not one but TWO of these things and they have both had the little joint right behind the wheel break that just so happens to make it 3 wheel drive and the most they have ever fallen was off a 1 and a half foot couch onto very soft carpen so something tells me that this is no incedent but a flaw with kyosho. Don't get me wrong im still a kyosho fan boy but this little thing irritates me so much i wanted to let people know.

4:53 what kind of man says “so cute”?🤨
The kind that plays with tiny cars.
-Brett
AMain Hobbies okay.
-Brett
Why don't you use pounds and ounces instead of grams!
I would maybe consider one if it was $100.
Im gonna get hate. but that rear window defroster is WAY over done. and totally kills the look of this truck for me. I hope there's a way to take it off with some solvent or something.
