You all have great taste in music. Pure Imagination by Mr. Lou Rawls was my Mothers favorite song. Played in our house for years. You all look spectacular by the way. Young beautiful black love to a very special King, Queen and little Princess.
Wow, just found this version. The Gene Wilder version is haunting, mysterious and perfect. But this is amazing as well. His voice is incredible and punches out of the speakers with his vibrato . Plus the disco hi-hat drum beat works perfect as well as the disco arrangement makes me want to get up and dance. Never thought this song would be funky 😂
Besides having the most gorgeous bass-baritone voice in the last half of the twentieth century outside of opera, the technique is magnificent. No glitches from high to low, low to high, and it is smoother than butter. Completely sexy.
Beautifully arranged, conducted, and produced by the Great Dexter Wansel, this Production is Classic Musical Artistry. Thank you Lou Rawls for adding to the greatness of this classic song. The Sound of Philadelphia at its Musical Best !
Original is the best but 🎶You'll never find, a better version than mine.🎶You'll keep searching and searching.... sorry that's all I got lol. Great job Mr. Lou Rawls
What a wonderful song! Sung so beautifully with the smooth velvety voice of Mr. Lou Rawls. I just love the way he delivered a song. You know a song is good when you don't mind listening to it over and over. Sing Lou!! 🎤🎶🎶 #MusicMagic #PhillySoul
I have yet to find a vocalist whos voice spreads into every little space , the way lou rawls were blessed to do. Immense talent never replaced after his death .
Not particularly a religious person, nonetheless somewhat spiritual. The culmination of this song and Lou Rawls singing it, is certainly beyond this planet. At times it may seem the Good Lord takes home his favorites .
What a find-Lou’s wonderful take on this Anthony Newley-Leslie Briccuse Classic-I never knew Lou had ever covered this until now! Thanks for this hidden 💎 gem! Stay safe and healthy Jim!😎🤗
The year was 1979 when mr. Lou Rawls started his TV Telethon parade of stars for the United Negro College Fund I believe it lasted for around 20-25 years and thank you mr. Lou Rawls I'm glad that you chose soul music Philadelphia International records number one for Soul music🎼🎙🎶🎵🎷🎺🎻
I love this song! I love the movie too. I mean the 1971 version! Willie Wonka and The Chocolate Factory starring the one and only Gene Wilder! He was one of the most underrated actors who ever walked this planet. Didn't care for the Johnny Depp remake. Great special effects but not much of a movie. Now they are making another. I don't know why Hollywood has to continue to do remakes of films that don't need remakes.
For what it's worth, I had abysmal expectations of Wonka and have now seen it twice in theatres. It's not the same vibe as the Gene Wilder one - his was obviously a bit dark/deranged, albeit well-meaning. By contrast, Wonka was super charming and heart-warming and I just...loved it. Feels like the world is so devoid of happiness and silliness and Wonka was the perfect antidote. Give it a chance! Also, yes, this song is insanely good. Been rocking to it for years now :)
It’s 2024 and I’m surprised to learn just now that THIS version was NOT released as a single in the USA!!! 😱 It was very popular here in the Philippines (got lots of airplay) and most probably was released here as a single. 🤔

What a beautiful full voice this man had. So fabulous to hear him sing without autotune to remove his unique and memorable sound.

@@josephfrye7342 If you mean the song, So do I.
Cause they're out of ideas!
Because people want remakes. Remakes make money. If they didn’t they wouldn’t exist.
