Very useful training. I respectfully disagree about Advantage+ audiences. I use them for music marketing and they outperform every single time if set up correctly.
1) Make sure you use multiple audience suggestions (warm audience, video views 75%) as well as some detailed targeting (genres, similar artists).
2) Keep in mind, in 2024, the main factor affecting ads performance is ad creative, so no matter what audience type you choose, you'll eventually get great performance if your content is attractive to a cold audience.
3) Don't forget to exclude your existing followers! Create an audience of existing IG followers and then exclude it in the audience, so your ad doesn't get served to people who already follow you. This is especially true if you're running ads in a small country or city.

Thanks! I'll give them another try, I haven't tried blending the custom audiences in there yet. One issue I see a lot with them is 90% of the traffic going to 65+, and not translating into streams.
Why not just use Instagram ads from within Instagram?
@@bronson1392 By using the facebook ads manager you can have full control over your settings. Target group, creative and much more. You also have a better overlook of the data, which means that you can analyse the data to optimize and test different things to find what actually works for you.
When boosting (advertising through instagram) you have much less control. Both when creating the ad and also while the ad is running. ☺

Hey Andrew! Longtime watcher here, I was wondering if you could cover why is it "better" for a new artist to promote their spotify singles versus their instagram first to gain traction.
Hey! One big reason is that it's straight to the point, finding people that like how your song sounds to go listen to it. Can get much more use out of your budget if the goal is to grow on streaming platforms and trigger algorithmic playlists. Plus, you typically gain IG followers as a side effect of running these ads to streaming platforms, since they run 'through' your IG page.
I see they finally added this option to ads. Wasn’t possible before . Kinda game changing

Looking forward to trying this out, I have an unrelated question.. we have an artist who is releasing a song as a collaboration and the collaborator has already pitched the song to SFA, the artist has another release he would like to drop prior to the collaboration however it is not appearing in his SFA, it has been 6 days which I know isn't particularly long however we are getting concerned... if you have a collaboration already pitched to SFA from a DIFFERENT artists profile are you still able to pitch your own release from yours ? 🤔 Thank you in advance!

It seems like weekends really tank and it may be a waste of money, what are your thoughts on that?

Typically I don’t, but I also don’t see worse results on weekends. Streaming data tanks on Sundays but ad costs for me don’t see to change.
Overall I don’t think it’d be worth turning off for weekends unless it’s really bad cost wise on the weekend.

BTW, I had to remove indonesia, Taiwan and Egypt from my tier 1-2 countries because they now require 21 and older ads in those countries. Have you noticed that?
Should I run IG profile visit ads alongside my Spotify (landing page) ads or should I only do the latter?
hey andrew and gang, when you run your ads how long does your learning phase take? Everytime I run ads the learning phase takes days and I'm not sure if the ad is running to its fullest becaszue I can't see the data. I know the ad is running because I get the notifications of my Instagram. anyone thoughts?

Yeah same for me. Seems to be fine on desktop but the mobile app is showing me zero stats for some campaigns.
Do you find that when you promote, they interact with your existing content? Does it improve your organic reach WHEN you post content as normal?

Hey Andrew, i've been running this for a while, but I've noticed when the adds come up e.g some interacts with the add and I get a notification, the 'Visit Instagram profile' CTA doesn't come up even though it's selected in the add, any ideas?
Found out directly from Meta that running visit IG profile through Meta adds doesn't quite do this very well, I found a way around it which is to run a conversion campaign and set the website landing to your Instagram profile. This achieves the ad shown with the 'Learn more' and the link to click directly to your website (IG Profile) as the destination. Otherwise, the ads are served without the IG link to visit the profile and all they see is the ad creative.
Are the followers you gain as engaged with your content as engaged as organic followers?
I tried this, and the followers are actually more engaged

My instagram account got banned from running ads because it was apparently linked to my facebook ad account which got banned for no obvious reason. Now im trying to unlink my instagram from facebook, but its still blocked from running ads. Must be a bug. You cant contact Meta either. What can i do?
Ah sorry to hear that, that sucks. Head to Business Support Home in ads manager to see if you can appeal it in any way. Aside from that your other option is to make a new IG account, either for everything or just 1 that you use to run ads for exclusively.
@@AndrewSouthworth thank you, but I'm permanently banned so I'm not allowed to appeal. Anything else I can try? see, I got a chance a long time ago to try and fix the ban with uploading ID, but I guess I was too late. Now there's no way I can reach out. Really sucks that META don't have a contact system.
Do you have anyone that could help me with my facebook ads? I am having all kinds of problems, blocked account (for some unexistent reason, since I never used the account for ads before), now I created another account and can't create an add, it says "there is a problem with this request, we are working to solve the problem as soon as possible. How is there a problem if I just created the account? crazy! I don't know what to do, nothing in my account looks like what you are showing. :(
