Meta has added a new conversion location, which makes it very easy to send people to your Instagram profile and convert those people to followers.

Dear Ben i was wondering, if i set up a campaign with 2 ad sets and in each ad sets 2 different ads , do fb charge lets say if i put 10$ on campaign level he splits into 5$ for adset and 5$ second adset? He doesnt charge for each ad itself?

If you use the strategy of targeting an Asian audience to begin with (new account with a small following) , will that negatively impact the other strategy you share about using a lookalike audience later on?

It depends what you are creating lookalike audiences from. If you do so from website visitors for example, then it won't make a difference.

Good question. It's the only campaign objective that gives you the Instagram Profile option as a location.
@@BenHeath that makes sense. I’m in Canada so I do not have the Instagram option in my conversion location. Hopefully that will change soon. I guess my best option to increase followed for now would be to use a brand awareness or an engament ad?
For some reason me and many other people have the issue that this option is not showing even tho IG is connected. Any idea why that is? @@BenHeath

Hi Ben, thanks for sharing the whole process of setting up an Ad in detail. I'm facing an issue, I do not see the 'Instagram Profile' option when I have to select the conversion (2:44mins into your video) though my Instagram and Facebook business pages are connected.

Have you happened to do an A/B test with boost posts vs this way?
From some colleagues I was told when they tried doing it this way they didn't get followers like when they boosted?
I'm running both ways right now and in the ads manager it's not tracking my follower count so i can't see the metric and don't know if it's working...

What's a good cost range per Instagram follow to expect ?
I have 2 questions:
1) At the ad set level isn't it better to exclude the existing followers?
2) When you have many followers is better to do open targeting because Meta's algorithm knows the audience that is more likely to follow. But the problem is that we ask Meta to bring profile visits. Does the algorithm optimizes for profile visits that will also follow?

for the first question: for the existing followers, this ad would play as a "reminder" role to let existing followers to visit ins again.

If you're just starting out (less than 100 followers) and you're using this method, what would you benchmark as a month to month follower growth rate that indicates it's working? I imagine this will depend heavily on how much budget you've assigned but, since we'll start with a small budget before we scale, what should I look for as an indicator that it's time to increase our budget?

Have you checked which placement options you have selected? That's where you determine where your ads aer shown

Hey, really appreciate the content. On the traffic campaign settings there's no longer the option to select Instagram Profile. What would be the best alternative option please. As the Performance Goals options when selecting Messaging Apps doesn't have the Maximize the number of profile visits. Would selecting Website be an option and entering the Instagram profile url for the destination. Thanks
Update: I transferred the ad account to business page account - still not working. But then i tried to do from personal ad account again and the option was there.From searching online other have same problem, especially when running ads for clients. Is there a mix up with which account the instagram account is connected? Thanks again.

Hey Ben, thank you for such a great breakdown! Quick question, when running ads like these everything is working perfectly results-wise, but in the 'Breakdown' reporting the Countries & Placements report-out as "not applicable". I've scoured the internet & can't figure out why this is happening; all of the pixel tracking stuff is set up correctly & things like Age breakdown are reporting out normally. Any recommendations on how to fix, or why this is happening?

That could just be a time delay for the data to come through?
@@BenHeath interesting... what would you say the standard time delay is? the ads have been running for about a week now and all are showing under 'not applicable' for the country Breakdown. The spend and other engagement data does show per country, just the results and CPR aren't attributing per country

And of course not a single response to this comment. I have the same problem and I couldn't find the solution. There is a way to connect your IG profile trough leads campaign objective but there is only contact trough chat. Let me know if you find the anwser.

Please be patient with all my questions lol. So why would one have to create an audience for an ad that are already your followers? Does one have to do this cause instagram algos don't enable your followers to see your content all the time when you post? Is this the same for FB?

Yes you can retarget based off either if it's video content. You want to create a video view custom audience.
We do not have the Instagram Profile Option in the ad set level under the conversion options. Was this rolled out everywhere?
Not yet to all ad accounts. Meta always rolls things out in stages.

Yes you want to follow what is show here in Ads Manage as opposed to Business Suite. It’s easier to work with in my opinion.

why can't see the instagram profile option in my account. It's a new account. I can see all the 4 options except the Instagram profile option. Please help

I know this was posted some time ago, but I was wondering if you've seen any changes with this? I have some accounts that do not give me the option to run traffic to the instagram profile... any thoughts?
This feature hasn’t been taken away, in fact it’s the opposite. Some ad accounts still don’t have it yet. Meta is taking a long time to roll this out.

if $0.23 1 follower...you can count yourself if 10,000...create best creative & audience to get low cost & quality for 1 follower..bcoz, I've done it before..
It massively depends on your industry and where you are advertising. It could be $0.05 or $3

For some reason my client's ad account doesn't have "Instagram profile" as an option in the traffic campaign objective, even though we often run engagement campaigns to their Instagram posts. Any idea why this might be or if there's anything I'm missing?

Ugh I am having issues even getting to this step. Under your "new traffic AD Set" on the upper left, I'm not sure how to create a new step underneath. I'm not seeing a "instagram profile option" or " performance goal". Not sure what the issue is,
