Some errors/notes: 16:26 The Shrine Place has since uploaded a full translation of the interview in question (randomhoohaas.flyingomelette.com/bomb/book/sbom1/index.html#interview ). The 72-hour story isn't mentioned there, nor is it mentioned in any official publication or by Nakamoto himself anywhere that I could find. The story gets shared around by developers as a fun anecdote, but I would still leave it as an unconfirmed rumor. 1:47:12 G.Ganzu is presented as the mastermind behind the whole plot in the guidebook, though as far as I can tell it is never stated outright that he created the Dastardlies. 2:05:58 Though Neo Geo games are region-free, Panic Bomber Neo was never officially released overseas, so it should be counted as another Japan-exclusive game. 3:17:05 Bakugaiden IV is now subbed, though uploading it to UA-cam got Steamy Jimmy's channel taken down. The subbed episodes are out there trust me, but I won't link it here because I don't want to risk getting taken down. 3:34:14 Though playable in the multiplayer, Honey does not appear as an Assist Bomber in Neo Bomberman. This feeds into the Honey-Pretty connection, as Pretty is kidnapped in that game's plot. 3:57:07 This isn't the first time Bomberman can jump on command without a mount. In Super Bomberman 2, in the 10th battle stage, the mushroom stage, Bombers can also jump on command. Seems to be a stage gimmick more than an innate ability, but it does beg mentioning. Bomberman Hero is thus the 4th game that allows Bomberman to jump without a mount. 4:02:52 The GB version of Pocket Bomberman was also released in Europe, though the later GBC was released there in addition to it. Europe got both versions. 4:08:58 Mistake here, we actually can't select any world from the start. Earth world is first, then Wind, Fire, and Water. 6:07:20 Aqua Bombs actually do more damage to the 5th boss, and they can explode underwater, unlike other bombs. They do have some very fringe uses beyond putting out fires, though the versatility of the other bomb types is still lacking compared to Second Attack. 6:16:07 White Bomber's older brother is called Mighty. Never in the entirety of the Jetters series or games is he referred to as Mighty "Bomber". Not sure how I ended up saying that throughout the whole thing. 7:47:41 The Battle Pack attached to Custom Battler / 2 (DS) is actually an updated version of Battle Pack 2 with the "Bomberman for Beginners" tutorial added here. Oddly enough, it actually doesn't have crossplay with the previous games with Battle Pack 2. But since they all had Download Play anyway perhaps they didn't deem it necessary. 7:55:44 Blitz is actually a condensed version of Battle Pack 2. It retains the tutorial introduced in Custom Battler / 2 (DS), but has only half of the stages. As it is a different game, there is no crossplay between Blitz and any of the Battle Packs and there is no Download Play because DSi games didn't support it. The only way to play Blitz with a friend is if both of you buy the game and download it to both of your DSi/3DS/etc. consoles. The 3DS eShop has now closed, so it is impossible to obtain it legitimately now. Dedicated Battle Pack video here: ua-cam.com/video/8BWJ4ovGK4U/v-deo.html 8:02:05 BBG Entertainment actually does have one roundabout connection to Hudson. Stephan Berendsen, the founder of BBG, had previously founded Living Mobile in 2001. Living Mobile was acquired by Disney in 2005 and renamed Disney Mobile. In the time between 2001 and 2005, this company published the mobile game Super Bomberman (mobile) in Europe and Bomberman 3D in Europe and North America. They didn't develop these particular games though, only published them overseas. They also possibly had the license to develop some Bomberman games of their own, though the info is sketchy. Check the Shrine Place's mobile game list for more on those games (randomhoohaas.flyingomelette.com/bomb/mob/index.html ), and this video for a game they possibly developed (ua-cam.com/video/eB5c81MnWMQ/v-deo.html ). It was incorrect of me to say BBG had zero connection to Hudson, though the point stands that it appears they trademarked Dynablaster from scratch and their marketing is really towing the line. Sort-of follow-up video here: ua-cam.com/video/dGJZsS-kznc/v-deo.html 8:23:40 It is noteworthy that Max was erroneously called Max Bomber when he was first added to Super R, and that his inclusion was purely by fan demand, meaning Konami had no interest of their own to add this only other Bomberman character (twitter.com/Konami/status/1004709812020494339 / ua-cam.com/video/K1_tplDpbEc/v-deo.html, read description). 8:27:00 Bombergirl has since launched on PCs again and has gone F2P. Here is an English guide for getting it set up: www.reddit.com/r/Bombergirl/comments/u2k7z3/getting_started_with_bombergirl_faq/ bombergirls.dreamhosters.com/index.php?title=Main_Page

Man, hats off to you, such effort we can't neglect any one bit.
also on super bomberman 5 its possible do play as subordinate bomber with a special code in custom mode the third option on battle mode but he's a bit glitchy here's a gameplay vid ua-cam.com/video/7Ww9f_9yKb8/v-deo.html
"What are you doing with your life, go watch Bomberman Jetters?" Man I've already committed eight hours more to Bomberman than I have in the past ten years.
This dude could make an entire channel around Bomberman, but instead... decide to make a long-ass 9 hour documentary in a single video. Congratulations, don't know what else I could say, nice job dude, now I sure know Bomberman
So glad to see other UA-camrs appreciating this masterpiece. My favorite parts were the coverage of the Bomberman animes, they truly were very wholesome ❤️ As well as the coverage of Mega Bomberman and it’s weird tragic ending. An early example for me that things don’t always end happily, in gaming
Its kind of poetic that the last real Bomberman game ends with the last memory of Bomberman (at least based on the way they talk about the original Bomberman as though he isn't around anymore) being erased because the world no longer has any need of him
@@BandenTCY I am referring to Custom Battler Bomberman which was the last Bomberman game released by Hudson that isn't just battle mode. Custom Battler's Bomberman is an antivirus program named after "a legendary warrior who saved the planet". The way they talk about the original Bomberman implies, though doesn't state directly, that the original Bomberman isn't around any more. And in the 100% ending, the antivirus Bomberman is erased because he isn't needed any more
@@marakdaniel6580 I don't have 8 hours to spare xD! Took 3 or 4 sittings, but came back cause it was interesting and I thought I could find one of the 3d games I tried as a kid... Still can't tell which one it is :/
It's a year later and this video still lives rent-free in my head. I think I've figured it out. Bomberman is the result of personifying a puzzle mechanic. Like if Tetris was a person, it would get the acknowledgment Bomberman gets. Every Tetris game, "Here comes Tetrisman!" "Tetrisman for brawl!" "I haven't played a Tetris game since 2001!" "The gritty reboot of Tetrisman was so bad!" "A Tetrisman game came out last week?"
Another game series that would be a good comparison would be Pac-Man, most people simplify that series to just the #SORETRO maze gameplay when there's games like Pac-Pix, the Pac-Man World games, Pac 'N Roll, Pac-Land, etc.
my favorite kind of escapism is listening to people delve autistically deep into something that has no impact on my life whatsoever. i mean who doesnt want to chat about bomberman for 8 hours? its comforting
My favourite kind of escapism is looking at parents who gave birth to kids that use the word autistic in the most random ways possible so as to crave attention. I mean who doesn't pity parents like those? 💀
This was a freaking trip to watch entirely in the past couple of days, thank you for all this amazing inside look of the Bomberman franchise, Bomberman Hero is one my childhood favorites, yet I never knew too much of the actual games, and now not only I wanna play the actual Bomberman games but I damn wish Bomberman could have a good proper return
People barely dive into the Bomberman franchise so they don't expect the ammount of legacy and content it actually has. This video shows that the best way possible. Definetely the Best Bomberman video ever made. Godlike and keep up the good work.
Well Bomberman64’s commercial had a reworked version of the Spider-Man theme song being played…. Bomberman-Bomberman🎶! I remember it from when I was 10. At that time I only ever played the NES game and bought most games out of sequence since then. Bomberman Online and Saturn Bomberman I still play. I didn’t get 64 (and now about a month ago Hero which I love) until later. But the GameCube games and Wii version of Land were still pretty cool. This series is my favorite loose cannon storyline in gaming.
Bomberman lore is the exact opposite of kirby lore: in lirby lore, nothing really makes sence until you get the whole picture. In bomberman lore, it only makes sence without the whole picture.
As a Brazilian who had a childhood filled with Bomberman, this was a very important video to me! Thank you very much for going through so much trouble playing all those games and researching all those tie-ins. I learned so much, not only about Bomberman, but about cancelled consoles, the fate of important game companies, idol and mascot business, and much more. A truly great video! I had so many questions, but I think most of them eventually got answered along the video, or I just ended up forgeting most of them. One question that I remembered: Is it possible that Deral is a parody of the boss character Dural from Virtua Fighter? I didn't like the R reboot all that much, either, but what you said about Bombergirl kinda made me interested to at least give it a try. At the very least, seems like those devs actually care about this franchise's legacy. Your Mitsumori/Bagura theory is really solid, and it's now part of my head-canon, too! Jetters is already on my "soon to be watched" list, and I'll be listening to Mr.B·Bee for the next few months. This is certainly a video I'll be returning to from time to time, so you might see more comments by me in the future, but for now: Thank you very much!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Yes, Deral is a reference to Virtua Fighter. I could have gone into twice as much detail on all of this but I had to draw the line somewhere. I kinda regret not mentioning this remix of the Super 2 battle music they added to SBRO. Took Konami 4 years to add Bomberman music to Bomberman, but I'll take it ua-cam.com/video/ASNC5--Rt7Y/v-deo.html
As a Bomberman fan who's played through all the Super Bomberman games via SNES Station on my PS2, Bomberman World and Bomberman Party Edition for the PS1 and Bomberman Portable & Bomberman Land for the PSP and much more growing up, this video made me shed tears of joy. I've never seen such a well researched and well put together Bomberman documentary video like this, this is what I call a true fan. This video is genuinely one of the greatest things ever made for me to watch on this platform, Big Love!
Me at the beginning of the video: "Wow this lore is so fucking weird" Me towards the end: "Wait, go back" Early Bomberman lore (at least in the late 80s - 90s) was the most interesting part, piecing these parts together. I had a bit of a fascination with the series when I was younger, but seeing it all condensed into one video actually made me feel a little upset to see where Bomberman ended up. Very entertaining watch, I was not expecting to get through all of it in one day.
An interesting note about Bomberman Land, I actually played through the first game, closely following Steamy Jimmy's guide, as well as several walkthroughs on game FAQs. Near the end of the game, theres a segment that seemingly explains the "Circle-head" redesign. Bomberman has to re-arrange portraits in the correct order from youngest to oldsest, and you can clearly see the head getting more and more square as the bomber grows up. I guess the implication being that White in the Land continuity was a kid until he grew up in Land Touch.
Or maybe take that in a slightly more "in general" direction, with a theory that in this spinoff, the "oval" is what Bomber species constitutes as "legal minor", and the more iconic blocky look is a "legal adult" (or Bomber MAN to reference the main dude specifically).
Wow. before this, I knew almost nothing outside of Super R, but now, after having watched that nearly 9 hour fan documentary of this series's lore, history, and technical timeline, I can certainly say I learned a lot. This video as a whole deserves way more recognition, and, IMO, itself, deserves to go down in history with this series. Even so, for a channel like yours, with extremely few subscribers, you professionally edited this and kept me entertained the whole time. It was, pun entirely intended, a BLAST learning about the entirety of this series from start to the finish line. All in all... I hope for this entire documentary to get the recognition and praise it deserves! And now, with my entirety of the knowledge of this series, I too hope it eventually sees a bright future once again.
03:58:58 - 4:02:45 BY FAR the funniest part of the whole video. That theory rabbit hole was a good way to find a stopping point for me. Gonna watch the rest on the weekend. Thanks for this deep dive into the Bomberman Gaming Anthology. Edit: I finished the rest and I can say this man has put more care into this video than Konami has ever cared about the whole franchise. Loved it every second.
I just started the video today, watched a whole 4 hours of it, i'll follow this advice and stop right after the theory too, and finish it up tomorrow maybe
5 minutes in, in the first few seconds I was gonna write this off as a comedically long amateur game essay video. But legit, the observations here and the commentary on generic channels and low-effort big-named channels and how they pump out patronizing content without even really understanding the source material of the topic they're covering was spot on. Good video, dude. Seriously, you put a lot of effort into it. I'll be slooooowly working through all 8 and a half hours of it, lmfao. I guess now I have to play more Bomberman
@@Painted_Owl Fuck those "dedicated" channels. Only thing they are dedicated to is producing low quality spam! Seriously the 'VS Channel' doesn't make a whole lot of sense since you will have to dive completely into a characters history in order to be objective or unbiased. But all they do is quick google search. But this guy though. Thoroughly researched, and got my like.
Is awesome to see how a video that felt like "haha 8 hours video recommendation" ended up being actually good and interesting, and I'm just 2 hours in.
Bomberman Jetters confused me so much as a kid. The intro made me think there was an anime that would soon show up on TV or something. It wasn't until highschool that I was able to watch it, and was pleasently surprised at how good it was. The ending made me cry.
"When did White become such a whiny pushover?" Arguably it's because he's currently voiced by the voice actor of X in Mega Man X7. In X7, X was reduced to an even more whiny pushover than White Bomber. I guess the combination of bad direction and a below average VA caused this.
@@trappercap Used to watch the old Toonami on Adult Swim when growing up from the 2000's and I got used to the dubs. Not all dubs are bad but there is some that I can't stand at all like most of the content that 4Kids used to do with everything around with that said anime. 4Kids dubs is shit.
@@haaxxx9 Ahh 4Kids. “Oh, someone gets shot in the head and their brains blow out the back? Sure, we’ll market this to elementary school kids, change the gun to a super space party ray and have glitter and fireworks shoot out of the back of the head.
Bomberman was the first videogame character that I met, about 30 years ago. The fact that he's always been so loved, and still is a huge part of pop culture, is beyond wholesome.
ok, i can't stop thinking about how perfect of a video this is, I am actually mad that I finished it and that there isn't more to watch. This is almost the perfect format to cover a game series, and I especially loved how you covered the music in the games too. I wish there were more videos like this out there for other game series.
final thoughts, bomberman feels like its somewhere between kirby and megaman in its entirety. maybe if you have future ambitions on a video journey like this, could go with one of those series :P
It really does feel like a visual Bomberman encyclopedia, all the bases are covered on every game and by the end of it I actually felt like I played all these games (I played like a dozen of them but that gave me a good idea of what Bomberman is about and this video provided the info on the rest).
Me finding this in my recommended: oh cool I am a Bomberman fan and it would be interesting to see this little retrospective. Me after watching the whole thing in a weekend: wow... I am filled with so much knowledge... This is really great man it was so addictive of a video and you have really done lots of research here and I learn a lot about the series from this even as someone who is a fan of the series. I have to congratulate you on the effort. I can even see room for sequels because I know there’s a lot of stones unturned with this series.
"this Little retrospective" *It's fucking 8 hours long. That's almost a 1st season episodes of 20ish minutes that have 24+ episodes all together. This guy is insane and I just watched all 8 hours of content within a few days!*
Finally finished after watching on and off for a few weeks. The fact you played through most of these games and kept track of everything going on right to the end, all the while managing to keep everything threaded and edited together cohesively is astonishing. I always knew Bomberman existed, but it's definitely something seeing pretty much all of Bomberman's existence laid out like this. I don't know how to feel about the series anymore. It's like, I know more about Bomberman, sure, but its gone from being that fun party game with a unique mechanical identity to a whole lot of ideas that feel like they should fit into a larger picture, only to lead up to Konami's acquisition and leaving it just feeling... there.
About two weeks ago I was looking for a super deep dive history of bomberman (was feeling nostalgic since i hadnt really played past 2010, and then realised how many goddamn games there were in this series). Couldnt really find anything that was indepth, and when i did none of it was finished. Then literally one week later you drop this 8 hour beast out of nowhere lmao!! Thank you for all the work you put into this! Im gonna have to slowly digest this one
Sure thing! That's exactly how I felt in 2014 or whenever that was. Decided to make it myself. Hesitated on it a long time due to the scope but eventually got it done.
After watching the entire video, I can make a conclusion that not even Hudson/Konami knows what Bomberman is. His lore is so skewed and it's difficult to pin point what games are canon to what universe. Even sequels can cause contradictions within the bomberman lore despite taking place in the same universe. I went from Hero, to Max 2 and Generations to DS then discovered Jetters then finally R. I was so confused due to the lore being all over the place. I am still confused.
You know how Miyamoto once said that he saw the Mario characters as a "troupe of actors?" That seems more fitting for Bomberman. There are some shared elements here and there, and even callbacks, but otherwise almost every game - at least before the Konami buyout - is its own thing.
Bomberman is everything and nothing at once. You put him in a series with an established lore and time-line and people complain if the game does things differently from the formula. You do your own thing, the game is criticized for not sticking to the script. Not even Hudson knew who he was. Was he a robot, a humanoid, a thingamajig (Rayman fans know this word and the pain)? Who knows! And the funny thing is... the beginning of the video brings up Super Smash Bros. with people thinking how Bomberman makes sense... 8 years ago. The video did mention Ultimate and his inclusion as an Assist Trophy, which showed he made it, but not in the capacity audiences had wanted, yet probably in a capacity that let's him at least have a moment with the rest (if only people actually played items and weren't elitist).
Finally finished this after about a week. I had absolutely no clue bomberman as a franchise had so much legacy, and so many games, 2 animes... and actually, the reason i even got here was because wikipedia listed so many games that i had no idea where to start from- mainly because i did not know if i had some sort of canon or continuity to worry about. Well, just a few minutes in the video made me understand that nothing matters and so i started and quickly finished Super Bomberman 2. I intend to play Custom Battler and one of the Land Touches, too. I will watch the rest of the bomberman videos whenever i feel like it - but i will say that i cannot even start to imagine how much effort and time you must have put in this. To play and 100% over 70 games, even ones without translations and beyond obscure. Seriously, i really respect that. And so i thank you for this video. I started out knowing nothing about the franchise, but came out a different person. (also, the 9/11 section made me laugh for a good 20 minutes and have trouble sleeping)
by the way, how worth is Bomberman Jetters watching? i dont really watch anime a lot but i am mildly interested to at least give this one a try now. i am just worried that it might not quite be for me, because i assume that its meant to appeal to younger audiences. and sometimes, that means humor and storylines that i do not enjoy much. but eh, i guess im gonna have to try watching it and make my own conclusions
I started to feel so bad for RifeXD about how he kept getting bothered by the lack of continuity in the Bomberman lore timeline. Like, honey, rest your sweet brain, you know it doesn’t make sense, you don’t have to try and figure it out :,(
Can't believe i've watched 8 hours and 40'ish minutes of Bomberman lore and history and still kept engaged all the way to the end. You've done a magnificent job bud, could had easily cut this into many parts, but went all the way like a madlad.
Bro, I like your beliefs and effort you put much on the Bomberman. What makes me upset is that Konami not taking the franchise seriously. Like almost everyday, I’m been asking myself, “when will Konami make a new Bomberman game or a new collection?” Also, they need to build Bomberman back on top like the other gaming iconic characters like Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, and PAC-MAN
1 month late but now that i think of it mega man's popularity and his franchise have many similarities to bomberman. mega man as a franchise is actually smaller than what i thought it is and most people have a limited knowledge on mega man. both series even went dormant for a similar amount of time. only differences are that mega man is playable in smash and bomberman isn't and more people might know mega man than bomberman slightly
Not sure if anyone mentioned, but I think the implication for the Wars game is that Bagura ended up in that time after Super 4, somehow reconstituted a body (he did mention gaining dark power, maybe a form of dark magic), disguised himself as Dark Bomber, ended up yeeted back to the present day in Bomberman World, and was presumably reduced to a brain yet again after leading to Bomberman Hero. At least, that'd make sense to me.
Fantasy Race's Mach Bomber is pretty much Ayrton Senna in bomberman form. Given how much japan loved him as much we brazilians do, it is an amazing thing to see him there
Can't believe i've just watched an 8+ hours long video. Great job dude! Also, thank you for the part about Brazil! Some brazilians actually made a Bomberman fangame called "Power Bomberman" IIRC, and it has ALL the Bomberman characters. Even Wario.
Growing up as a major Bomberman fan, I was, too, surprised to find so few things about the fandom. No great forums, no new games suddenly after 2011, etc. I literally found fans after commenting wikia articles that they wrote XD With that being said, great video and a great Bomberman legacy!
to answer the question asked at the end of the video, i actually used the time to start making myself actually be more social since ive been on a multiple year streak of having no friends. its been doing well so far actually which is nice, not nearly as lonely as before (also nice video, took me 3 days to go through all of it, bomberman ds battle mode was a big part of my childhood and its nice to see what the rest of the series was about)
oh... my... god... man, can't wait to finish watching this video with my grand children! seriously though, it is INSANE how much work you've put into this! i used to enjoy bomberman a lot when younger, so it's pretty awesome to see something like this being made in a time like this :)
When I was in kindergarten I was asked to draw a comic, so I drew a comic about one of my favorite video game characters at the time, Bomberman. After so many years of being in love with the N64 titles, I always wondered what the deeper story to Bomberman was. You answered my curiosity, thank you so much, this has been an amazing journey. Quite a blast! 😉
oh man, you awakened my repressed feelings towards bomberman as a whole. it made me fully replay (Baku)Bomberman 64 and Bomberman Tournament, and allowed me to revisit many other games from my childhood that i didn't know i missed. thank you for putting so much effort into this literal Journey. i hope at least someone from hudson got to see this to revel in the legacy they left.
I think more than anything, a lot of the way Bomberman was handled kinda exemplifies a lot of what makes Japanese creative works of it's kind (cartoony comedy, tonally speaking) so interesting. So much of it kinda takes a "If it's fun/funny, let's do it." approach, reminiscent of classic gag manga/anime. A lot of stuff years ago took a "star system" approach to it's canon, with characters being treated like actors playing different roles in each work they're in, and with works between them having a very loose canon if any. It's a very neat approach to things, and cares less for what's consistent so much as whatever is interesting to do or will make for a fun/creative experience, and Bomberman is a prime example of that philosophy, I feel, and it's something you don't get much elsewhere recently outside of maybe classic cartoons or stuff like that.
Dude, this is incredible! I can’t imagine how long this took to make. I aspire to be as thorough as you with researching series I’m passionate about haha. I’m only about an hour in, but I’ve enjoyed learning so much about Bomberman. It’s a series I’ve always been interested in and seeing it’s history presented this way is exactly what fans like myself were looking for. I’ll update this comment when I finish, but again, amazing work Edit: I’ve… finally finished. This was amazing. It took me two months watching on and off, but it was worth it. I know… SO MUCH about Bomberman now. Thank you. Final thoughts… I think Bomberman is indeed one of the most consistent yet experimental game series out there. Bomberman is what you make it at the end of the day. I think your story/lore theory’s are also solid. Final final thoughts… Rest In Peace… black bombers green dragon that never shows up again lol. No seriously, great job man. This will definitely get the recognition it deserves.
1:36:05 - what i got from the previous few seconds of that scene was that the ship was too heavy to fly with both Bomberman and the Louie at the same time. Though I can't remember if you mentioned if they carry over between levels or not so idk
Super Bomberman R Online's servers will be shut down in December, so... Konami's statement that "They are all in there!" will soon become "Nobody is there"...
About the sister thing, people call older girls "big sis" in Japan, that might be just a translation thing. As for Bagura's name, I always thought of it as a fusion between Bug and Dracula, he's got the cape and all. Thank you for your service, I didn't watch everything with full focus, but it did accompany me through some crunch hours and I appreciate your narration style, way more assertive and focused than usual, with good humor and attention to detail. I usually can't stomach more than 30 minutes of videos like this. Cheers.
Bless the algorithm for directing me to this video. I've been curious about the scope and continuity of the Bomberman franchise as whole for quite some time. Safe to say I wasn't expecting it to be so... fractured. Wading through all of it must have been a Sisyphean task. The bit at 7:39:26 genuinely made me smile. What a perfect way to summarize the absolute nightmare that is this franchise's translation intricacies and negative continuity.
5:34:33 aawww thanks!! we Brazilians really loves Bomberman and his series and we thankful that someone acknowledge that also 1:47:45 you can use these skins by pressing 'Select' Already one of my favorite videos on UA-cam, Bomberman is a really underrated series and seeing a 8 hours long with you put this much of effort just brings me joy, nice video man, keep it up!
You did an awesome job condensing almost everything about Bomberman into a well-researched and often humorous video. Took me 2 days to get through, but I enjoyed every minute of it. :D My favorite moments: 1:32:36 - The many, many localizations of Bagura 4:23:22 - "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...." 7:39:25 - "So we fight Evil Bomber, who is not be confused with..." 8:15:23 - How to kill a longtime shipping pair with just one word! 8:32:32 - "They are all in there!"
Wow... just wow... This is without a doubt the longest and most complete video on UA-cam about the Bomberman games and their Lore. My respects to you for making this video, I don't want to imagine the amount of time you had to spend searching for data, recordings of the games and trying to connect the lore of the games and the characters with each other, simply amazing, very good job! Bomberman is one of the franchises that I would have never thought would have a lot of games. The first Bomberman game that I played as a child was Super Bomberman 5 and Bomberman B-Daman from Snes and I loved them a lot even though I didn't understand the dialogues and as part of the people of Latin America, yes, I played these games emulated on zSnes (Btw, you cleared up a doubt I had regarding some videos on YT of the OSTs of some Super Bomberman games. It seemed strange to me to see that in the comments of those videos there were sometimes comments in Spanish or in Brazilian and I didn't know the reason for that, but thanks to this part of the video ''5:33:23'' now I understand the reason haha, thanks) In 2021 I found out about Super Bomberman R Online and I had a lot of fun playing with my friends but then I found Power Bomberman and OH BOY I have so much more fun with this game! Everyone should try this great Fan Game that does justice to all the Bomberman legacy! And thanks to Power Bomberman it brought back my love for this franchise. Right now I'm looking forward to playing some Bomberman games, like all the Snes ones, the N64 ones and even the Saturn which looks interesting. Hopefully Bomberman continues to have new games and that people continue to remember this franchise. Greetings and good video! c:
Coming back to comment again now that I've finished the video, and again, thank you! I had no idea I was missing out on so much, I've only played maybe... 2 or 3 of these before? I had no idea there was so much to Bomberman, definitely going to be giving it more love and playing some of these! I can't IMAGINE how long it took to research, record, play the games, and edit all of this. You're awesome. Also how weird is it that out of ALL recent Bomberman games, Bombergirl has the most respect for the series background and lore? lol
Same here, I played some Bomberman games and lots of Bomber clones as a kid (Playing With Fire II and Bomb It! come to mind), it's so interesting to see this franchise's life. Imagine someone doing the same with another franchise like, I don't know, Pacman? It could be so tiring to do.
Not really weird, since Bomberman R is made for a general audience (lowest common denominator), meanwhile Bombergirl attracts otaku who have more knowledge about Bomberman lore Basically it went full in on fanservice
I love the idea of people going "hey there isn't enough infomation out there on 'x' topic, time to become the expert it on it!" I've legit rewatched this 8+ hour video multiple times, so much content is always best to tackle in multiple sessions.
I've attempted to get into the series a couple of times before in the past few years, but ultimately gave up due to the lack of info on most of the series' entries/lack of translations. This guy is a godsend for compiling as much info about every game as he did.
I haven't even started watching this yet and I already have immense respect for you. The will power required to make sure this released as the 9 hour video it was intended to be is insane. Scripting, research, editing, resource gathering; that shit ain't easy! Props to you for sticking it out and sitting on the video's finished parts in the editing timeline until it could all be viewed together as was intended. Bomberman RULES.
WHEW. I have so much respect for the effort that went into this. Even being completely outside of the Bomberman franchise, I thoroughly enjoyed absorbing this video. I found value in seeing and hearing the style of the games evolve over the past like 35 years, and how the franchise followed the trends and technology. I also loved the brilliantly satisfying punchline at 7:39:25 in particular. The interspliced jokes, theories, and bug oddities made this super entertaining, but beyond that, I can only imagine how important this video may actually be as a source of preservation for a seemingly confusing & confused IP haha. So, gg, this was incredible!
Finally finished chipping away at this after 10 days. Incredible video, I can't even imagine how much effort was put into all of this. I've never played a single bomberman game, but I did have a friend who liked bomberman, so I knew of it's existence, but I never knew just how deep the rabbit hole went. Really like how you showed off the music from the games throughout the video, not many people do that sort of thing. That ending rant where you listed off every single character not in SBRO was so worth the 8 hour buildup.
Very impressive video! Before I watched this, I knew hardly anything about Bomberman beyond the N64 games, Generation, and cursory knowledge of other titles. Now I have a much better understanding of the franchise as a whole. I will say that the inconsistencies and ambiguities of the series make it so being a Bomberman fan isn't always rewarding. Some series, like Mario and Zelda, build up this kind of "meta lore" where they'll make nods to past games and bring back characters from those games in roles ranging from minor cameos to full-on playable protagonists, making it feel rewarding to be a fan of those series. Look deep, and you'll find all kinds of lore, nods, and callbacks that give you that warm, fuzzy feeling. Bomberman _could_ do this, but even before Konami's acquisition, Hudson was pretty lousy about keeping more than a handful of concepts across the series. While it stands to reason not every idea can be brought back for every game, it would have been nice to see, say, Regulus, Princess Millian, Nitros, and Natia become recurring characters in the franchise (though I can kinda see why Regulus and Nitros haven't returned as they mainly served as archetypal rivals in a capacity that Max would later serve). Hudson created so many one-note one-shot characters, including expies of past characters, that it's no wonder fans have forgotten almost all of them, which is a real waste of time and resources if you ask me. If you're gonna bother to sit down and design a character for a game you expect to sell, you're best off coming up with something that will stick. If _you_ don't care, why should the fans be expected to? I understand all too well the frustrations with Super Bomberman R; I hate that they turned Pretty Bomber into Bomberman's sister after all this time, and I think it was a colossal waste, not to mention a little arrogant of Konami, to shove so many of their own characters into the game while casually neglecting the series' own vast catalogue of native characters that would have been perfect for a big series' comeback. It's almost like Konami is flexing on the fans, saying "We own this series now and are gonna use it to shill our own IPs!" The scene with Dracula Bomber in the DLC encapsulates this perfectly. And that response on Twitter shows Konami is terribly out of touch with the fans (but then, that's been evident for a while). At the end of the day though, Hudson's own "nothing is set in stone" mentality hurt the series more than helped it, as evidenced by the fact hardly anyone actually _knows_ anything about the series beyond its superficial trappings. Hudson themselves are to blame for robbing the series of an identity beyond its core mechanics. Say what you will about the Mega Man and Sonic series, given their ups and downs, but people _know_ what their games are about. Mega Man is nothing if not consistent (barring a few well-documented continuity snarls here and there), and the Sonic Cycle has made it almost impossible _not_ to know at least a little about Sonic's games, but Bomberman has the dubious honor of being both obscure _and_ well-known at the same time. His is a mainstream series with a lot of obscure entries, a series many gamers know about, but _precious little_ about. My hope is that this video will spread and players become much better-informed about the franchise as a whole, and that someday in the future fans who grew up with these games - or who got into these games thanks to videos like this - then get the chance to make their own installments that pay loving homage to this series' wacky history. Or at the very least, that we get spiritual successors that do for their own characters and lore what Bomberman _should_ have done, in the hopes that the spirit of the series' potential is kept alive and flourishes.
and done, after a week of chipping away at this video... holy shit, the ending. i'm going to remember this for a long, long time. i've never played a bomberman game, and now i want to play about 20 of them. your effort and dedication is absolutely unthinkable.
Nicely done! Thanks for being so thorough. I'm a big Bomberman fan and always wondered where some of these characters were originally from(Evil Bomber, Honey, the Midnight bombers, etc.). Also I agree, people need to watch Bomberman Jetters.
I never knew I wanted an encyclopaedic overview of the Bomberman games, and I never thought that by the end I would have very strong feelings about the franchise, the characters, and the state of Hudson/Konami in general. Very, very well done.
2:45:37 he's just Dr. Mimori (三森) in Japan, but in Do-re-mi Fantasy they spelt it with katakana (ミモリ) to make it more kid friendly so the fan translator likely didn't have the context for his name and came up with "Memory"
Alrighty, I'll tell you later anyways but I finally finished this Rife. It's fantastic all the way through and admittedly I expected nothing less of you lol. Was not expecting to see my crustyass Bomberman Street footage either in the end there
As a big Bomberman fan, it was great to watch this video and learn about the Japanese games I didn't know at all. I doubt we'll see old canon again, but at least Bomberman isn't entirely dead. It's nice we have a modern online bomberman game, but the special abilities of the Konami bombers make it super annoying to play. It's a shame Hudson is dead, and that their last use of Bomberman was in a Tetris 3DS game, but at least he isn't gone and forgotten yet. Hopefully things will pick back up.
Thank you for this video. Im still at 5:48:00 and I love every bit of it. I always felt that I was missing some connection inbetween the games when I was a kid and I'd often think that I should try to figure it out some day, but seeing you meticulously try to make sense of EVERYthing bomberman and show how much of a monumental task it is allows my heart to be at ease. It also gives me a nice fuzzy feeling to see you shed a light into a few obscure titles that were part of my childhood that don't get that much recognition nowadays.
The absolute GALL of that Konami representative to just say "yeah, all of the bombers in there" for a series that is KNOWN for having hundreds of Bombers... What an amazing sight to just see the complete breakdown of every Bomber not in Amazing video, you have CLEARLY done your research, time and dedication to truly appreciate Bomberman through and through and are worthy of being a Bomberman legend

"Oh, Bomberman stuff! Neat I'll wa-" *8+ hours of video* "...nope." *still watches intro because* *sees BULGE PUNCH* "Sold." Hours after, spread over a few days, been having a blast (pun intended). Seeing the Bomberman canon being more volatile than their bombs is crazy, and you made it even more hilarious (multiplying whites on Star Parodier, lack of continuity or break/shift of continuity analysis over all games, so much to name on a 8+ hour long work, you making Bomberman go streaking whenever "choose your clothing" is an option). I remember playing Super 4 and loving it, and then trying to find new ones and stumbling over the Bakudan and chess one, and being like "...wait, what?". That confusion made me lose interest over the series, despite them being good games (child me wasn't really receptive to new things), but now it all makes sense! At least more than the canon. Just wish you either noticed or talked about the Rooies (won't call them Louies, you can't force me) names on Super 5. They are all puns on what they do or are: Nagurooie, naguru, 殴る (to hit, as in punch); Warooie, warui, 悪い (bad, evil); and so on. Their whole naming scheme is hecking fun. And I kinda wonder if the Atomic Punk thing that US did was an op to make people more receptive of nuclear weapons. I mean, there was that whole thing about "They stole our radiation! We gotta fight them!". Specially more bonkers if you notice that the story says "there is no escape from the prison towers of the planets nuclear factories" means that the residents of Atomica themselves created prison towers in theirs nuclear factories, since the Nukies actually invaded Atomica to steal their radiation, which means that the Nukies didn't build those prisons, they are just using them. God, that story alone deserves an episode for itself. Also, totally agree: Bagura is Dr. Mitsumori. Bonus points if you go further and believes that most likely, Bagura is trying to stop Bomberman from becoming too powerful, because he knows that Bomberman will eventually have enough power to defeat God, and that frightens him. EDIT (I was still on the last hour when writing): HOLY SHIT, KONAMI FIDDLED WITH THE CANON TO INCLUDE INCEST EDIT 2: "They are all in there". Hope someone linked this part of the video to the tweet. EDIT 3: NOT ANOTHER ICEBERG MEME
You have once again proven that UA-cam is a beautiful, beautiful thing. I also need to just say; that without a DOUBT. Super Bomberman 2's OST is one of the greatest; most accomplished and underrated soundtracks ever. Not just on the SNES, but in general. From a technical standpoint alone, it has a sound unlike any other SNES game. Honestly sounds like the prototype for the aggressive industrial metal-pop movement that came about a few years ago (Black Dresses etc). I played 100's of hours of SBM2 on SNES with my sister and not once did we get tired of the music and even now, I still feel my hair's stand on end at the absolutely masterful punch to the head; that is the boss theme. So many soundtracks had aggressive and catchy riffs, like MUSHA and Aleste on the SEGA MD but even they failed to have the high-production sound of SMB2.
Funnily enough, I just finished re-playing Bomberman 64 a few days before I found this video. I had only over played Bomberman Tournament and the N64 and GameCube Bomberman games (and also, inexplicably, Atomic Bomberman), but this video really made me want to dive deeper into the other games in the series. Thanks so much for this awesome, in-depth video!
going to be watching this a little at a time, but just wanted to say THANK YOU for making this simply amazing retrospective. I've always been curious about Bomberman, as you put it - how everyone knows about Bomberman but knows very little ABOUT Bomberman. So it's really nice to finally learn more about this long-lived character and franchise, and I really appreciate that you give each game it's own time and look at all the little things that change between each title.
Yep! Every bomber man game. They are all in there! Great job man. I've never seen anyone cover an entire series that everyone has heard of but no one has played, and I'm not sure that it'll happen again.
@@chriscloete8688 IKR?! Fingers crossed he can pull that off, I'd be quite impressed if it was anything close to the amount of info he has in this video. EDIT: Typos. -.-
when my mom got us (me and my brothers) a Switch for the holidays one of 6 games she got for us to start out with was Bomberman R. I played it to hell and back (alone since my brothers didn't wanna play with me but I still had blast) and got bored after a while once we started getting more games. after not thinking about this franchise for years aside from occasionally listening to the Bomberman Hero ost and feeling like "one of these days I'll get around to playing it" I've suddenly contracted an immense hyperfixation on the series that formed in the span of an afternoon for little to no reason and this is exactly the video I needed. thank you greatly for your hard work in making this.
Watched this over the course of 3 weeks and really enjoyed it. My history with Bomberman actually started with Bomberman GB (Bomberman GB2) and did enjoy my time with it, not being aware of other entries until Bomberman 64 ads were all over TV. My love for Bomberman was really cemented with Bomberman 64 (Baku). Loved every bit of that game growing up. Next title I invested into was Bomberman Hero, I was quite young so this "Bomberman can't jump" mentality is news to me. Hero had a banger of soundtrack in my opinion. After that my cousin got this Gameboy title called Pocket Bomberman, the change from what I knew from GB (GB2) was neat but never did finish it. Then came Bomberman Max Blue Champion, thoroughly enjoyed that game, never did play Red though and being a young kid at the time was unaware of synching up the two games to get 100%. I did own a PS1 for a brief period of time and got Bomberman World (PS1), never did finish it but did enjoy the art style quite a bit. Always wondered about the characters you could use in the battle mode. Bomberman Generations on the Gamecube was great in my opinion, albeit seems pretty one note with its elemental bombs. From there I did get the Bomberman Jetters game, completely unaware of the anime at the time. For whatever reason I didn't play it all that much but kept going back for Dodgebattle on Generations a lot. After that though my Bomberman games kind of dwindled for awhile. I was aware of other Bomberman games but to me they all felt kind of samey. Then the wonderful world of emulation opened up everything for me. Super Bomberman 1-5, Bomberman 64 The Second Attack and did play some of the TG16 games. I did enjoy my time with Super Bomberman R and eager to get the next game. I do wish there was some continuity between games, and was pretty heart broken that a 3D adventure on the 3DS game never came to fruition.I'm eager for another 3D adventure. Bomberman Generations is probably my post played entry for Dodge Battle, my buddies and I would set up the timer to 5 minutes and see if we could last to the very end. Brilliant fun! After watching through these, heavily considering giving that last DS Bomberman game ago sometime in the future and Saturn Bomberman. Excellent job on the video RifeXD, tons of games I never even knew about and loved seeing takes on games I grew up with from another perspective. Strangely enough it felt like I was the only one who ever wanted to talk about these games. Thank you for a wonderful video
8 hour video and only 1k views.. I cant imagine just how long it took you to make this. As a bomberman fan you've got my gratitude. You deserve a lot more subscribers and views.
This is seriously so amazing! I'm really happy to know that I wasn't the only one that wondered why there wasn't much Bomberman content on youtube, especially back then. Bomberman and the series means a lot to me, but the content on youtube left a lot to be desired about the series. This video is amazing, and it's cool to see someone passionately talk about the series, especially to this insane extent! Amazing work!
I was almost expecting you to briefly mention a fan-develop bomberman game call Power bomberman after you blasted through all the bomberman characters after konami's statement of every bomberman is here... cause Power bomberman, was a fan-develop game that is a true love letter to the entire series, roping alot of characters in the bomberman universe in their battlemode. I kinda assume you would know power bomberman in the first place though.
@@BigBoy257 ahhh ok, but yeah, that just make it a miss oppturnity to plug power bomberman after that lol.... cause power bomberman was the superior version lol....
The devs hate it when people make mention of the game anywhere. Something about not wanting Konami to hit them with a C&D. I dunno, I think they could be more positive about this. Trust me, I would've loved nothing more than to give them a giant shout-out, but I didn't want to bother them.
More than 8 hours of pure passion towards the Bomberman franchise!, I've never played any Bomberman game before but THIS video made me respect the series even more ( this incredible work deserves more attention, well done!👏)
Some errors/notes:
16:26 The Shrine Place has since uploaded a full translation of the interview in question (randomhoohaas.flyingomelette.com/bomb/book/sbom1/index.html#interview ).
Dedicated Battle Pack video here: ua-cam.com/video/8BWJ4ovGK4U/v-deo.html
8:02:05 BBG Entertainment actually does have one roundabout connection to Hudson.
Sort-of follow-up video here: ua-cam.com/video/dGJZsS-kznc/v-deo.html
8:23:40 It is noteworthy that Max was erroneously called Max Bomber when he was first added to Super R, and that his inclusion was purely by fan demand, meaning Konami had no interest of their own to add this only other Bomberman character (twitter.com/Konami/status/1004709812020494339 / ua-cam.com/video/K1_tplDpbEc/v-deo.html, read description).

Isn't PacMan the same as personifying a puzzle mechanic?
Another game series that would be a good comparison would be Pac-Man, most people simplify that series to just the #SORETRO maze gameplay when there's games like Pac-Pix, the Pac-Man World games, Pac 'N Roll, Pac-Land, etc.

@@1gnore_me. idk, there’s a bunch of people who have never heard of Bomberman
Bomberman lore is the exact opposite of kirby lore: in lirby lore, nothing really makes sence until you get the whole picture. In bomberman lore, it only makes sence without the whole picture.
You’re not wrong
As a massive fan of both, (in fact, Kirby is my favorite game franchise ever), this is the truest thing ever lol.
@@RifeXD Hey, don't forget to monetize your videos
I think all of us brazillians have played a bomberman game at one point
As a Bomberman fan who's played through all the Super Bomberman games via SNES Station on my PS2, Bomberman World and Bomberman Party Edition for the PS1 and Bomberman Portable & Bomberman Land for the PSP and much more growing up, this video made me shed tears of joy. I've never seen such a well researched and well put together Bomberman documentary video like this, this is what I call a true fan. This video is genuinely one of the greatest things ever made for me to watch on this platform, Big Love!

Hey, can you explain your entire channel to me? Please?
onimai pfp, nice
So relatable. Finally meeting other Bomberman fans, this is amazing!
Me at the beginning of the video: "Wow this lore is so fucking weird"
Me towards the end: "Wait, go back"
Early Bomberman lore (at least in the late 80s - 90s) was the most interesting part, piecing these parts together.
I feel like this guy is probably to bomberman what cybershell is to sonic

Wow. before this, I knew almost nothing outside of Super R, but now, after having watched that nearly 9 hour fan documentary of this series's lore, history, and technical timeline, I can certainly say I learned a lot.

I actually really like this theory though 😂
The “They’re all in there,” segment made this one of the best films on UA-cam. Thank you for peak 👏
Birds of a feather, we are. I thought the same at first glance. I’m a hour and a half in, and I’m totally looking forward to finishing it. Eventually
@@Painted_Owl Fuck those "dedicated" channels. Only thing they are dedicated to is producing low quality spam! @@HueghMungus I've always hated Death Battle and other big name channels that aim for generic content without doing research.
As a Ben 10 fan, I can relate to the feeling of Death Battle vastly underestimating a character you like...
Too be fair, even the best voice actors do bad with poor direction

Bomberman was the first videogame character that I met, about 30 years ago. The fact that he's always been so loved, and still is a huge part of pop culture, is beyond wholesome.
FACTS. My childhood hero man.
ok, i can't stop thinking about how perfect of a video this is, I am actually mad that I finished it and that there isn't more to watch. This is almost the perfect format to cover a game series, and I especially loved how you covered the music in the games too. I wish there were more videos like this out there for other game series.
I almost feel the urge to rewatch it tbh, just to see if I could pick up on things I missed the first time around with future knowledge.
final thoughts, bomberman feels like its somewhere between kirby and megaman in its entirety. maybe if you have future ambitions on a video journey like this, could go with one of those series :P
It really does feel like a visual Bomberman encyclopedia, all the bases are covered on every game and by the end of it I actually felt like I played all these games (I played like a dozen of them but that gave me a good idea of what Bomberman is about and this video provided the info on the rest).
just rewatch, it's a great video ^^

You can still make that with your own perspective. Nothing is stopping you (and you can point out everything I got wrong and everything I missed).
Hey, I hope you make more videos. I don't really mind having more Bombertubers
It's like, I know more about Bomberman, sure, but its gone from being that fun party game with a unique mechanical identity to a whole lot of ideas that feel like they should fit into a larger picture, only to lead up to Konami's acquisition and leaving it just feeling... there.
The fact that none of the old Bomberman games are available for play in Nintendo Switch Online service is a goddamn crime. 💣🍒
fr
This is insane, I was debating playing most of them to research a video and now I don't need to, thank you muchly!
@@TheWispGuy And Hudson pointed to Mario as _too set in stone_ for them! 😂
Bomberman hero was the first bomberman I played as a kid. It was a fun game from what I remember and I still listen to the soundtrack sometimes.

Funnily enough, he actually did go ahead and cut this video into multiple parts
Bro, I like your beliefs and effort you put much on the Bomberman. What makes me upset is that Konami not taking the franchise seriously. Like almost everyday, I’m been asking myself, “when will Konami make a new Bomberman game or a new collection?” Also, they need to build Bomberman back on top like the other gaming iconic characters like Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, and PAC-MAN
Oh well, atleast he got it better than rayman XD
Welcome to the meta era of bomberman
They prefer to steal your money with Bombergirl and that's all.
@@esrever6948 at least, they made Bomberman into a full costume, which is close to become playable at some form in Smash

oh man,

thank you for putting so much effort into this literal Journey. i hope at least someone from hudson got to see this to revel in the legacy they left.
Thank you for your service, I didn't watch everything with full focus, but it did accompany me through some crunch hours and I appreciate your narration style, way more assertive and focused than usual, with good humor and attention to detail. Bless the algorithm for directing me to this video. I've been curious about the scope and continuity of the Bomberman franchise as whole for quite some time. Safe to say I wasn't expecting it to be so... fractured. Wading through all of it must have been a Sisyphean task.

It seemed strange to me to see that in the comments of those videos there were sometimes comments in Spanish or in Brazilian and I didn't know the reason for that, but thanks to this part of the video ''5:33:23'' now I understand the reason haha, thanks)
In 2021 I found out about Super Bomberman R Online and I had a lot of fun playing with my friends but then I found Power Bomberman and OH BOY I have so much more fun with this game!
Not really weird, since Bomberman R is made for a general audience (lowest common denominator), meanwhile Bombergirl attracts otaku who have more knowledge about Bomberman lore
Basically it went full in on fanservice
I love the idea of people going "hey there isn't enough infomation out there on 'x' topic, time to become the expert it on it!"
I've legit rewatched this 8+ hour video multiple times, so much content is always best to tackle in multiple sessions.
Wario also RULES
Or at the very least, that we get spiritual successors that do for their own characters and lore what Bomberman _should_ have done, in the hopes that the spirit of the series' potential is kept alive and flourishes.
and done, after a week of chipping away at this video... holy shit, the ending. i'm going to remember this for a long, long time. i've never played a bomberman game, and now i want to play about 20 of them. your effort and dedication is absolutely unthinkable.
i felt the same way, heck, im even playing custom bomber right as i type this
"here's mujoe's theme"
"Oh ha, ha, plays sienfield instead"
"That was actually legitimate?"
Nicely done! Thanks for being so thorough. I'm a big Bomberman fan and always wondered where some of these characters were originally from(Evil Bomber, Honey, the Midnight bombers, etc.). Also I agree, people need to watch Bomberman Jetters.
sonic shorts
You should check out Power Bomberman. It's a very high quality fan game for up to 12 players and has really good online!
What an amazing sight to just see the complete breakdown of every Bomber not in
Amazing video, you have CLEARLY done your research, time and dedication to truly appreciate Bomberman through and through and are worthy of being a Bomberman legend
thank you
you bring justice for the entire franchise just from one video

"Oh, Bomberman stuff! Neat I'll wa-" *8+ hours of video*
"...nope."
*still watches intro because*
*sees BULGE PUNCH*
"Sold."
Hours after, spread over a few days, been having a blast (pun intended).
EDIT (I was still on the last hour when writing): HOLY SHIT, KONAMI FIDDLED WITH THE CANON TO INCLUDE INCEST
EDIT 2: "They are all in there". Hope someone linked this part of the video to the tweet.
EDIT 3: NOT ANOTHER ICEBERG MEME
I did! I linked the vid to the tweet! And so did several other people!
So...Dr. Mitsumori is Bomberman's uncle!? 🤯
This is such good work! Thanks for giving respect to a franchise often dismissed as "just a multiplayer" game.
At first I was: Damn, 9 hours about Bomberman? wtf?
Me now: WHY IS IT ALREADY OVER??
literally me
same
Same
Yep!
Every bomber man game.
They are all in there!
Great job man. I've never seen anyone cover an entire series that everyone has heard of but no one has played, and I'm not sure that it'll happen again.
8 hours well spent imo. Well done with this. God, I could only imagine taking a task this big on. Is it wrong of me to want more things like this?
I really want that Lode Runner complete history lol.
It's blowing up as of 4/2022 four over 40k views 4 far!
Yes, that was intentional. I'll never come back I promise.

Almost 70k now !
Damn, it suddenly hit 100K
I’m glad this blew up and randomly ended up in my recommended. 2 hours in and this is fantastic.
@@BigBoy257
ahhh ok, but yeah, that just make it a miss oppturnity to plug power bomberman after that lol.... cause power bomberman was the superior version lol....
The devs hate it when people make mention of the game anywhere. Something about not wanting Konami to hit them with a C&D. I dunno, I think they could be more positive about this. Trust me, I would've loved nothing more than to give them a giant shout-out, but I didn't want to bother them.
@@RifeXD
ooh I was not aware on that aspect of it. though the development has been going on for so many years now heh....
@@NCHProductions they have softened up about this in the past months though, from what I can tell. You can always ask them in their discord server.
@@NCHProductions it makes one wonder why they would make a game if they were so scared of people playing it lol
More than 8 hours of pure passion towards the Bomberman franchise!, I've never played any Bomberman game before but THIS video made me respect the series even more ( this incredible work deserves more attention, well done!👏)
Thanks!
