Many of us underestimate the challenges until we experience them ourselves. Based on my 4 years of experience in the corporate world after IIT Guwahati and IIM Calcutta, I have shared a video on Hidden Truths of Life after IIMs/IITs. You can check that out to get the real picture of jobs after graduating from colleges and understand the corporate world a little better - ua-cam.com/video/VyL_pTLUzuo/v-deo.html

Hey, data analyst profile bahut hi wide hoti hai and given you have the right skills - there is always a chance to switch to this field. Haan, starting aapko 0 se hi karna hoga - aapke past experience ka value nahi rahega iss field me but if you are okay with that then Python, SQL, Power BI - isse data analyst field me switch kar sakte ho. Try to do some courses and projects jisse aapki CV thodi improve ho jaaye

Hello your video is good enough and i hope everyone got clarity on what happens in high profile jobs.
But to be honest I’ve been working in govt sector since last 4 years and i can bet no job is perfect in this world. I can’t stay with my family. Getting frequent transfers and moreover you get to work in remote areas. So even if you get work life balance you can’t spend it with your family.
Before that I was into pwc - yes again no work life balance but yeah atleast at the end of the day you got to see your family when sleep.
I don’t know what to do

100 % True. I left a consulting job in the US and came back to India. All the time, I was moving from one hotel to another. First, I enjoyed it but after some time I was sick of it. Now in India I have small-scale business and well settled in one place with family.

Bang on Prachi it’s the same in all companies - I have worked in Amazon for 7 years, Accenture for 2 years, and an Investment bank for 2 years , and I totally relate with each and every word you said , Indian corporate structure is a messy toxic set up , no matter which company you are working for , one should really keep their spine , ego , choices , values, family time , peace of mind , back at home before joining corporate, if you think youl grow without politics and a** licking , then you are fooling yourself! Companies are just there to make money and nothing else , hence one should assess wisely if they want to be a part of corporate! Also one should Never get fooled by the lives of people working in these industries, the one that is portrayed on social media , as reality is too ugly!

I'm really fortunate to have escaped danger before paying Lakhs for an MBA. I was so fascinated with the MBA UA-cam videos that I decided consulting was the right path for me. After receiving my Btech degree I was put in one of the premier consulting company in TC role. However, after joining, I saw that it's a very messy field. Creating PPTs in a premier consulting firm is not my cup of tea. I would much rather be coming up with real tech solutions in a tech company.

Many who work in MBB don't actually tell you this, either because they feel that now they are working in MBB so complaining about it will sound stupid since initially they were dying to join one. Or they just want to tell people what amazing life they are living and make people jealous about that.
I personally think you should join a job (if you want to do a job only) where there would be balance of both money and work life balance. Only then you will be truly happy in life. Just money but no time to enjoy it will only make you dipressed and nothing else.

We can't blame the entire corporate world. But like I mentioned in one of my comments, since childhood we are encouraged to work so hard towards our goals that it becomes really difficult to give up or to even accept that there's something we might not be a good fit for, especially in India, where so many people are ready to take our place. And the pressure to keep going can make us ignore our health, both mental and physical. The hope that things will get easier if we just hang on a bit longer. It's just super important to know when to quit and what to prioritize.

This recession has exposed management consultants, as companies dont have money to hire these people anymore. Management consultancy is least respected in the corporate world and is considered a big sham. They rely on business jargon and generalistic rhetorics under the garb of providing practical solutions, and overcharge their clients having no respect for their hard earned money. Their primary aim is to pocket their client's money. Helping them is secondary and not a requirement.

Jobs in Digital marketing are increasing and a lot of conglomerates also have similar open positions. Even Amex does.
And as far as leaves are concerned, it's less likely that you'll get an entire month off without any paycut. Even for unpaid leaves, you need to get approvals and it would depend on your responsibilities + your manager. 1-2 weeks is doable in general, but anything more than that would be difficult.

Will surely come up with a video focusing on ProdMan and GenMan as well so that you guys can get a understand your choices better.
To your 3rd point, it is a general MBA but electives help you in understanding a sector better and also - you can mention your courses in your CV - which helps in placements. But there is no guarantee that you can get the electives you want - it's an altogether different process - so can't guarantee a specialization as well.

@@Nabb01 Mostly Bidding Process, you get some points in your account same as everyone, and you have to bid your points on courses. So it`s always a tradeoff between one good subject or two average subjects. And obviously, it depends on your priority.

Hlo di, I have a general ques about campus placement...If someone scored 6/6/7 in 10/12/Grad and if they studying in any one of the top Business school then does that person make into consulting?

Heyy, with weak academic scores - it would be difficult to crack top tier consulting during internship but if you perform really well during your MBA and are in the top 5-10% of the batch, you'll get consulting shortlists :)
