You still have that excitement for new things; like a kid in a candy store. Fun to see.

They are sending these things out to everyone today. Really looking forward to seeing what kind of glass this thing uses and what the CA looks like. I'm VERY leery when I see ED and then there's no description of the glass. You look great man. I sure hope you're feeling better and my prayers are always with you.

I am just glad that Svbony and now Askar/Sharpstar is sort of breaking the spell regarding budget vs quality. Anyone was around just 4-5 years ago, it was either a doublet that costs nearly $800 with a flattener and mediocre performance or thousands of dollars for a triplet, not to mention hunting down a flattener for it which may/may not was in stock or may/may not even corrected the field to begin with. So far, I own a tiny Askar guider/triplet and it's rock solid and excellent, as well as a Sharpstar branded coma corrector which is also excellent and neither cost an arm and a leg. Askar/Sharpstar is quickly becoming my favorite-trusted brand in the recent 2 years. I wish competition in the camera brands would heat up a bit too, prices are stagnating, even getting more expensive than before or units running out of stock and little to no change what's available now vs a few years ago. I'm all for competition, we can only win if we get more of it.

Hey Ben, you're looking so much better! I hope you plan on a visual review like we did with the SV550 122mm at Cherry Springs. 😁 You can always drive up and borrow mine (20 min past Williamsport) if your buddy hangs on to yours so you can do the comparison.
I just found out I have cancer so I won't be going to use the scope for a while anyways. I have other scopes anyways if the weather improves.

Hope you're doing well. Next purchase, an AM5, then a 120mm something. Right now the SVBONY 550 is interesting me. This scope intrigues me as does everything at this point😊. When re-wached the 550 review I noticed you using a non-ZWO camera with asiair. You mentioned alternative software. Did you ever do a video about this?

It's so great to see you being as happy as me, right now with three glasses of wine inside me while talking with my family I haven't seen for 6 years. I completely understand when you talk about Celesteon... I have 8HD...😂
That was one of the best unboxing telescope videos out there😂

8:50 - it would be very interesting to see a comparison video with the Svbony 122 mm vs Askar 120 mm :)

I got the 2600 MM a month ago and I just had my first clear nights of imaging last week. I'm jealous you don't have that issue 😂. Paired it up with the Askar V 80 mm Reducer and got some nice images!

Ben, vey glad to see your back making videos!!! 1 think I'm not liking on most of the Chinese scopes are the rings as even on that Askar/Sharpstar is a bit thin and maybe once the scope is all setup it will not flex? Only time will tell and looking forward to your review and I would bet it's as good or a bit better optically than the SV550 122!

i really want the askar 103 apo. Really like the idea of multiply flatterns and reducers.

Thanks for this video. I'd be interested in learning how the AM5 handles this scope, given it is slightly heavier but more compact.

If it can handle a 9" Celestron SCT, I don't think this scope would be a problem.

Do you think the vixen dovetail is completely adequate, or should I just include a Losmanty dovetail with my order of this scope? Galaxies are small😊

Tuis scope has a pretty stiff vixen rail.

I'd tell you my purchase would be influenced by your test review of this scope, but I put my order in last night.

Normally Highpoint takes about a week to deliver. I got the scope and 1X reducer today 😊.
      I have a 360mm Doublet.
Wow, this thing is big and heavy. Everything you said is true. What a beautiful well made piece!
I want to mention that my production model doesn't have degree markings on the rotator.
