Congratulations Helena.. Hopefully you've had a chance to use it. I have the exact same setup for Astrophotography, including the Starlight Xpress 694. Thank you for being such a great role model for young people like yourself. You're the future!
Thats good to know. some people said with 120 scope and other items, weight comes to about 30 pounds which might be a little much for this mount for long exposure astrophotography. But good to know it works okay
Great feeling opening new boxes! I just started astrophotography in February 2020, and my 2 daughters helped me open everything up when it arrived! I don't know who was more excited, them or me! I really need to make some videos, only posted some of my images on my website and telescopius website. Clear skies!
Jesus Christ, this was the sweetest review ever! Totally adorable! Reminds me so very much of my beautiful daughter. I will probably buy a Esprit 120 ED to her. Well done and very nice review! So good to see that astronomy also interests girls/women. This made my day.
Nice to see you love Jesus as well
Very nice. You'll be able to do some great work with that set-up. I have the Esprit 100 and really enjoy it. A great performer. I have only recently begun my journey into widefield deep sky imaging after many years of using an SCT for planetary imaging. I've really enjoyed the difference.
That was great review Helena, Ive just purchased a EQ6R Pro, only have a C5 to start with, but looking forward to the astrophotography challenge. Please keep up the vids, I look forward to your journey with the Esprit
Helena you have a wonderful mount and a very nice Esprit 120ED from Sky-Watcher. I wish you millions of light years travel with brilliant deep sky imagery. Clear Skies!
Helena. You produced a fantastic unboxing review that caught my attention. I'm getting back into astronomy for the sake of my two granddaughters; ages 5 and 4. You produced a clear and concise review which is indicative of having curiosity, desire, intelligence, and knowledge. All things needed to be good at anything to do with science; professional or amateur. The only thing I could do is to "like" and subscribe. I will have to go down a size or two for cost reasons being a pensioner.
She has the spirit of happiness unboxing, like that of a child on Christmas gift. Looking ahead for her giggles.
@Colten Griffin you mean instascam :)
great video / review, can't believe how chilled you are, me, I would have been ripping the plastic bags apart, just to see what was in them ! m now negotiating with SWMBO to purchase this mount too, good luck , look forward to more from you, clear skies, Lum. Essex
It's always exciting to get the new gear, isn't it. It's like a new way of opening one's eyes to the stars. Do you imagine, with the new harmonic drives coming out, you'll be sticking with the tried but true EQ6-R?
Your lucky if the corrector came with the kit, as no extra. On the 150 and 100 i had to purchase the (standard) corrector as extra. In Australia they get the corrector but no eyepiece.
Ps, The thread holes on top of the clamp rings are UNC threaded not mm.
Happy clear sky's
Nice Scope Helena! Congratulations!! Looks great!
Thank you Ray! Can’t wait to get out with it ⭐️🔭
Love your excitement. It's like Christmas time or you won the lottery. Ok so you have had this great set up with scope and tripod for 2 years do you feel that you have learned a lot? Beautiful scope and big. I am a little nervous about polar aligning when I get my heq5 and William optics zenithstar 81 any tips for me on polar aligment? Thank you
Nice scope! Wishing you clear dark skies!
Congratulations I love it i just bought the same mount for my Scope I have a Astro Telescopes 150/900 f/5.9 Refractor it's a old one but Great deep space scope
I am waiting for my E6Q-R to arrive on Friday. I will be mounting my new Explore Scientific FCD100 ED127mm APO triplet to it. Great video.
Many congratulations, wonderful set up.
Congratulations on your new telescope, I'm sure you'll have many wonderful sleepless nights ahead. Amateur astronomy is a passion and I wish you clear skies.
You have an excellent setup. Happy telescoping.
New to your channel and just looking to see what happened with this scope? I dont see any other video where you use it or set it up etc. Did you purchase this scope or was it gifted/loaned to you by Sky-Watcher? Keep up the great work!
The tripod legs box appears crunched/smashed a bit on the left. Hopefully, no damage.
Quality shipping!
Thanks Helena, after seeing your EQ6R pro video I'm now a happy owner, might need to start gym as its a heavyweight, but thanks, doubt I would have taken the plunge without your recommendation, Lum, Essex
That’s great to see all the important extras that come with the setup. I had to buy a lot of mine separate. I have the Red Cat 51 and love it. I have an Orion EQ-G Go to mount on order. I am using my Sky Watcher Sky Adventurer for now. I also have the Canon EOS Ra camera. It works great. I live in a Bortle 8 area but use a Optalong L-Extreme 2” filter so I can do a lot of Astrophotography in my back yard.
Great video and I am sure that you will have a great time viewing and learning about your awesome scope!! Clear skies young lady and welcome to the club and hope you continue your passion for years to come.....
Your's has a USB port on it too. No fair! Well, in all fairness I got mine in February of 2019. As for the scope, someone in a AP discussion group recommended it (Esprit ED100) and I'm very close to ordering it. Just doing some final research, giving other options a chance before I proceed.
Good luck with ordering!! You won’t regret it ;)
love your new equipment. As someone on a limited budget now I am envious. Looking forward to new videos. 👍
Nice equipment Helena, can't wait to see what you start capturing.
Thank you Chuck! ⭐️🔭
Really well made video, Helena. Nice work :)
"Do you know that new telescope smell"? No. No I don't! Great video Helena, well done.
❤️❤️❤️Thats Awesome,You Go Girl..Only Skywatcher I Have,Besides My Mount,Is The Evoguide50ed,And I Do Love That Glass, lol. We Have Newbies That Are Asking About Solar Viewing In Our Astro Group,We Just Told Him..Dont,He’s Not Ready
Same set up as AstroBackyard! I’m jealous!
Your climate is probably like mine here in the Pacific Northwest: Rainy season is late fall to late spring. This severely inhibits regular astronomy activies, but I'm waiting for clear skies this summer. I also got to move to a nicer place like Arizona with at least 300 days of clear skies, but my job currently has me "chained" to Seattle...
Really good unboxing. Congrats on a wonderful astro setup. That should serve you well for many years!
Scott
Great unboxing video and congratulations on the new telescope - clear skies!
Nice piece of kit. Jealous as heck :).
Fingers crossed that the weather in Scotland will be in your favor.
There’s nothing so exciting as new telescope day. Very nice rig.
Congrats for your equipment! BUT: I'm surprised about your EQ6R Pro mount: it has a USB port!!!!?!?!?! WHAT??? REALLY??? First time I see it! What can you do with it? Can you connect and control the mount from a PC?
Clear sky!
Got the EQ6R for about a year now. Absolutely stunning mount. Damn quite and performs every night. Have fun with it!
how much weight do you have on it?
zeeshan suleman round about 13kg I think
good to know. my setup is about 14kg so glad to hear this much works okay with this mount
Really nice video . Would love to see that rig up and running
@Helena's Astrophotography >>> At about 02:46 in this video: The side of the box says *"DO NOT DROP!"*
If that was ME doing that unboxing: My _inner klutz_ would _start getting excited._
😊😊😊
Brilliant scope
Do a video showing what you can see with it! Really cool equipment
You are so sweet! Reminds me on my daughter. Go on with that enthusiasm!
By the way: I use the same tripod. In the case youre backlash is to high for perfect guiding, there are ways ( and UA-cam videos) how to tighten the cords in the mount. This is what I had to do recently with a havy 1200 mm Newton and lots of gear on it. But you made the right decission to by, what you have. No more excuses because of inferior material! 😃
Good luck and stay interested. 😉👍
Great unboxing! I have the EQ6R-pro. Great mount. But I'm still in need of the 120ED. So this was fun to watch.
Subbed!
WOW. No wonder it was wet. What a fabulous telescope and review. That telescope is a monster!
Nice bit of kit - I'm thinking to get myself one
I'm thinking of buying this exact same setup.. Is the mount suitable for the size of the scope? What's the tracking/stability like when it's fully loaded with all your astrophotography equipment on it? Thanks..
Hi! I haven’t got to use the scope properly yet (will be very soon though) and have been using an 80mm refractor on it. But, when the Esprit was on it and I was balancing it was extremely sturdy. As for my current setup, I can’t fault the mount at all. The guiding is incredible. I’ll keep you posted on the bigger scope but the mount is incredible and I highly recommend it.
@@HelenasAstrophotography cool, thanks for getting back to me.. I'm trying to decide between the esprit 120 or the explore scientific 127 carbon fiber.. So any thoughts you have on this scope and the mount would be great.. Clear skies!!
Well, I would say the 120 due to one thing and one thing only. The longer the focal length, the smaller the fov therefore your guiding is way less forgiving. At 120mm it’s still going to have to be sharp but it’ll be better to start out with than 127 for sure. Also, 120mm will give you more options for slightly wider targets. At 127mm you are usually stuck with smaller targets. However, if that’s what you want to shoot and your guiding is already great go for the 127mm!
@@HelenasAstrophotography that is great advice and something I hadn't really considered.. Tbh the explore scientific is on my list because it looks so damn cool.. Really appreciated and please keep us updated with your experiences.. Thanks
Hey Helena! Thx again for the great vid last year. Question: how well has the whole setup tracked on that eq6-r this past year and how much weight/gear do you have on it? Best of luck in 2021!!
First time I’ve seen an unboxing that weighs more than the unboxer! Seriously though - this is exactly the same setup I am planning to order.
Awesome looking set up now well gel. 😎
nice to see you having such a good time ! Also great equipment, but how did you afford such a kit ? what is it ? close to 5-7 thousand euro/pounds ?
I am just asking because I just had my 15 years old asking me if he could have it for his birthday ...
Super AWESOME!! I watch the whole video! I wanna buy one like that! But I’m not enough space to keep it..🙈
Wow!!! The perfect equipment 🤩👌🏻
Hey Helena, thanks for sharing this, your videos are the best inspiration for newby astronomer aspirants like me. I have a question, I know super APOs are good (the best?) for astro-photograply, but are they a good ones for direct observation?
Sorry, I'm not Helena but no. They are not as good for direct observation at all as a big light bucket like a 8" - 12" Dobsonian that you'll be able to get for a similar price most likely less.
@@olliecrabtree thanks for replying, I'll take your suggestion. Unfortunatelly, everything is out of stock right now.
@@fmiranda Good luck!
I like Synscan. I have it on my Atlas EQ mount and my Orion go -to 12 inch dob. And that is an incredible scope!
‘The new telecope smell’. That’s one I hope to get familiar with. 😊
Hey! How did you build your observatory and what at cost. I was thinking of building a small one but don’t know really where to start
Excellent OTA.
Im interested in that OTA, but some sellers have with Field flattener that is included in price and others sellers say that are not included, and i need to purchase also the FF.
If is not included, why Skywatcher in his web say that FF is included with OTA?
Who lies?
The Esprit 120 doesn’t come with the FF in the box but they kindly provided it separately for me!
Very excited for you! Trevor from Astrobackyard has the same set up and makes fantastic pictures, you will love this ota setup for sure!
Actually Trevor has the Esprit 100ED
Amazing kit.. I am considering the same unless I get a Celestron 14 inch HD, much heavier and less portable..
C14 is at 4000mm focal length. Its not just weight you have to consider. You will need a high end mount for that monster.
Congrats on a fine telescope and mount. As you may know, the triplet apo is top quality equipment geared for astrophotography and visual use. This convinces me that you know exactly what you are doing and are in for many years of joy under the night sky seeing the universe we live in.
I am stuck between this scope or the SkyWatcher S11620 Traditional Dobsonian 10-Inch, I want to get into astrophotography. what do you recommend?
I haven’t had enough experience with the Esprit yet to be able to recommend it. However, I would thoroughly recommend the 10” for an amateur astrophotographer. However, it depends what you’d like to get in to. I feel like jumping straight to an Esprit for deep sky before having experience with another scope is risky but it’s up to you! Hope this helps ⭐️
It really is a fantastic scope! :)
Wow, good for you, your going to love that setup, cheers
Very nice telescope. I used to have a Astrophysics 130EDT bought in 1991 when I was 21 years old, now I am 49 with no telescope :(
it's great and contagious your passion keep on
Excellent equipment. I am impressed to see how you assemble this set. You are a very strong girl 👍👍👍😃😃😃 .
Congratulations! Looks like a great piece of kit and there’s no doubt you’ll make the most of it xx
Congratulations and enjoy!
How does the 120mm at f/7 compare to the 100mm that is f/5.5?
Great video!! very useful..🙂
Magnifique cette lunette magnifique merci pour ta vidéo moi j'ai l évostar 72ed pour la photo elle est super🔭😀
Grats on the New Rig! Should keep you busy for some time!
I sold my 110mm triplet APO a few years ago, and if I ever got back into astronomy, I doubt I'd tolerate anything less. Once you experience the sharpness and lack of CA, anything else looks like purple fringe soup.
Who the fuck would thumbs down this video?
I have only just come upon your channel tonight. You have very impressive high end equipment, it will ultimately serve you well and it will be worth the money. When I was your age, I specially imported the very best made in the U.S.A. telescopes and equipment. This made it possible for me to take astrophotographs of exceptional quality, like yours and they were published in America. I also conducted star parties with thousands turning up to see the performance of the best equipment at the time. I'm sure you will be very successful and I will continue to follow your channel.
wow that looks great
It looks pretty hope you capture more beautiful images, keep growing....Clear skies
Nice telescopie. Congratulations.
Yay
I have this scope and it was a real game changer for me! Excellent bit of kit.
Fun to look back through your older videos like this. You’ve apparently always been a fireball. This was well done and you’ve only gotten better. Onto first light.
I like your enthusiasm. 🤓
Great unboxing and love your enthusiasm....best of luck.
Wonderful review, you should make followup vids
whats it like im thinking of getting one and whats the eq6r mount like
Cannot decide between a Skywatcher and William Optics.
SW all the way
Diese Esprit Apos sind sehr gute Refraktoren und haben eine sehr gute Abbildung.Herzlichen Glückwunsch zu diesen Teleskop.Die EQ 6.R macht die Sache Bombensicher.
Great scope and mount!
What's your day job? I need to make that kind of money too!
😄
no shit ...
Skywatcher gave her them for free
I think the explore scientific fcd 100 carbon fiber tube for a bit lower price is better
Hi Helena. I love your videos and your happiness! I wish to have a telescope like yours, but right now I cannot afford it. I would like to upgrade my skywatcher dob 8 inch with something that allow me to do nice astrophotography with longer exposure. What do you advice to me as I'm a biginner/intermediate?
Greetings from Edinburgh
Love new fun stuff!
Well Done, Wish you many Clear Sky Nights. Cheers 🔭🇦🇺🏴
#68th like 👍great unboxing and a pretty nice telescope too...I'm sure you will have many exciting stargazing nights with your new telescope ☺
Now that you’ve had the Skywatcher mount for awhile do you still like it?
It is fantastic! Can’t fault it.
gosh she got some muscles to lift all that gear, well done. Im looking at purchasing this scope.
nice telescope. i hope you will have a lot of fun with it
Very nice , i bet you cant wait for first light ( hm clouds) ok maybe in a few days .
Yeah, of course it is cloudy for the rest of the week!!
I bet astrophotography is tough in Scotland. Isn’t it cloudy most of the year there?
It sure is! Waiting for the clouds to break. Hopefully next week will be better luck.
Helena's Astrophotography I hope so too!
Yes, it's painfully cloudy here much of the time, but it's the changeability that's the worst thing. It can go from clear, to cloudy, to rainy, to rainy & windy, and back to clear, in the space of a few hours.
@@HelenasAstrophotography columbus ohio has bad weather also cloudy state
I have a 150 Esprit. You will love the quality of these scopes.
cool!
