Berwick-upon-Tweed is a town in the northernmost part of Northumberland, England, situated on the east coast at the mouth of the River Tweed. It is located just 2.5 miles south of the Scottish border and is the northernmost town in England. Berwick-upon-Tweed has a rich and varied history, having been fought over between England and Scotland numerous times through the centuries. The town has changed hands between the two countries 13 times since the 12th century, making it one of the most fought-over towns in European history. Today, Berwick-upon-Tweed is a popular tourist destination, offering visitors a range of attractions including Elizabethan walls, the Maltings Theatre and Arts Centre, and a picturesque harbour. The town is also home to a number of festivals and events throughout the year, including the Berwick Film and Media Arts Festival and the Berwick Food and Beer Festival.

All looks pretty !!!! EXCEPT ………… town centre looks so scruffy , pavements , shop windows etc covered in seagull poo , just wait till eggs hatch out and it will be a no go area ! When is the council going to wake up and do something ! God help anyone eating outside !
