  • Wade Ray was born, Lyman Wade Ray on April 13, 1913 in Evansville, Indiana. and sadly passed away on November 11, 1998 in Sparta, IL.✝️
    Wade “Pappy” Ray was an American Country Western Swing fiddler player and singer.🎻🎶🎤 who recorded for RCA Victor Records, ABC-Paramount Records, Antenna Records, Toppa Records, Fabor Records, London Records, Dot Records, Benfor valley Records and Cow Town Records.
    Chat Atkins produced an album entitled "Down Yonder. The Country Fiddlers" which was backed by bluegrass instrumentation.
    Wade Ray started his career as a child performer and during his long career worked with numerous artists, including Pappy Cheshire's National Champion Hillbillies, the Prairie Ramblers, Sons of the Pioneers, Ray Price, Willie Nelson and many others.❤️🎶
    He also had a brief solo career during the 1950s and managed the Renfro Valley Barn Dance, 1967-1970.
    The song I chose “Even At My Best” was recorded and released in 1965 on Antenna Records, and was written by Hank Cochran and Moneen Carpenter.🎶
    Wade Ray is also a US Army veteran and is laid to rest at Ellis Grove City Cemetery in Ellis Grove Illinois.🙏🇺🇸
