What is ASMR?
To me, ASMR is 2 things: a sensation and a medium (like music for example).
The sensation itself (ASMR) stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering, personal attention or watching someone perform a task. It's like goosebumps, but much more pleasant.
ASMR videos, the medium, are not only meant to help induce the sensation or "tingles" in the viewer, but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer. They often help those dealing with anxiety, stress, headaches, insomnia, mental health issues, concentrating, studying and more. It is quite therapeutic, for both the creator and recipient, which is not that much different than the mediums of music and painting, for example.
Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy effect.

I don't experience ASMR from any videos so far, but I find many of them very pleasant and relaxing to watch anyway.
Am I supposed to laugh? Your videos are very creative. In real life, tin foil hat people make me just nod, smile, and slowly try to back away. I have a neighbor who cornered me in the garage telling me the FBI was monitoring him and the whole neighborhood. Then he started telling me his 9/11 conspiracy theory. Usually Truthers really piss me off, but something told me to just try to end the conversation as politely as possible. But then you can't fall asleep because you can't lay on the side without your headphones squishing one of your ears so you take the headphones off and lay them on top of the ear facing up so you can hear it in one ear, but then you want to flip over and your headphones drop down on the floor and you have to take it up and then you're tired of it so you put them on your bedside table and try to put your phone there too, but then you remember that you should turn off wifi to save battery so you do that and close the app and then put it in silent mode so nobody disturbs your sleep. Then you can finally lay it back on the table and go to sleep.
