Hi Robbie, many thanks for this great work again! i must say this has to be one of the best lawn channels on youtube here! And you are the only person who recommends watering in after liquid application. Great Thanks keep up the great work !!
Hi dave, thanks. I always recommend reading the label of the products and follow that advice first 👍💪🙂
Great to see your demo of liquid fert. My lawn is growing like crazy and PGR is a bit (a lot!) out of budget. Going to try spoon feeding with a small amount of urea solution in the sprayer plus plenty of watering in.
Very informative thanks again for another great video Robbie 👍
Thanks Mike 🙂
Great video. You’re the only person I’ve seen who mentions the importance of watering in liquid seaweed. I’ve seen many a lawn burnt by not watering it in.
Yep 😁
Lawn is looking lush💪🏻👍🏻
Thanks Mike, have you joined the facebook group yet?
spot on as always mate 👍
Thanks Greg
Great to see your Dad put to work and he never even got lost! ;)
Haha, I will pass on your regards
Really interesting and informative video Robbie, i've started using liquid lawn fertilizers on some of the lawns i work on, partly because some areas don't get much water and other areas are prone to drying out quickly. The results have been fantastic.
Good to hear ☺️
Lawn is looking mint Robbie!
Thank you 👍❤️
I learn better when I know WHY I do things. So I'm always happy with how you explain stuff.
Del I like to keep thing simple 👍 like myself lol 😆
@@Premier_lawns_official Hahaha!
Another great video Robbie, I use a mix of iron and seaweed during the dry weather , it works a treat. Thanks for the tips. 👍🏻
Good stuff
Good advice
Glad it was helpful!
Great simple explanation for people to use for reference Robbie👍

@@Premier_lawns_official its beauitful!
Wait until you see it next week
Great video. A little off topic but I have used algae green for earthworm control on my putting greens. It drives them deeper into the soil. A lot of insecticide are being banned in Canada so it’s a new product for me. Always interesting to see a product I know and use. Stay green
Hey John that's pretty interesting, I didn't know it did that 👍 the earthworms caused havoc on the lawn over the winter. I will have to see if it works for me too.
Another great video. Keep up your great work. Our lawn could do with the Dandelions and glover etc being dealt with 🤔
Thanks!
Hi Robbie, moved into a new house in the winter and have managed to get the very sad lawn almost perfect and flat this year after years of neglect but the biggest issue I'm finding at the moment is ants, every day a new ant hill causing areas of the lawn to sink when you step on them! Any recommendations? And of course thank you for another excellent and informative video!
Definitely liking the more relaxed presenting style on this one Robbie, I appreciate it takes time and can be tricky when working etc, thanks for the vid. How long after sowing would you introduce seaweed? Does it need to be 6mths with most liquid feeds?
I would apply the seaweed at the time of seeding. Re filming, can takes ages to film stuff. My lawn is beside a busy road and more often than not your half way through a sentence and a lorry blasts by at 60mph
Hi quick question. I’m aerating, scarifying, levelling my neighbours garden and I’m going to add seeds after. At what point should I add pre seed fertiliser? At the same time I lay the new seeds or should I wait a while. Keep up the good vids
ive been using biobizz fish mix once a week..and its cheap...npk 5-1-4..high in potassium but its organic so its hard to overdose
Great channel and sound advice. I recently tried Yara Sulphur Sward, which is a grazing land fertiliser 27-4-4 + 10% Sulphur. Excellent results. Bye bye redthread. Most soils are lacking in Sulphur so its a winner.
Plenty of N in that, i hope you like cutting grass :)
@@Premier_lawns_official thats what the John Deere loves doing!!
Great video as always rob. Grass grass growing like mad here in Chester north west of England.
Here too 🙂 nice to see at last!
And here on the Wirral, just up from Chester.
Tim I live 7 miles from Chester and great view Robbie
Robbie, what can I use to get rid of buttercups in my lawn?
Great video as always 👌🏻 What heights will you be going to with the mower, when you drop the high?
The lower we go, the more often it will need cut. So a lot of that depends on my old man as he will be cutting it
Haha ~ crop circles ~ but good to mow by directional ~sea weed fert 👍👍
😊💥👌🌱
What about ya Robbie great video
What about you Finn :)
Hi Robbie Your videos are always well Structured and Presented in a very casual but very precise manner. Having never sprayed liquid fertiliser before I was wondering whether I could use my CP Manual sprayer with handle or do I need to buy a battery operated one for a more consistent Application ?
Hi Alan, no your CP sprayer will be fine
@@Premier_lawns_official thank you , just need to follow your formula to calculate and will be good to go 👍
Hey Robbie I seen this video and got some seaweed for my lawn I put it down 2 days ago with my regular feed in my sprayer I feed my lawn every 4-6 weeks just wounding I seen things that you can put the seaweed down every 2 weeks on it’s own would this damage my lawn or just use it every 4-6 weeks with my regular feeding. PS my lawn it’s looking great thanks to ur videos ur a genius keep them videos coming pal 👍
Haha genius is a bit much, I'm just a bloke with a camera and lawnmower lol. Do the seaweed with every feed 👍😊
@@Premier_lawns_official no seriously I’ve read books and other videos and urs are spot on everything u say in ur videos is down to the tee since I’ve been watching ur videos me lawn has never looked better 👍
Thanks for the video. The seaweed you recommended in another video has turned my lawn lovely and dark green. Question for a relative. Is it too late to take the lawn with a scarifier? (Scarifier blades off and rake blades on) thanks.
Yes I think so
Good advice, but I would recommend also showing results a day or two after. I also use iron for green up.
It was a struggle getting this video out in time this week.
Great channel Robbie.
I'm using A1 Spring/Summer, and Autumn/Winter fertilisers (2 applications per season). Should/do I need to use iron sulphate and when?
Thanks
I don't know anything about those products sorry
@@Premier_lawns_official thanks for replying. When do you recommend using fertiliser, and iron?
Really enjoyed the video, I'm always learning. Question how often do you fertilise over a going season. 👍👽
Probably every few weeks, little and often
@@Premier_lawns_official ist possible to do a short video on how you would do this. I only bought fertiliser that says once every 6 to 8 weeks. Some even longer. Thanks
@@littlegreenman.6197 as the summer goes on we will cover it in more detail.
@@Premier_lawns_official thank you.
Robbie!
We had our lawn done from scratch by a landscaper at the end of March. You know yourself we got an unusual amount of frost up to the middle of May.
Problem now is, we have 3/4 acre of nothing but weeds. It’s like a full cabbage patch with very very little grass. I’ve mowed it now a couple of time but the grass is really struggling.
What do you think? Does it need a full re-do? Thanks!
Robbie talk to your landscaper 👍
Another great video many thanks. I watched you renovate the lawn and having just had a sewage treatment plant installed in my garden the diggers and dumper truck pretty well ruined the lawn so I started over. One question is how long should you wait to add fertiliser to a newly seeded lawn? Mine is now 8 weeks from germination and has been cut 3 times. I hear some say wait 6 months before adding fertiliser and others say stat after about 8 weeks. Whats your advice?
I would have fed it once the seeds went down... Anytime now would be good. Have a read through the video description and use the link and discount code for the cavair, you can thank me later
@@Premier_lawns_official I will indeed! I did use a pre-seed fertiliser it was just the post germination that there seemed to be contradictory advice - but that's the internet for you I guess👍
Hi Robbie , I moved into my house last year and first job (pre house renovation ) was the lawn It was originally mostly moss . Scarified the death out of it then. It's had 3 tonne of top soil added to try and level it off . Seeded the whole lot as there was next no original grass showing after. Now it's all come through quite nicely although I'm still over seeding to try and get the grass thickened. Issue I have is the lawns absolutely teaming with weeds and I mean teaming ... The lawns relatively big at 20mx10. I've hand picked some of it but every time I go to mow and look at it there's just more and more... Mostly dandelions and clover(I think) 26 years old so not up on my weed knowledge . Now with the lawn being constantly so young I can't apply weedkiller . Is patients my only option here ? Hope you can help I've done most of it so far from your videos but I've no idea what I can do from now . Thanks Alex
Don't fret the weeds. Ignore them for now and let the lawn establish. Treat them in the autumn
@@Premier_lawns_official thankyou very much for your advice robbie !
do you run you battery strimmer on low mode mostly or high mode? and what battery do you think best suits it? do you use any of the milwaukee high demand or high output battery
Low mode is still surprisingly strong. It's good around areas that have stones. Generally we use the 9amp battery as I also use the fuel blower with a 9 too. Out on the grass run we get all day out of them unless it's really damp.www.milwaukeetool.eu/en-eu/m18-90-ah-battery/m18-b9/
I reserved my lawn last autumn and gave it a does of preseed fertiliser in early spring when we started to get rain. Is it OK to go with a liquid seaweed now to green it up as starting to turn a lighter green now
Yes
I have some 6 9 6 pre seeding granular fertiliser left over form when I scarified and reseeded. Can I use this monthly and is it more controlled as compared to higher number fertilisers. Thanks
You can use that all summer, no probs 👍
Contemplating buying a cylinder mower, would love for you to make a video about it mate, please. Thanks.
What do you need to know?
Buy it. Cut higher to begin with.
Hi Robbie...
I use a moss and seaweed fertiliser always works well ... Robbie how many times do you use the liquid sea weed Fertiliser.
Great vid as always.
B
Seaweed is good to put on any time you are feeding the lawn
@@Premier_lawns_official Wow that was quick... many thanks for the reply.. lawn season well underway now.
Thank you for you input on these vids.... much appreciated!

@@bbr9707 no probs, its you guys that help me decide on what to talk about and what I need to cover in my vids. Hope you have a great weekend
Can different liquid treatments be mixed to apply in one application?
That's going to depend on what you are using. Most can, but you should always read the label as some can't
Hi Robbie. What liquid fertiliser did you use with the Algae Green? Was it from same company?
Hi Peter, the link for it is in the video description 👍
hi pal what weed killer and grass feed can I use on my lawn what is safe for my dog
Hi David it should say on the label 👍
My lawn was lush green and looked like Wembley last week. Now it’s patchy and browning in areas....any ideas?
Cut to short, to dry, disease, fertiliser leaching, not enough info
When you're applying liquid fert, how do you prevent it from striping or overlapping, also what type of nozzle have you got on the sprayer?
Paul once I apply fertilisers, I apply at half rate, but put it on double (Do the area twice)
Just realised that the application rate is 1 millitre per square metre, so dead easy to work out how much you need.
Yep 👍❤
I have to admit, when you did 10l (10,000ml) divided by 10,000 on a calculator.... Doh!
Need a vid on ant control!!! Things have ruined my lawn :(
A stiff brush
@@Premier_lawns_official Really appreciate the reply matey.
I used to be so anal over the lawn. Full load of 40 odd ton of top soil from British Sugar and a digger craned over the house to level it etc. I remember that summer very well! lol. Done the graft myself.
Anyway 5 kids later and working 60 hours a week has taken its toll. This isn't the odd ant mound. I'm talking 100's of nests. Around a 600 sqm lawn.
@@leerolfe5332 sounds like a disaster movie
I honestly haven't dealt with ants in a lawn before, have you tried dishwasher
@@Premier_lawns_official Just got some proper Borax delivered to make a mix. I think they really like the quality topsoil and have made a super centre! Both red and black.
Really made a mess over the few years hiatus I've had from the lawn.
A few things about your liquid approach. Are you trying to hit a N number or are you mainly concerned about just getting coverage? Have you considered using liquid Humic along with the kelp?
There was humic in there 👍
Hi Robbie, What height of cut do you have set?
We are at 20mm right now
Yes, its looking excellent. its just like a carpet. i cut mind 3 times a week and now cut at 20mm.
Is 10:10:20 okay for your lawn?
Boss, my lawn was fairly long, and I cut it, it’s now gone a yellow colour. What should I do? Based in the UK.
Not enough info, best answer is it will come back (Depends on how long it was, and how short it is now though)
@@Premier_lawns_official 12inch, cut down to 2-3inch
Can you tell me what lawnmower you are using?
My lawnmower is around 30 years old, it is a john deere greens mower
Wis Bella, is a nice Dog, i have a Bella Dalmatiener.😁
NicE!
Heya I Use prokleen green grass have you ever used it?
Nope, not yet
It’s defo makes the grass greener
Where is the seaweed available for trade use? Thanks
Best to contact them direct 👍
Hi Robbie, where can I get the liquid seaweed, anywhere local sell it?
I will be able to help you with that shortly 🤫😉
Bank Holiday on Monday so have a bit of work planned
What about you Robbie, this might be a stupid question but do you need a license or something to use that seaweed product?
I don't believe you need a ticket for seaweed, though I may be wrong!
What’s the best height to cut ur lawn Robbie
Hi steven, that depends on your lawn and a few other things. This video should help you answer that question
ua-cam.com/video/Y9LVqCIOVRg/v-deo.html
@@Premier_lawns_official thanks Robbie lawn looks great thanks to ur videos
Hi Robbie is there a liquid nitrogen fertiliser you would recommend?
There are links in the video description :)
You can get Ammonium Sulphate from Elixir Gardens on Amazon UK, 450g of that dissolved in 4 litres of water per 100m2. Apply every two weeks in the growing season.
@@xiiflawless yep can do that, though lots of sulphate isn't good for the grass
@@Premier_lawns_official I’ve looked in the video links and I’m not sure which one it is, sorry to be a pain
@@Premier_lawns_official Sulphate is mobile in the soil and will typically leach at a similar rate to the nitrate.
Good video Robbie. I don't know about Northern Ireland but here in the UK I have seen a huge increase in ant nests in lawns. Mowed one yesterday, only laid 6 weeks ago. Then came the rain for 3 weeks. I reckon there must be at least 15 nests in the thing! Whats your go-to for ants??
napalm
@@ThePhil543 not the helpful reply I was hoping for.
ok im off to benone to get seaweed.lol
Haha good man 👍❤
Never ever watered any liquid feed. That’s why it’s called foliar feeding. If anything you want it to stick the leaf.
Thanks for the feedback ☺️
@@Premier_lawns_official Glad to advise 👍
What about ya! Is a nitrogen fertiliser like this the best for treating clover in a lawn?
Not sure to be honest
A selective herbicide removing white clover will solve your problem.
2 4 d, chemical. if you can get it
More like 1L
So, give it some lawnfeed then. Not hard is it? 8 minutes for that? Blimey.
Thanks for the feedback 🙂
Can't understand a word this guy is saying
That's why we have English subtitles 😉😂
