- Balls to the Wall is the fifth album by the German heavy metal band Accept. European label Lark Records released the album in December 1983, but its US release was delayed until a month later in January 1984 as to not compete with the band's then-current album Restless and Wild, which had arrived in the US in early 1983. It is Accept's only record to attain Gold certification in America. The album's lead single, "Balls to the Wall", became Accept's signature tune and remains a metal anthem and trademark in the genre
U.D.O. is a German heavy metal band founded by lead singer Udo Dirkschneider in 1987After Udo Dirkschneider left Accept in 1987, a large fan community followed him to U.D.O
Stefan Kaufmann joined Accept's singer Udo Dirkschneider in his band U.D.O. as guitar player in 1996, following Accept's second breakup, and has recorded seven albums with them. On 13 September 2012, it was announced that Kaufman has ceased playing in U.D.O. for health reasons, though he will continue to work with the band in other capacities.[
Stefan Kaufmann joined Accept as drummer early enough to appear on the cover photos for their debut album, but too late to record the drums for the album (that was done by Frank Friedrich). After drumming on nine albums, he had to give up drumming towards the end of Accept's career due to health problems.
Kaufmann has produced the live albums Staying a Life and All Areas - Worldwide for Accept and contributed significantly to Accept's songwriting.He has worked extensively as a record producer for other bands. He produced or co-produced every U.D.O. album from 1990 until 2011.
During his tenure with Accept, Kaufmann used Tama drums. He was also one of the first drummers to use Meinl cymbals when they became widely manufactured and sold in the late 1970s.

Hell Yeah I love U.D.O and Accept I’m 21 going on 22 later this year and I’ve loved Rock And Metal since I was a kid when my Dad got me into classic rock n roll and heavy metal Udo Dirkschneider is one of my favourite metal singers I saw U.D.O Live 2 years ago here in Edmonton on March 16th 2018 at The Starlite Room when they played Accept songs for the last time it was a great show and I’ll always forever love rock and metal until the day I die🤘

Putin finally congratulates Biden on US election victory

Moscow(CNN)Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Joe Biden on his victory in the US presidential election Tuesday, six weeks after the vote and a day after the Electoral College officially affirmed Biden's win.
While many world leaders congratulated President-elect Biden within days of the election, the Kremlin said at the time that it deemed it "correct" to wait for the official results before Putin congratulated the winner.
"Vladimir Putin wished the President-elect every success and expressed confidence that Russia and the United States, which bear special responsibility for global security and stability, despite their differences can truly contribute to solving many problems and challenges that the world is currently facing," a Kremlin readout said on Tuesday.
Putin noted that "Russian-American cooperation based on the principles of equality and mutual respect would meet the interests of people in both countries as well as the entire international community."
"For my part, I am ready for cooperation and contacts with you," the Russian President said.

The outreach to the incoming administration comes amid news that may further strain US-Russian relations, following a CNN-Bellingcat investigation that identified Russian specialists who trailed Putin's main political opponent, opposition leader Alexey Navalny. It also comes as US officials scramble to respond to a massive data breach attributed to Russian hackers.
It's also a marked contrast to 2016, when the Kremlin congratulated US President Donald Trump within hours of the race being called, but Biden's administration will have a very different attitude towards Russia.
Trump lavished praise on Putin during his presidency, stoking suspicion over his campaign's possible connection to Russian meddling in the election. The same cozy relationship cannot be expected with Biden, who has vowed to treat foreign interference "as an adversarial act."
"Biden will work hard with partners and allies to push back on whatever Russia is up to, whether it's trying to assassinate Russian citizens overseas, or kill their own opposition leaders like the alleged attempt with [Alexey] Navalny in Siberia, or activities in Syria, Crimea, etc.," Karin von Hippel, director-general of the Royal United Services Institute, told CNN in the wake of the election last month. "So I do think he [Putin] knows that there will be much more of an effort to try to contain Russia."
Russia has had a free hand for some years now -- including at the end of President Barack Obama's years in office -- according to von Hippel, a former nonpolitical senior adviser at the State Department under the Obama administration.
In late October, Biden called Russia "the main threat" to US national security in an interview with 60 Minutes on CBS. Kremlin spokesman Peskov responded by saying that such rhetoric amplified "hatred towards the Russian Federation."
In the run-up to the election, the two countries did not reach a deal to extend a key arms reduction treaty signed by Presidents Obama and Dmitry Medvedev in 2010 -- which the Trump administration was pushing for ahead of election day.
Putin previously indicated that he sees strategic treaties as one of the potential points for cooperation with Biden.

Perhaps some of you 80's metal heads will remember this: In around 1983-84 there was this show that came on at midnight on Friday night called Metal Shop. It was syndicated nationally and they talked about the latest metal news, played some of the new tracks and just basically rocked for an hour. They had Dave Murray on for an interview and at the end, whoever was the guest got to pick the heaviest new track out. He picked this. It was the first time I had heard it. I was at Karma the next day getting the cassette and some new screens for my pipe...ahh...the good ol' 80's metal scene. Nothing ever quite like it.

That intro still feels like a slap across the face, even after all these years! One thing about us metal heads old and young is that we never judge or criticize each other, not over appearance not over anything except maybe stupid behavior but that's it. Substance, talent and attitude over approved image. This is what separates metal from many other styles of music and invites everyone who feel alike together to have awesome time. So please no more "He looks like" comments.

I remember when the video for this song came out and I had one of your first WTF moments of my life when that intro riff kicked in. Udo is an underated metal singer in my opinion and he should be mentioned up there with the best.

Having listened to UDO and his new band and Accept with the new singer both singing balls to the wall......no question that UDO wins every time. Some songs should only be sung by original guys. UDO keep on performing this song for another decade. Nobody else can lead the ohhho ohhhho like UDO.
Robert Miller Ich bevorzuge auch Udo, aber bei den aktuellen Accept ist halt der Wolf Hoffmann ein exzellenter Leadgitarrist und technisch den Udo-Gitarristen hoch überlegen. Für mich haben beide Gruppen und beide Sänger Daseinsberechtigung. Meistens liegt es einfach daran, daß man über Jahre ein Lied nur mit einem Sänger gewohnt ist und nicht mit einem andere akzeptieren will/kann/mag. Kein Problem, ich mag beide :-)

But on the other late for me now U.D.O. and ACCEPT are two different bands and in my opinion a different style. For me as songwriter and technical guitarplayer Wolf Hoffmann is awesome. The style of ACCEPT for me is more a hymn Hardrock. UDO for me is pure rock. A little bit different, I prefer Udo Dirkschneider, but I like also the new ACCEPT. The last album of ACCEPT is awesome in my ears.

Back in 1992 I had just been stationed in Sandhofen/Mannheim, Germany and I was fortunate enough to go to Monsters of Rock in 1992 and Super Rock in 1992 in Mannheim. One week apart or something like that. Wacken and Monsters were at the same time I think and I couldn't be in two places at once. So, I had to wait until 1993. I was in Metal Heaven that is for sure. Any show you want to see, you just hop the ICE or rent a car and away you go.

Saw this band twice. Saw them with Iron MAIDEN and once with Kiss. They were a kick ass band. Saw UDO bust his ass on stage, he got right back up and kept singing.
Udo is truly something different.. AND I LOVE IT!!!
