      Actually, he is talking about the National Blue Sponge. When boosted with the correct National Haifu booster, it actually does play a lot like D09c. Only difference is that D09c will give you a bit more from using less effort and the H3 National Blue Sponge boosted will give you more spin at the top end.
      Now, if you compared any other version of the H3 to D09c, then yes, you would be correct in saying they are quite different. However, he's specifically talking about the National Blue Sponge. And in case you don't know: The National Blue and the Provincial Blue might as well not even be considered the same rubbers. The National Blue is nothing like everything from the commercial H3 up to the Provincial Blue. It doesn't matter if you boost them properly either. The National Blue is a totally different rubber.

    I've used H3 bluesponge National, H3 commercial, Yinhe M Star, and 729 Battle Max Pro. I have a conclusion that the closest alternative to H3 bluesponge is Yinhe M Star base on its speed, spin, and tackiness. 729 Battle pro max is little bit less tacky but still have similar amount of spin to H3 blue.

    I've played h3 blue sponge for quiet some time. And is actually trying the 09c to compare with the H3. The feeling and control of H3 is undoubtly far beyond 09c. The slow and spinny bal that you can produce with H3 is something out of the range of 09C as the tensor will always kick in. The hardness of 09c is comparable to a H3 heavily boosted. 09C is in H3 standard a soft rubber. To make the change from H3 to 09C it really is confusing as the power i'm used to is gone. Playing with 09c is takes less effort, but adopting another technique of hitting the ball is required. As you have to learn to deal with the springe sponge. End power of 09c is flatten out quickly, hower most of the time enough to win the point.

      Almost all cnt players boost their rubbers quite heavily, almost all of them use 3 layers of Haifa booster and 3 layers of glue. So their rubber is just slow enough to retain the characteristics and fast enough to win points with quality

  • @galaxismtg7722
    @galaxismtg7722 Рік тому +2

    Sorry but these are bad recommendations as all these rubbers have a high throwing angle and that of Hurricane 3 is very low. The Dignics 09c is an attempt to make the Chinese rubbers playable for the European market, but the swan would be made a little more sluggish and the throwing angle would be adjusted to that of a 05 and the topshet would be made slightly sticky. so that the European player (Timo Boll) can still play with this rubber. The other alternatives presented in the video are just copies of the Dignics 09c. However, Hurricane 3 has a completely different sponge and topshet than Dignics, making him much more controllable. A hybrid is not Chinese rubber. Hurricane 3 commercially is half as expensive as other supposedly European alternatives.

    I play Friendship 729 Origin Soft on forehand. Which actually doesn't mean not soft. It is custom-made. It has the same sponge, just better quality. The rubber has very good control and produces good spin. Catapult is rather mediocre and plays more linearly. Active and passive blocking is very pleasant. What's interesting is that passive blocking really slows things down. This covering is suitable for table use. Of course you can also play it half distance. There's a bit of power missing.

      @ajtatosmano2 Рік тому +7

      that was a red flag for me as well. there is also a considerable amount of bs in these videos. Advantages: speed???? They are not just slower, they are straight up slow! Pro players boost them with 3 layers of booster, and many of them use much more extreme boosters than falco long. They long last for amateurs, but pro players change them every week. The provincial ones cost the same as esn rubbers (depending where you live) and the national ones cost the same as dignics or even more. Many people prefer tensor rubbers because they don’t want to mess with boosting, which often may result in bubbling (topsheet coming off the sponge).

      agreed - but i think what he meant to say is the TOP speed is not limited by the rubber as much. The rubber itself is much less bouncey/ fast at normal speeds. Maybe it's his communication issue, I do think he's quite experienced in equipment stuff, but some things are off for sure, like playing a rubber for 2 years... wth? @@ajtatosmano2

    • @ajtatosmano2
      @ajtatosmano2 Рік тому +3

      @@table_tennis_fever No, he showed that with the graph. But it's simply a myth. In the past it was true, because european rubbers were much softer. Nowadays even on the backhand side most people use 50 degree rubbers. Ofc, if you look at CNT player's rackets, they are boosted so heavily that it seems like the rubber wants to jump off the blade...The reason why CNT is using the chinese rubbers is because with boosting it grabs the ball really well in the high speed topspin to topspin rallies, giving it high stability. Players use the D09c for the exact same reason, except it's more familiar to them. And spin is generally speaking is higher on chinese rubbers.
      This sport is full of myths because the feeling is highly personal. Also, just by looking at things yo can get many things wrong. For example many people say how spinny was Waldner's game and that's why he was so great. Turns out, as Timo Boll said in an interview that it's really hard to play against Waldner because his loops are so empty that he returned them into the net. It's not like he couldn't spin the ball, but heused it much like Möregardh uses his BH punch.

    Dear Emrathich !
    Thank you for your good piece of advice. But the best similarity with H3 blue sponge you did not
    even mention: the Nittaku Hurricane Pro III Turbo Orange ! Please read my comment in revspin under
    the name "zimike " .You can not tell this from the H3 blue sponge in a blind test.Mima Ito tried this rubber
    but it was a too big challenge for her too and she skipped this rubber in the end .It is hard to get used to this rubber.
    This rubber is very close to the original national Hurrican 3 with bluesponge ! .It is a dream rubber on my Photino blade (7mm thick ZLF blade) You can do everything with this rubber if you give yourself enough time. I've been playing with this rubber for 5 years.

      @gorogimre2 and @Emratich I am very curious about a good alternative or even real chinese rubber for the BH!. I was looking over the whole internet on this topic but didn't find much on it. Is the orange one from Nittaku III turbo suited also (or just) for BH? My list so far looks like this:
      1. H3 neo provincial 37' orange sponge
      2. Nittaku Hurricane Pro III Turbo Orange
      3. H 8-80
      4. Dignics 09c
      5. Rakza-Z
      6. H 3-50
      7. Friendship 729 Battle II
      Which one is more suited for BH and what are the pros and cons? I just got H3 neo provincial 41 boosted on FH and come from playing ESN Rubbers on both sides (Hammond Z2). I try to get spin&control but in the same time not to lose a lot of speed. On the FH i can get used to the more demanding weight transfer to generate it, but what about on BH? Thanks!

    Hey coach. I bought a new Battle 2 and have it for about 2 weeks now. However the topsheet feels really slippery as if it's really moist (but it is not) and nothing helps to make this gobaway. The rubber is not tacky at all and topspins are very difficult

      Hey , I have similar problem. I play with Hurricane 3 Neo and noticed it becomes slippery after I play a few games. I was wondering if European or Japanese rubbers play better in high humidity.

      @@dimers66 It depends. Some Euro/Japan rubbers have better grip than others. What does help is having a soft topsheet which usually means more contact time. And also, people who spin a lot will struggle more than people with more flat hitting techniques. I solved the problem for my rubber. I did some ironing. Put a sheet of paper between the rubber and the iron, heat it but don't melt the rubber so be careful. Also, after each match put a plastic sheet on the rubber if you didn't already. Hope this helps

      I read somewhere, 'glide' or 'slippy' effect seems to be common reported by players using chinese sticky rubber. I have encountered this many times as well, still have no clue how it could happen. Even when I read the ball well.
      Anyone know the reason?

      I have it, moving from Rakza Z. Doesn't feel tacky to me and seems like any other European rubber to me.
