    In Australia we use an identical setup at the back which I think your the only one showing us on UA-cam. I might use the blue light switch for my elderly parents.

    A great product. The enclosed instructions explain how to wire the LED to illuminate when the switch is on, the switch is off or to be always on.

    Great videos mate. I grew up in a time when girls did not learn a lot of basic DIY skills of this type. The only 'life skills' I learned at school were cooking and sewing. I've successfully used your videos to change the light fightings and a few switches in my home without problem. Thanks.

    Illuminating when the switch is on makes total (common) sense!
    I should be illuminating my 1st switches this week, but since it’s for a 3 gang plate, I think I’ll just keep them lit up all the time, but if I was doing a single light switch, I’d do it your way.

    Hi Dave, this work well on a single switch, but how does it work in a two way switch? I like to have the blue light on when the main light is off. and the blue light need to off when the main light is on. The 2 terminal is in use already. could you please help with that please? thanks

      Hi there, unfortunately to my understanding that without a 240v relay and two extra cores of cable you cannot run these to be dual switched in the off position while the main light is switched on in a two way setup. You can have them running independently, but one illuminated mech will always be on in that case. Also you can have both illuminated mechs switched on with the lights, or on all the time without the relay.

      @@sparkydave thanks for your reply. I ended up having the blue light led on all the time, not ideal but is ok. Thank you for the great video.

      On the slave switch, where would the two wires from the lighting module go to have it turned on constantly ??

  • @grrahul

    Can this be done for a 2-way switch too as in when the lights are on both switches would be illuminated blue and when the lights are off both switches would not be illuminated?

    How would you wire with triple plated wiring?

  • @mutchumbo
    @mutchumbo 3 роки тому

    Just wondering how this would connect to a switch with no neutral wire? Just the C and the 1?

    • @danielelise7348
      @danielelise7348 Рік тому

      You can't do it unless you have a Neutral at the switch,if you only have twin active at the switch(red & white) what you can do is get a few metres of SDI (single core blk, in 1.00mm² or 1.5mm² & wire it to the Neutral at the light fitting & then run it down wall cavity to the switch plate,just to supply a Neutral for the LED.

    Hey mate. I’ve added these to a few switches which are great. I have wired then so the blue light is illuminated when the switch is off. How do you wire them up when there are 2 switches to the one light? I would like them to be lit up when the switch is off. Cheers

      sounds like one of the LEDs may have failed, or a capacitor has, something that tiny must be using nano particle sized smd components, not be possible to repair by naked eye

    Great videos SparkyDave. Just one question. In our house we have some Clipsal push button switches with a backlit led, but the led only illuminates when the lights are turned on. I pulled one out of the wall to have a look and I couldn’t see two wires that you had on the back of your switch. There was only one thin wire connected to the active. Does this mean I can’t have it illuminate when it’s switched off? Thanks

      put the led wire in the common (c) terminal and it should stay on all the time.
