The beginning so sad, almost tragic, each time a friend of mine dies I hear this music. In the finale a female choir, voice of true angels, bringing the entire piece to a perfect balance. Debussy never faded away; he is alive in his music. Many thanks for publishing this wonderful performance!
I feel that Debussy is composed by catching the transition of sound with the eyes of a pure child. I think that we who live in the present need such a mindset.
BRAVISSIMO, Maestro Pierre Boulez! Your, Taste, and ever so deep under- standing make you THE GREATEST CONDUCTOR!!!! You are the only one who successfully can make, everyone, be "turned on" to their new discovery of ---- AVANT-GARDE MUSIV!!!! Thus, you "open windows" for them!!! You show them what fabulous, unlimited, possibilities of EXISTENCE the Cosmos has for, all of us !!!!
Grazie Debussy!
This is a wonderful recording. Boulez a perfect conductor. I am listening to this while i'm preparing Debussy Images BK 2. Very useful hearing orchestral pieces performed to such a high standard.
it's crazy how influential Debussy had been on movie music. this entire piece sounds like one or another moment from a John Williams' score or Ghostbusters or Cocoon, etc
Well...all John Williams' scores sound like the bits of older music he plagiarized, I mean, "drew inspiration from", just listen to The Planets by Holst or Romeo&Juliet by Prokovief
@@pozsoz The movie director himself wants to have Gustav Holst - the planet in Star Wars, but he can't so he asked John Williams to write something similar from what I heard
@@pozsozYou know that the Temp track for Star Wars was Holst right? Originally George Lucas intended on using Holst's Planets as the soundtrack but instead got John Williams to write the score for it. Naturally it had a very similar sound quality, because that's what was asked of him. Ain't nothing wrong with taking inspiration; if you listen to Classical music, guess what, a good chunk of what you're going to listen to took heavy inspiration from past composers and works. Certain pieces from early to mid era Beethoven sound like complete rip offs of Mozart because Beethoven idolized Mozart. That's just the nature of art - replicate the artists that you love until it eventually becomes your own.
I listened to the first song. I found Debussy's idea great. It was exactly night that spread beyond the sound of the orchestration. Impressive melodies of cor anglais and horn that are called many times in the orchestra's mellow sound. And the atmosphere of the night changes little by little to wrap around you.
since my Psychologist did report ill to me this morning I want to consecrate to her because she being my blessing and my light to find through this world, these trois nocturnes cause they have in the finale my oprlid of being that is a female choir only and the whole piece is called < für Frauenchor und Orchester >.
This performance is amazing. The orchestra sounds glorious and Boulez is at his finest
The comfort and wonderfulness of Debussy‘s music is irreplaceable , unfathomable, and off the charts
As is your perfect comment. Thank you.

We love Claude Debussy
Whenever I hear this opening I imagine laying down on grass with my hands behind my head watching the clouds slowly move across the sky. Very dreamy.
Debussy created unfathomably beautiful music

How interesting that you think it's sad... this music is my happy place. Goes to show you just how subjective music is for the listener.

i realize I am quite off topic but do anybody know a good place to stream newly released tv shows online?

Its like some comic said about Shakespeare : " All this guy did was to string together a lot of well-known, pithy old sayings . . ."

Timeless 4ever: A beauty: Debussy´s Composition and conducter Pierre Boulez and the Vienna Philharmonic! Merci!
La classe !
(Boulez smiles ....). Merci.
Un pur moment de grâce musicale !..
Wow, a discovery to surely treasure and remember!

I prefer this performance to the one he did with Cleveland. The VPO adds more warmth to it and I find the Cleveland performance a bit cold
Sounds a Little Bit like „la Mer“
