Enjoyed this programme with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and Maestro Viotti on the 19th June in Cologne. It was a triumph!!! Looking so much forward to Mr. Viotti in January 2025, when he will conduct again the Gürzenich Orchestra. Thank you so much for the upload, so I could relive this moving and splendid concert on All Saints Day.
Beautiful! Thank you so much for uploading. I love M. Viotti. He is so talented. I was so happy that the VPO invited him to conduct. I am still waiting for Manfred Honeck to be invited and wonder why it has taken so long since he is former violist in the orchestra and his brother is one of the concertmasters. Also wonder why Simon Rattle has not been back in a long time? Sublime playing and a sound like no other orchestra.
Mr. Viotti is really charming. The same cannot be said of his work as a conductor. A reading of the 7th Symphony that is truly inconsistent and superficial. In a word, "ignorant." Not a single musician of the Vienna Philharmonic wastes a moment looking at him to understand what his boring and expressionless gesture demands. Many best wishes for his career which, given the musical inconsistency, will be bright and full of successes.
Let the music inspire you friends, centuries ago it was used as best.. anti war affairs solution, still sounds like... people stay home, enjoy dancing parties and forget hostilities, forget rage, hatred and violence, stay home and make love, have sons and family to take care about...let music become the most successful economical growth strategy, somebody bring the food, gadgets, souvenirs for visitors & paaarty
Sorry, but Viotti's direction seems lacking in bite to me: it could be that the recording isn't up to today's standards (flat and with a volume that certainly doesn't enhance the dynamics, at least on the PC. Especially a disappointing Dvorak.

They did this in Seville at the end of June and it was really great! Viotti is a great conductor, no doubt about that...
Meraviglioso il Capriccio spagnolo di Rimski Korsakov... Mi ha emozionato riascoltarlo dopo tanto tempo. Viotti (nomen omen!) bravissimo.
Rachmaninov 's Toteninsel is an incredible masterpiece
Die Toteninsel: schaurig schön!
I like the way they play.

Many of the players have changed but it still sounds good.

I don't know if this concert was an average grade or not, but I thought the musicians played with skill. Even so, I was missing the heart.
PARDON!

The video is excellent but the sound is compressed to oblivious dynamics. Otherwise being a concert of delights. 😟

Bad sound
Not even poor stereo, its monaural, though I do like Volkhard Steude's violin solos and of course the marvellous VPO French Horns.
Very average
Are you serious ?
@@michelrenard500 yes
@@anonymoussource701 It's weird, but indeed it looks like that everybody - except for the conductor - looks bored.
@@dadshomeagain8996 The Vienna Philharmonic could play this stuff in their sleep they don't need another eejit jumping up and down to "inspire" them.
You're absolutely right! He's gotta long way to go to be a Maestro- even Vienna won't help!
