Hey Everyone, thanks for watching! As mentioned in the video, here is a helpful blog taking a look some great divers in 2021: www.teddybaldassarre.com/blog/45-best-dive-watches-a-complete-guide-2021/
You all prolly dont give a damn but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost my account password. I would love any tips you can offer me
I just ordered the Aquamarine one this morning after only seeing and reading about it online! It'll be my first entry-level luxury watch. I can't wait to get it!
For anyone curious about it, this sub 200 actually refers to the 11804-4 "Shark-Hunter", which was Doxa's actual first dive watch. The Sub 300, that is more famous, came 2 years later, in 1967. Another cool fact is that the reason why this looks similar to an Omega Seamaster is because the case was conceived by "Huguenin Frères" who also designed the Omega.
Doxas have always been appreciated in Europe for their quality. Here at the Balkans we have a saying: "Radi kao Doxa", which means: Works like a Doxa. People used to receive them as retirement gifts in former Yugoslavia. I would dare to say that 20th century Doxas can almost pair the quality of 20th century Omegas. If they kept their former standards, this must be an exceptional watch.
Yugoslavia had its watch game on point 😊💪 Seiko was also really common to get as a gift... The retirement gifts could go in some cases to longines and simillar brands... I know a story where one gentelman got even a Zenith 💪😊
@@robiv7139 I'd recommend you get one. I had a gold plated manual wind one from the 60es. It worked within +10 sec a day. They are not expensive, even on ebay where prices are a little inflated you can find a good one under €100. Other brands that were common in former Yugoslavia were Darwil, Helvetia, Cortebert and Omikron. Helvetia and Cortebert are also good quality. I'm waiting for a nice vintage Cortebert to pop up, they are usually well under €250. Fun fact about the brand is that they used to supply their movements to Rolex. Hope I helped, cheers!
just a small addition: this model actualy has its roots in the Doxa 11804-4 :) and the company that manufactured the case was the same one that supplied Omega!
The video quality is spot on. Your hosting is spot on. The only it lacks is a balanced review. No watch is perfect and i think a few i wish they did this would’ve been great. It allows the viewer to know the pros and cons prior to purchasing.
Great review Teddy. I have the Sub 200 Caribbean and couldn’t be happier. It wears incredibly well for a 42mm, and feels solid and well built. Went through a few microbrands to get here, but this is my favorite diver I have owned.
My picks would be 200 Aquamarine on matching rubber strap, 300T Divingstar on BOR and 300 Professional on BOR. Although the case sizes on the 300 and 300T are close, I feel the slightly smaller dial and domed crystal on the 300 works best with the iconic orange. But, I’ve seen the yellow Divingstar and it’s a stunner in both 300 and 300T. Finally, the aquamarine on the less expensive 200 with the matching strap is just fun. These three would make a great summer collection.
Have a Sub 200 Sharkhunter and Sub 1200 Professional. Love both of them! I think the Sub 200 is a very good buy at $1000. As usual, good review Teddy, and great watch Doxa.
@@TeddyBaldassarrea bunch of incorrect information. This is a reissue of their actual original watch called the sharkhunter and it looks like a sea master because it was made in the same factory
A couple of weeks ago I bought the Sub 300T Professional. My first Doxa HAD to be in the traditional orange colour. I do really like the Aquamarine too, so I've just ordered a Sub 200 Aquamarine to add to my collection :) Picking it up Tuesday!
I've been very slow to follow this up with my views having got my sticky paws on the Sub 200. Bit of mixed feelings to be honest. The bracelet is great, but the clasp is terrible compared to the one on my Sub 300T. Other than that, the manufacturing quality and QC seems to be good. The movement could use some regulation. My Sub 300T is accurate to an average of +6 per day, but the 200 is closer to +15, not great considering it's exactly the same movement. I've also now acquired a SUB 200 C-Graph which all the above comments also apply, except the ones about regulation, tbh I've not used it or worn it. Got it at almost £1000 discount so couldn't let that deal slip past!
Great video. Just 2 small corrections. It was the SUB 300 that was first. The SUB 300T came later and the fish logo is Jenny, not Doxa. The large J running from the dorsal fin to the eye of the fish design has been used on their watches from at least the 1960's. Long before they took over ownership of Doxa.
I have the black Sharkhunter and after a year wearing as an “everyday” watch this is a great watch. I switched to the Doxa black rubber band as the beads of rice bracelet was too much bling, although very comfortable. This is a great watch - it wears small, and the sapphire is raised nice and high, only negative is it can be off about 5-10 sec per day.
It's fascinating that for many, many, many, absolutely many years no one from the 'international watch lovers' peer group cared for the brilliant Doxa subs. Insider's watches they were. I have my orange 600T since 2009 and it went down to (non-deco) 53 meters with me a few times. May they enjoy their success.
Great video Teddy. I’ve had one of these on my short list for a while and after watching this, it’s certainly jumped up. Can’t wait to get out of Lockdown and find a dealer I can try one on at. Stay safe. Stay happy 😃
Thx for your good review. I like Doxa a lot and I will add a sub 200 one to my collection, because they are serious dive watches without taking them selfs too serious (which is very very rare at the watch market in general) - that's fun. So I will get a poppy aquamarine or yellow on steel.
Hey Teddy, I love the orange one, but the Aquamarine is so bold that I'd love to have one. It is so good when it is up to design that it would work in any colour I guess. All the best...
Never heard of these watches before. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I love the orange with the orange rubber strap. Think I have found my new purchase
The doxa 200 is the reinterpretation of the first doxa diver from 1963 and was before the omega seamaster 300 with the same case because the case manufacturer was the same for Doxa, omega and Eberhart, the doxa 200 is a fantastic histoic diver watch from 1963.
Great video, great watch (love the watch in turquoise best: i picture myself with this watch going to to the beach on a nice summer day) and a great blog (most extensive content on divers in one place that I have ever seen). Keep it up, Teddy! 👍
Another entertaining and informative video. Dial color is a big consideration in my collection. I am looking at the Tutor fast rider with a yellow dial. This Doxa is a legitimate consideration. Thanks for the enlightenment.
That is by far the best rubber rubber strap I have ever worn . It’s expensive but knocks the spots off both my breitling aero and my omega smp 300 pro rubber ..
I have bought the Doxa sub200 c graph chrono sea rambler 45mm it wears like a 42mm a great watch. I also have the Doxa 300t great watch I have a 7ins wrist and they don't look big at all.

This watch goes perfect with my watch collection Rolex Submariner & Omega Seamaster 42m 300 love the build quality on the Doxa. Would be nice you visting the Doxa place and doing a video on the watch brand would be awesome more Doxa videos please 🙏
The Top 45 blog was great! I really enjoyed it. I would have to go with the orange Doxa Sub 200 on the beads of rice, but also would have to get the orange strap to go with it.
I have the Caribbean Sub 200, I really like it, but the mirror-polished hands do not always show up well against the dial. Aging eyes require a bit higher contrast, so I plan to order a Divingstar Sub 200.
Doxa is the only brand I think of when it comes to professional dive watch (with Seiko and Squale) remember seeing them in dive shops before the diving computers were popular due to costs
You have to appreciate watchmakers who arent afraid to be a bit whimsical in design. Doxa's colors really pop and make the something special that stand apart from the rest of the watch industry. There is no attempt to even mute or downplay the colors in any way. There is an indeering quality to a watch company who knows who that are an unabashedly embraces it to the fullest.
Great review. I’ve been considering a Doxa for several years. I’ve decided on the Sharkhunter version of the Sub 200. I remember seeing Doxa watches in a dive shop years ago and bought a Tsg instead. Now I’m after the Doxa.
I'm narrowing down on my first dive watch, no I don't dive. $1000 range. The orange, yellow or blue are fun but I'll probably go black too. How do you stack up the sub 200 shark hunter vs the Mido ocean star tribute? These are the 2 I'm drolling over. Cheers!
love that orange dial. Just something about it. I really likenthebyellow too and the the blue slightly less. But man. Good looking watches. With I could throw 1k at a watch when I don't dive at all. Hell I'm completely landlocked.
