    Ali! Thanks for the plans for this bar! Just built mine yesterday, and had to do it with electrical conduit rather than white PVC pipe made for water. And because 'm in the US, the diameters had to change just a little to have one tube fit inside the other.
    But I tried it and decided to make an easy stability improvement with some pre-bent PVC electrical conduit instead of a straight bar for the outer feet. I took some pics, but not sure how to post pics in comments.
    But... also just wanted to say I'm always stoked to see new material from you, and I always get a lot out of your riding technique tutorials. KEEP IT UP, and THANK YOU! LOVE YOUR STYLE AND YOUR VLOGS, MAN!

    This is the best bar I have seen so far. I especially love the portability of it, so I can take it to some quiet place and train without being disturbed. I can't wait to build this myself. Already have the bungee cord :)

    Love the idea of the bungee cord... reminds me the concept behind tent poles

    Going to build this right now! Absolutely brilliant. Slight type-o in the description: 40-38mm reducer should read 40-32mm reducer. Thanks!

    I have a couple of ideas to help make this a bit better.
    1) Get 4 caps to put on the ends of your bases then fill them with sand and plug the end with expanding foam or glue/epoxy. That way you can have take them off to transfer port but still have a nice weighted base too.
    2) I love the bungee idea and you could use caps on the ends as well and attach an eye bolt through it the tie the bungee to them so it's all kept internally or just drill a hole through the center of the cap and use a smaller knot instead. You wonder need much tension but you can adjust it easily with either method.

    All i need is a piece of crayon. I draw a line on the ground and try to hop over it. Liked the "hopability" :D

    Wow dude that is simply brilliant I probably wont get the time to build me one of these for a bit but that's going on the to do list for sure as I keep fearing bunny hopping high logs and stuff because a case can go oh so wrong. I'm sure a bar like this would have me hopping higher in no time!

    Epic idea, really like the tent pole inspired bungee cord cross bar. Can I ask if the cross bar rolls off easily enough if you nose bonked your front wheel into it? Love the channel by the way.

    Great vid. One tip to save time cutting and filing is to use a Dremel with a larger size cutoff wheel. Makes quick work of all the necessary cuts/filing.

    I may have to make something like that. I'm definitely looking forward to the how to bunny hop video, I am about the worst ever at bunny hopping and need all of the help I can get.

  • @lonoreturns
    @lonoreturns 7 років тому

    great idea. only thing I would do is to cut a notch into each end of the cross bar. You can then pull the bungee cord into it and the knot will sit outside the pipe. Think this would make it sit more secure on the clips.

    Awesome! Thanks for the tutorial. I will be making one of these when I can because I've always wanted to see how high I could bunnyhop and what height I can do on average. I ride bmx and usually hit my bum on my tire as I do fairly high hops. I am trying to learn the side hop as I just watched your tutorial on how to bunnyhop and I can stop hitting my bum on the tire lol

    Hope Tartydays is a blast! Awesome to see the final evolution of this rig, I've always been interested in the idea of having some or of screen or sheet that you can bring to the bar from the ground at first for getting used to judging the distance. The bungee cord idea is great!

    You really start your own 'How to series'. I am very exited with that. And nice bunnyhop bar DIY, Is bungecord inside the pole idea yours? It's brilliant. I used to use paper box for practice but I'll try to make smaller version of bunnyhop bar with 20mmID since I'm really not good at bunnyhop :)

  • @Graybeard218

    If you would like to put some curves in i
    it or save sanding time, you can cut pvc pipe with a knife or scissors and bend it into what ever angle you want if you warm it up with a heat gun or over a hot stove, it will and turn into taffy at this point it can be cut with scissors, knife or shaped. run it under cold water to after to have it stay in the position you want

    Hi Ali,
    My cousin and I think about, to buy our first trial and we are not so sure which Bike it should be?
    Can you / the community give us a few tips about this.
    We hope that you can help us and we looking forward to seeing you soon in the next Vlog.
    And really usefull How To.
    😎👍

      Es gibt in Dtl. niemand der Street Trial fährt? lol. There's tons of riders riding street over here. If you haven't ridden any street trial yet, a Flow, Arcade, 4play will pretty much feel the same (in terms of weirdness). Try to get a used on off "kleinanzeigen" and find out whether riding street trials is for you.

      Hi Nico,
      Ich freue mich, dass du so schnell Widerspruch eingelegt und mich verbessert hast, den Kommentar werde ich nocheinmal überarbeiten.
      Wenn du/ihr irgendwelche guten Tips habt die uns weiter helfen können, dann lasst es uns doch bitte wissen. 👍

    I wonder if you could make a video on topics such as : How to lighten your bike (e.g. cut holes/grip off tires or plastic pedals), just a suggestion.

    • @KHos73
      @KHos73 7 років тому

      And if they are a good idea or not...

    • @thetrailnomad
      @thetrailnomad 7 років тому

      Cut holes? Not a good idea. No need to be Ali for that insight.

    • @KHos73
      @KHos73 7 років тому

      Ok, :) drill holes maybe? :) I'm just saying as an idea for a video you know. What do comp riders do to mod their bikes, if anything?

    • @thetrailnomad
      @thetrailnomad 7 років тому

      Cut off the side knobs of their tires with a Stanley knife, use titanium bolts and the lightest parts available. That goes for comp riders riding pure trials. Ali's been tuning his bike with titanium bolts all over, and if I'm not mistaken with new lightweight singlespeed hubs. In any case, there isn't much to say to fill a vlog with this and it would be kinda boring. Just like, say, a vlog on how to build a bunny hop bar. :P

    • @KHos73
      @KHos73 7 років тому

      Maybe just talking about it to give your audience an idea of what people do would be nice to hear, also the dangers of what could happen? Cheers.
