I once had a flight from Brussels to Cebu (Philippines) which included a 28 hour stopover in Kuala Lumpur. I foolishly just stayed awake for the entire trip. You can imagine the state I was in when I got to my hotel room in Cebu.
I tell a lie. It wasn't Cebu, it was Manila, heading for the Belgian embassy in a (seemingly) never-ending quest to file all the necessary paperwork to get my Filipina wife a visa to come to Belgium.
about 20 years ago I did this. Ft Lauderdale to LA, 2 hour layvover, onto Seattle, bus to vancouver, 24 hours in Vancouver, bus to Seattle, fly to LA, fly to Ft Lauderdale, 12 hour layover, fly to NYC, 6 hours in NYC then to London, 24 hours in London and then onto Australia via singapore. I didnt know I was going to Australia till I got to London and found out my father in law had a stroke, so off I went
To be honest I completely forgot that they did that on this trip. Plus the first class of recent has been hit or miss on the meal service been on a few time where its just a complimentary version of what you can purchase in standard class.
You did look and sound tired when you got off the train in Aberdeen, so hope you got a really good sleep when you got home. Another great video, Dom. Those views of the sunset were amazing.
More comfortable? I'd be sure to get lots of sleep before travelling, and carry the bare essentials, taking naps wherever possible, and not filming for UA-cam on top of it all 😊 Great to see you back in Scotland, and look forward to more videos!
Home sweet home, right? You sounded super tired. The price of that coffee! Our local chain (not Starbucks) is about $2.00CDN for a large. Our local independent, $2.50 to $3.00. Airports everywhere boost those prices right up though. When you’ve been on the go that long, I’d upgrade the final leg. LNER first class is well worth the upgrade.
I’ve always actually really enjoyed EasyJet, actually in my opinion much better than BA. always friendly and helpful crew onboard, great leg room, the food not overpriced and actually quite nice selection. I remember watching a documentary about the building about Stansted Airport, quite a fascinating building if you can find the documentary
In terms of travel within Europe there is no competition between easyJet and BA. EasyJet makes it much easier to get around, which in my opinion is the base thing an airline is. Long haul British Airways do a pretty good job at that so I need to give credit there, it’s a solid product.
There was no way of getting from The airport to Inverkeithing in time for the train, there was only around 20 mins to get from the airport to Haymarket train station for the LNER service.
What would you do to make yourself more comfortable if you had to travel 38 hours?

@@anianoenrique2115so you slept in the 28hr layover
@@stephenconnolly2582 no, I didn't.
If using Stansted and you have hours think about using the Radisson hotel bar ara to escape the crowds..
I'll keep that in mind for next time, Good tip! Thank you.

Thanks for sharing, sounds like an awful journey under some of the worst circumstances.
Look at LNER first class which includes a meal and drinks on top of bigger seat etc.. i have upgraded for £15

@NontopDom The question was about making yourself more comfortable.. which is why I mentioned the sometimes bargain LNER first upgrade...
What a nightmare journey! Ryanair or Easyjet really need to put on a direct flight from Stansted to Aberdeen.
I'm surprised Ryanair UK doesn't offer a flight from Glasgow or Aberdeen to Stansted like EasyJet offer to Gatwick or Luton.
Look at that sky when you landed at EDI! Glad you made it home safe … eventually!
Thanks it was a bit touch and go for a while on the timing of my connections. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Really enjoyed the series and your trip to Sri Lanka. Look forward to many more. Happy travels and stay safe. ✈🌍👍
Thanks a ton! I'm glad you enjoyed it, there are many more video to come and I have already filmed a great deal of them!
Glad you enjoyed your trip mate! Looking forward to the next trip series!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. More videos are coming really soon.
Glad you got home ok.
Thanks, glad to be home!
Welcome home - great memories made.
Absolutely and many more to come!
Oh you were on such a tight schedule but you made it very well done oh and what a sunset you got from the easyjet plane well done
Thank you, it was very tiring by the end of it and I’m glad I got all my connections.

Yes, exactly! Thanks again Mike. There will be a lot of stuff coming from Scotland soon. I've already filmed a bunch of videos to go out.
I could hear your tiredness in that sign out.
Haha yes the energy was gone by that point. luckily it was just a short 10 min taxi ride home after that.
Well done on that final leg home. You looked shattered!
Haha thanks Tim, was a great trip for sure but already been out getting more filmed 😅
Thanks Tim, means a lot with it being the end of the trip. Was a good one for sure! 😁

I really didn't think about the first class at the time, if I was doing it again i probably would do the 1st class.

£4.00 for a coffee? You can get a breakfast roll and a coffee in Greggs for £2.70
Sadly this wasn't available on this trip. It was a great rip off but at least coffee was available.
Not at Gregg's in the airport

Could you not get the LNER at Inverkeithing?

Isn’t coming home wonderful?!!!
It’s really is!
