I really like how good corvette has gotten and is getting, keep it up.
I'm not a Chevy man in anyway, but I think the Corvette is without a doubt the best car they make and probably helps keep them alive.
Three questions.. is the rear fender the same width as the z06? I know its fiberglass instead of carbon but it it the exact same " part"? Also, i heard that the stability kicks in even in comp mode, is there a way to turn it OFF completely..,meaning disable it? lastly, is the dual mode exhaust AT IDLE AND below 3k QUIETER than the n/a mode exhaust. thanks!
@SuperformanceMK3 cam and headers and you will be well over 500hp. The LS3 is slight underrated. It really makes about 445-450hp at the crank. Ive seen stock LS3 make 392 at the rear wheels. If you correct that for SAE brake horsepower its around 450.
@MilitantOldLady yeah but if you want a great performing car that looks great thats not as harsh as the z06 on the road and that's not too expensive this makes alot of sense especialy with the targa top
The rear quarters are identical to the Z06 even for the convertible.
People have been making their C6's widebodies using Z06 parts for a long time.
That engine makes a wonderful noise.

The Grand sport is about 20k less than a Z06, a set of Headers, an Ex pipe, cold air intake, and a Dyno tune will get you close to a Z06 performance at a huge savings, and you can have a convertible!
Does this car offer an automatic for this package?
@Brendon00000 Thats because its the best model of the grand sport. For $10,000 more you can get the Z06. The Base model is $56,000-$65,000.
This is the car I want. 1st it was the 02 ZO6. Then it was the 07 ZO6. Then I wanted to save money and go with the ls3 08. Now I want the 10 GS. It has the ZO6 look but I love how you can take the targa top off with still a hell of alot of power. I saw some on auto trader going for around 38k-43k. Still alot of money but alot of bang for your buck. Beautiful car. Now all I need to do is save 15k to put down. LOTTO PLEASE!!! Vette all the way.
Retooled with existing parts? So this has a steering wheel from a Cobalt rather than a Malibu? Maybe some Saturn Ion seats ;-)

btw, is that a solid-roof convertible, if so then i'm happy, i never liked that cloth look on high performance cars (or any other for that matter)
um no. why would think that? it has more power than the base Corvette 1LT, tuned suspension, and is COVERED in heritage. its a revival of the original Grand Sport, which is praised as the greatest Corvette ever built.

actually this isn't a different version in the sense that you mean it. if you PAID attention this is an option package that REPLACES the Z51 sports package. so it is not a sperate car but a series of options that can be placed on the standard corvette. instead of callng it a Z51 equipped vette it will now be the grand sport...which if you knew anything about vettes would know that name holds a ton of meaning in vette racing.
did you not watch the video at all? he said it looks like a Z06 in and out, but the underpinnings and everything else is a regular Corvette with an LS3 instead of the LS7.

2010 Vettes come with LC? or is more of a TC with less power cut off? Anyone drive one yet by any chance? I think Chevy may be a little behind in that department. 0-60 in 3.6 w/LC. Now I know the ZR1 is claimed 3.3-3.5 in 09 of corse with the right conditions & all. Call it 3.5, I was hoping LC would get it down to 3.3-3.4 consistently :-( But I couldn't help but notice when he mentioned his 0-60 runs they showed him w/ a passenger. I wonder if those times were timed w/ a passenger in it!?
no its sales bro... it comes with alot of parts from the zo6 right.. but with the ls3 and its 20k less.. well people like me see that as an opportunity for gm.. ppl start buying these spend less then 5k and you have a car that will kill the zo6 with money to spare on extras

These gs models look really badass, but I thought the presenter was a bit over excited about them.
With performance like this there's nothing wrong with its look that some fender stripes can't fix

@TheDodgeChallenger no but if the same exact car is just rebadged to make it look like a GTO... then obviously its not a true GTO. they could have at least gave it better suspension or something. an LS3 would have been nice too.

i love vettes and stangs but unlike GM,ford has to take the stang to modification intelligence to make the stang fast,an entry level vette has a 3.9 time in 0-60,thats really fast for a stock car and for a car that cost only around 60k

Yeah. I mean, the Camaro SS is what, 30-40k? Might be able to supercharge for 10k on top of that, and still be cheaper than the vette.
Personally I like the camaro's looks but I'm going to wait for the convertible model.

@TheDodgeChallenger Actually, i know the New Zealander who invented the Aquada, the Car-Boat. so it turns out your wrong, not only does New Zealand make a car, but that car is also a boat, I dont know many american cars that could beat that.

Blueball0120, here in canada for example a base costs $60,000 a grand sport $65,000 and a Z06 is $90,000 which is a huge jump in price, as in the USA I can get a grand sport for $53,000 just how I like it, thats cheaper than our base models

yes, but you wouldn't want it, the automatics in the corvette and cts-v are woefully dim-witted with the paddles. flick it for an up-change, and you wait more than a second for it to happen.
the only people who would buy an auto corvette are hertz.

Honestly, I think this is stupid. So now the 75k Z06 costs 20k more for an aluminum chassis and LS7, but everything else is the same. I mean these cars blended way too well with one another in the 1st place but now this is just annoying. I'd be pissed if I owned a Z06, paid 20k more but am only getting about 5k worth of difference from the 55k GS Vette.
