If I had the money I wouldn't consider anything else other than the Corvette. 0-60 in 4seconds, mid-low 12's in the 1/4th, and nearly 30mpg on the highway, I mean c'mon, it's the best.

Just bought a 08 coupe with 41 k on the clock..in the mid 20 s they are very affordable. I took it on a lengthy test drive..it's everything I thought it would be. Bought it at estero bay Chevy in s.w. fl.
Here in 2018 when i can finally afford an 08 lol.

maybe a POS. a low mileage Z06 and ZR1 C6 models are still expensive and out of reach of MOST people.
@@goldenmanuever1176 I have been pricing low mileage models in the mid low 20s. 2008-09 are not bad at all. If that's too much, then you might have other problems.

I have owned 3 vettes and the base coupes have averaged 22 miles per gallon including
autocross and hundreds of drag strip runs. While hwy mileage is 28 to 32 mpg not bad for
a car that will run mid 12s in 1/4mi.My latest
is a 2008 ZO6 in 11000 miles it has averaged
20 mpg with hwy mileage at 26 to 29mpg with
a fastest run of 11.43 at 126.7mph with the
stock runflat tires and 10.92 at 131mph with
nitto 555 drag radials

a possible 30 mpg at highway cruise speed or overdrive with over 500 stock horse is beyond words amazing!!!
400 hp is a lot for sure. I don't feel like I'd ever be driving around yelling "come on, COME ON!"

Z06 can eat M3 for breakfast
the M3 and Z06 are not in the same category of performance. The M3 would have a tough enough time with a base C6 Z51.
Why is everyone bitching about luxury? Its a race car on budget. CD player is all you need...
The R8 is a very luxurious car, and it reaches 60mph in 4.1 seconds. Navigation system, leather upholstery, heated seats, cruise control, remote engine start, rearview camera, premium sound system, 6-disc CD changer, satellite radio, heated cup holders, leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio controls. you won't get all that luxury in a corvette, unless you pay like an extra $20,000 for those options. if you like american sports cars, consider the cadillac xlr. that is one hell of a car.
The Corvette is the best car ever!!! Safe too with a fiberglass body and a tough steel cage around you. Wow it can race supper cars and only cost $50,000.

I wouldn't go that far. A lot of less powerful sports cars avoid the gas guzzler tax (Z4, Boxster, S2000, etc). Furthermore, the just-as-quick Porsche 911 also carries no such tax. That said, the 911 can't beat the Z06's straightline speed.
@jacob90909 the acr viper costs TWICE AS MUCH as the c6 corvette, and the similarly priced zr1 is faster. plus, the acr is purely a track car
Im going to trade in my Nissan 350Z which is a great car. I hoping the 08 Corvette LS3 engine is the V8 version of the Nissan VQ35DE V6 for reliability.
Chris Jones I’m looking for a c6 and i found a couple for 19k with 80k miles on them.
I’ve had both, both are incredibly reliable. I put almost 200k on the 350z with only regular maintenance. Only problem I had was a belt broke once, and I think I replaced an alternator. Corvette had zero problems, had a 99’ hardtop (modded) and 02’ Z06

Corvette Z06 - A little over 500bhp, 0 to 60mph in 3.7 seconds
Corvette ZR1 - Quite a bit over 600bhp, 0 to 60mph in 3.4 seconds
The Corvette competes with the more luxurious Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, the Corvette Z06 competes with the more luxurious Porsche Turbo (or 911 GT2), and the Corvette ZR1... that's an absolute monster, a competitor to the higher end Raris and Lambos. For $105,000 you either get a super fast ZR1 or a super luxurious Mercedes.

heh, 22 mpg if you drive it like you should or for the city, while 30+ is for the highway. Just imagine, if the Vette had exactly the same engine/body/etc. but dropped 400 lbs to weigh as much as a Prius, Civic, or similar compact, AND someone drove the Vette like they'd drive a Prius, I could definitely see people getting close to 40 mpg, maybe even more.
z06 doesnt come in atuo trans neither artic white(exept RON FELLOWS edition)
i agree with an M3 too...overall better than the corvette
zr1 beats the lot! The corvette has a good interior with enough 'toys'. You wouldnt say porsches have fantastic interiors or lotus's etc. b'cos they don't.Even the merc slr has plastic dash and costs way too much!

Compared to the corvette that kicks the Z4's ass. I own a 1985 Silverado 350 + 4bbl carb I bought it from a guy that had it in his yard rotting away. All we did was put some new gas into the carburetor and it started just as well as it did when it left the factory. A z4 would never do that. Also Z4 has NO POWER what so ever. Corvette is a lot better than a shitty ass z4.

naw dude....yeah the acr blows away all vettes(IM A DIE HARD VIPER FAN).....but when they compared the 06 viper coupe and the zo6 they rated the vipers grip as a 10 and the zo6 as a 7....and around the track the viper was slower by the smallest margin
bro when you sit there and make shit up....at least do your home work.....listen...i was driving my freinds yellow z06 with 505 hp and 6 spd manual...i did 155 really fast! see the difference>?

The Corvette is very fast. The Corvette Z06 is extremely fast. The Corvette ZR1 is a speed demon. Then you have the R8 which is between very fast and extremely fast, but also between very luxurious and extremely luxurious. What sucks about Corvettes is that they sure as hell aren't luxury cars. For $105,000 you either go for a Corvette ZR1 that gets to 60mph in 3.4 seconds and has over 600 horsepower or a Mercedes-Benz CL550 with neverending luxury, but has under 400 hp. Luxury or acceleration?

Cheap interior trim, ill fitting parts, weak AC, and prone to tons of repairs. These are complaints ALL my friends who have been suckered into buying a Vette have complained about..which is why ALL OF THEM have traded it in for something else. Nice to look at..but shitty build quality. No thanks!
Nightbird: Don't know what the hell you are talking about. My corvette hasn't given me a bit of problems but then I don't beat the sh*t out of it. Maybe your friends need to learn how to drive and maintain their vehicles. Hi-performance vehicles aren't for everyone. Maybe they should try an ELIO.
