I had one of those back in the eighties with a really nice medium-jumbo re-fret...stupidly sold or traded it, of course. Nothing quite sounds like those heavy LPs with an ebony fretboard....grand-piano of electric guitars.
Sweet ! again, a trip to '72. That year, friend buys a copy cat LPC. Great guitar for all we know, same factory that built my IBZ RR Sr. Nice for folks who couldn't begin to afford a Gibson. This is cool. Some wear. Loved !
Ha nice! Have you seen what he uses now? It’s an aluminum bodied rig from a smaller maker. Funky, weird and cool at the same time…. Guess kind of like Buzz.
Hello friends! given your incredible knowledge of these tools, can I ask you which product do you use to polish it? my black beauty of 73. when I pass the damp cloth it immediately becomes dull and hazy gray, it's horrible. I do not know what to do. thank you so much!! sorry my english translated by google Paolo, Italy
I find the original PAF Humbuckers to be muddy and somehow doesn’t cut through especially the neck. It really depends on the Guitar. I had to swap out the Humbuckers on both my Gold Top and Custom in favor for Bare Knuckles. However this is a gorgeous Guitar being reviewed
i owned one of these in the 80's & it had witch hat knobs with gold centres & the Gibson logo embossed into the gold pickup covers! this one does not look anything like it, i'd suggest this is a '73 model.
Yeah same at first but now i've played and spent so much time with my Epiphone that I couldn't imagine another one as my signature whenever that comes around or whatever it's the studio model dot neck no pickup covers about 2012
@@SamSveistrup what model epi you got? i have the gibson les paul special p-90s, i haven't even played it yet because i sent it for a setup as soon as i got it. my main rig is gonna be that gibson and my jazzmaster
I've got a 1980 like this one, almost all the Gold has worn off. Question, a guy at church just purchased a LP Custom like this but it's a freakin Gold Top. I never knew Gibson made them. You think it's real or did Gibby just do a limited run of the Gold top LP Customs?
There are Goldtop customs, although they're not as easy to find compared to the other classic colours. People usually associate black and white with customs but Gibson also makes them wine red, cherry sunburst and as mentioned above, gold top
Ohhhh. Black . Beautiful. Michael may have pounded her outta tune the last bit of VH, there. Gary Moore RIP. and nice, really nice job at the end, Michael!!
@@lukeweston1234 Gee, I could have sworn that the Les Paul Gibson was the result of design ideas submitted by some pre-rock, jazzish guitar player -- coincidentally named Les Paul. ... or were you being sarcastic.
What's particularly ironic is that Les Paul designed this guitar to have a clear ringing bell-like tone and to play with a light touch -- it's become a go-to for a rocky chainsaw distortion and tends to be refretted to allow for heavy-handed playing -- almost a waste, except that audience tastes have changed away from twang and chime to rzzz
You are right. Overdrive was barely present in the late 50s.. the sixties changed the sound of that clean tone. I have a clone if a p90s les paul and it sings great with a clean sound. I like both sounds. Cheers.
Ooof, “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love” sounded nice and thick on the LP… really liked it.
It's probably been inspired by Phil X's cover. I agree, the tone is awesome !
... till the ad, ugh!
"lets just go rock, that's what we are here for" ~ Michael Lemmo Mar 19, 2019
@David Travis that's from Lemmo's first GOTD when he took over for Agnesi
This kid makes all the guitars he demos sound great.
Stoked to be able to buy this one…..arrives tomorrow
As much as I love the Lemmo looper jams you can’t beat an old skool Agnesi style one song per pickup selecter day, keep up the great work M and J
Wow!
Annnnd I remember why I love Les Pauls!!!!
The binding makes the guitar look really good!
love hearing the original lemmo tunes tbh but this guitar is a dream machine no doubt.
I own a '73 Custom also black just like this one. Great guitar. The Alnico 2 pickups are super soft sounding and keep the lows clear. Very cool!
Lemmo rockin' that green Tortex .88 oh yes indeed
If you want it, ya gotta bleed for it, baby. 🤘Loved the bridge pickup playing!
My first Gibson was that exact year and model, "Fretless Wonder". It weight at least 11 lbs and I weight 135 lbs. in 1973.
I've got one just like it. 1st owner mine is a 1972 triple pick-up it also weighs about 10lbs. Still my favorite guitar..
That tone!🙌🔥🔥🔥🔥
You know it's rockin' when you can't hear a Freaking thing Michael is saying. Good job Mike and Jen!!
Really sweet sounding guitar. A real beauty.
such a great sounding guitar. And very very nicely played!
Cool LP, I dig the yellowed binding.
That sounds so amazing!
Wish I could get my hands on a les Paul like that
That’s a really nice custom my favourite type of Les paul and what a sick guitar player
I will be upset if we ever get a guitar of the day without a Jen woohoo :-)
Great guitar. Awesome playing as usual.
⚓️ Thanks Jen, Mike. 😎
Hats off Lemmo! 👍🏻
Awesome 👍🔥🎸🦅
If mass does affect tone, that guitar definitely upholds the theory...very big sound out of that ole gal!
Lemmo's just rockin' out tonight!
No one else is rocking a you-tube channel like this. It's the perfect match between Lemmo and Norm.

Epic haunting descending bend.
Michael is great, Gibsons are the best, to me anyway!!!, love Norman's place and Jen, Clyde
that is a really nice les paul nice demo too Michael
I been to the edge, from there I stood and looked down, you know I lost a lot of friends there baby , I got no time to mess around
Enamorado de esa guitarra legendaria
My favorite Van Halen riff. Sounded killer
Love a Custom
Absolutely smoking dude - wow!
Whata beauty
Great Job, nice guitar👍
I was wondering what day it is so informative
fkn Lemmo, Luv this Guy, Salute from Detroit!!
Black beauty!

For some unexplained reason, I need to hear Fly By Night right now.
LOL
Nice!
My year 1972
Very nice Les Paul, no wants to put frets in it with that funky neck binding
That is one mean Les Paul 😎
Does anyone know What overdrive pedal he's using with that Deluxe reverb?
Hey Michael Lemmo, what a great sound and skills! What guitar effects do you use here?
Sick 🤘🤘
Similiar to my 78 LP custom silver burst heavy but sounds and plays well 😎
The best rock GOTD ever!!!! Suprised Norm hasnt been selling tickets to these. Could make a fortune for midnight mission.
It is restricted pandemic rules. It would be cool to be there when he plays.
Please, what amp do su you use in this demo? Or pedals
Thanks 🙏
👏👏👏

Yeah, so this is the guitar that I would like purchased for me. Who's gonna buy it?
beauty !!!! que mal que soy pobre jajaja

black les pauls are classic, i got one myself. wish it had binding and the diamond headstock tho. pure aesthetics

am i wrong when i say old strings are awesome at staying in in tune and sounding awesome?
cool
A heavy ass Les Paul IS the sound of Ronk and Roll!
It's the sound of chiropractors cashing paychecks.
@@photopicker Ha! Their pain comes through intheir playing!
Built for nothin but rockin roll.
sounds particularly articulate for a gibson. I wonder if the ebony fret board is doing that?
naw that's just lemmo
Customs tend to sound huge and articulate at the same time, could be the ebony? Who knows
Gotcha beat with a Les Paul Deluxe Pro coming in at 12 lbs 8 oz!

What happened to the original pickups w/ 'Gibson' on the covers??
This one is actually a ‘73. That’s why it doesn’t have the embossed covers like most ‘72’s……Brandon at Norms texted me the pots and they’re ‘73.
Jimmy Page did have a Black Beauty, although it was not part of the Led Zeppelin stage show
it was stolen
It was at RAH
Thats when I was Learning all them Tunes. What that Guitar was made for. Usta sell for a Whooping $600
No Loop Lemmo ... 😁
Ha, not today, but the usual reverb turned to 11.
Everytime Lemmo plays a Les Paul he goes for rock roll riffs but....when playing a strat or tele he plays easy, peasy, light, and breezy progressions.
Hey it’s not like these were made for jazz

Sounds like my Epiphone.
This 72 screams so much louder than the 86
I got a buddy that has a 75.heavy girl
God Les Paul's just do it right! Great guitars! Need to do more bursts too! However! Gotta do a Maton!

72 didnt have witch hat knobs
oof that zeppelin cover
