THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST IDEA! :) I've been involved with trail camera companies for years and this is the most simple/affordable application EVER! Better than ANY OTHER MOUNT METHOD EVER .... THANKS! HIGHLY recommend this mini ball head application for anyone looking for sensible mounting options in any scenario ... !
Cool mount. I use a very similar ball mount for my selfie stick and cell phone to do all my videos. Works great. Glad you have found this hack yourself. Awesome. Have a great day.
Great idea! However, the challenge is unscrewing it from the tree. The ball joint comes lose from the hanger bolt, even when i used a stop nut tight... Maybe permanent loc tite ?
I am such a stick abuser - yes I confess...I think right now each of my cameras has one or two sticks on them. I really like your ideas, especially the hanger bolt. I am on this like mud on a rug. Thanks Dave for a great video!
At the start I thought you had been watching us setup our cameras 🙂 I really like this mount, we will have to give it a go, thanks. I think we might struggle to find 1/4-20 hanger bolts, everything over here is metric but I am sure we can find a different fixing
Yep Dave, I raised my hand as one of those guys who almost always shoved sticks behind my trail-cams to get the proper angle. I'll get some of these mini ball head mounts. Full-watch. Have a fine week. Don 🤠 4/23/23
Hello there Dave!! These mini ball heads are a great idea. I don't have any trail cams but I can see many uses for these ball heads for my regular action cams. Thanks for sharing and take care!!
I've been using these for 3 years now. Great. Thanks for the video. I can now share it with friends when I'm trying to describe how to use them and where to buy them.
Dave thanks for posting as always!! Ya also use those devices make a massive help for placement of cameras 🎥! I always enjoy your post ! Just great to know there other people around the world with the same passion as me !👍🎥
What a great option. Thanks for sharing it and also sharing some creative ways that you have put it to use. Definitely going to have to order some of those.
Great tips Dave, this should be very helpful for so many… me included. We use ball heads that are mounted on top of our Trail Camera Mounting Stick and Tree Mounted Screws-In Mounts. However, they are made of steel and require constant maintenance and oiling because the ball heads rust/corrode. I could simply leave our metal ones permanently and operate positions in mount these on top and use these to control the camera angles. This could help me by making it possible not to have to carry cans of WD-40 into the field and removing the mounts from the field for maintenance. These will also be great on top of our camera mounting sticks. Will just screw these on to the camera mounts on the sticks and use this device to control the movement and angles of the cameras. Thank you sir, I’ll be putting dozens of these to good use in the field. Aho! ✋🏼 George Silver Hawk
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial I will have to do a little video of the ones I make cos mounting trail cams can be a pain as you know, it’s a cheap & simple solution & you can just screw the mount to a tree or building, gate post or wherever & leave it there, I have about 11 in different places & the two other parts live on my two cams, just unscrew the bolt in the mount & pop it through the washer in the cam, all angles are easy to adjust & very strong not like the die cast that breaks when you tighten the bolt, & I airbrush them to match where the live, sometimes I can’t find em 😂😂
Very cool buddy! I'm going to get a few of those for sure! I think I might weld a lag bolt to a short 1/4 inch bolt so I can screw into the tree with a wrench! Thanks for sharing my friend!
Those mounts look very handy and it’s certainly easier to adjust the angle than trying to stuff lots of pieces of wood behind the camera! 😂 I think we’ll have to try that on our cameras in the future! Thanks for sharing
That is a slick idea! Like the Great One (Red Green) says. If the women don't find ya handsome they should at least find ya handy 😉. Great idea and may go to the ball mount.
I’m guilty to I’ve done that tat hundreds of times. Thanks for the tips I think I will use the second one. I used a tripod with a ball head and seems to work fairly well by the raccoons knock it over very often.
I have watched all your trail cam videos and learn a lot from them. I like the idea of this ball head set-up but have a concern about the range of motion when you pull the ball up into that 90 degree slot. Doesn’t that limit how much you can tilt the camera from side to side? Thank you for all the tips! Bill DeWitt, MI.
Thanks for watching. You should be able to get them at the big home improvement stores or tractor supply or comparable stores. They are called “hanger bolts”
Are you using the ball head to screw in the hanger bolt? Have you had any difficulty getting the bolt started when screwing into the tree? I am just wondering if using the ball head as a handle to screw in the bolt if it might apply to much pressure on the ball head?
These seem like a great idea but they have a major problem. When you try to unscrew them from the tree the ball head unscrews from the hanger bolt leaving the hanger bolt in the tree! I haven’t figured out a way to keep that from happening. I have to carry a pair of vise grips with me to get the hanger bolts out of the tree!
I’ve been useing a diy one that #jaseoutdoors posted 2 years ago for my game cams & #reolink cameras and the solar panels ( thanks for the heads up #huntingfarmer ) around here and then use a #masterlock python lock ( because tweakers ) so far they’ve been up for a year and still working ..

I see the same problem!

Thanks for watching Dave. I always appreciate it 👍
Looks versatile, Dave.
Thanks for watching John 👍
Another excellent video!!!....Yes, I'm guilty. Those sure would make mounting a camera better.
Haha! Thanks for watching Chuck 👍
#2 definitely the Public land choice!! Thanks for sharing these great ideas!!
Thanks for watching Phil! I always appreciate it 👍
I definitely need this in my life!! I’m always wedging sticks behind my trail cameras!!
Haha! Thanks for watching! I appreciate it 👍
Great idea, I never heard of these before.
Thanks for watching Joey 👍
Great ideals Dave 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for watching Randy 👍

Haha. Thanks for watching. I’ve always been surprised the camera manufacturers cater to us and not have metric fittings on the cameras 😁

Thanks for watching Mike! 👍
Very Helpful!
I appreciate you watching 👍
Ingenious Dave. I don't put out a ton of trail cameras but when I do, this is the method I'll need to use.
Great info Dave.
Thanks for watching Rande 👍

I appreciate you watching! Hope all is well 👍
I just ordered a bunch… they will also work great on regular screw in mounts that don’t have any adjustment. Thanks for your efforts!
I appreciate you watching! I believe you’ll find them useful 👍

Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts and experience 👍
A bit of farmer ingenuity! Love it. 😊
Haha. Guilty 😁
Thanks for watching 👍
Yes I’m guilty of using sticks 😂
But my solution was two washers welded to the bolts. After the case broke on a ball one similar to yours
I appreciate you watching and sharing your experience 👍

Thanks for watching! That’ll work perfectly (I’ve done that myself 😁) 👍
Like #106 for you my brother! Awesome Video! Great Tip! Great Product!
Wow I'm going to do number two😮
Thanks for watching 👍
I use Spy High mounting system... But I do like your ground stake idea.
Thanks for watching Chris. I appreciate it 👍
I like that gadget
Thanks for watching Jason 👍
Great product Dave, I really like the step post mount, would also work for a gopro or an action camera.
You’re right! Thanks for watching Paul 👍
I like versatile pieces of equipment like that. Great price on it too.
Thanks for watching Titus 👍
A really great mount that could be useful for many different applications. 👍
I appreciate you watching 👍
That's a great little rig! Thanks for showing, I'll be getting some👍
I appreciate you watching 👍
Old stick trick guilty ✋🏼✋🏼✋🏼✋🏼😂 so that’s how you get your ground level videos 👍👍
Haha. Busted 😁
Thanks for watching Brian. I hope you’re turkey hunting is going well 👍

Like the Great One (Red Green) says.

Great idea and may go to the ball mount.
Haha! Red Green, my hero 😁👍
Looks like it'll do the trick
Thanks for watching 👍

I've got no use for straps......I get my best results with small augers and the rotating/tilting heads and my tree of choice are palms!!😎
Haha! Thanks for watching 😁👍

I'll send you one of mine
Going try these there eh! I'm getting tired of doing the stick setup... lol
Haha! Thanks for watching 👍
Where can the 4 inch lag bolts be purchased? I like the idea of not having the strap around the tree. Great video
Thanks for watching. You should be able to get them at the big home improvement stores or tractor supply or comparable stores. They are called “hanger bolts”
That looks like a great option for private land but on public I don’t put any cams out without a cable lock unfortunately
Thanks for watching. That’s a good point. I often rely on the camera not being seen while on public. They can’t steal what they don’t see 😜
Very interest product idea and design Dave, you better get a patent on those items.
Haha! Thanks for watching Craig 👍
just use two eye bolts one with 4x20 threads and one with lag threads and a bolt and nut to connect the two
Are you using the ball head to screw in the hanger bolt? Have you had any difficulty getting the bolt started when screwing into the tree? I am just wondering if using the ball head as a handle to screw in the bolt if it might apply to much pressure on the ball head?
👍👍

I haven’t figured out a way to keep that from happening. I have to carry a pair of vise grips with me to get the hanger bolts out of the tree!
I have had that happen a time or two as well. Not ideal but I still love the flexibility it provides at a reasonable price 👍
Couldn't find any hanger bolts 4" at Lowes. Wheres the best place?
I would’ve thought the big home improvement stores would carry them. I got mine at tractor supply
Thanks for watching and sharing your experiences. Not doubt that Jase’s version will work 👍
Thanks Dave! Great ideas!
