We know that Montserrat Caballe wrote the lyrics for this song. As for different languages Freddie also sang in Japanese ( with Queen "Teo Torriatte . Let us Cling Together" and with Montserrat " La Japonaise ") few words in Spanish in " Las Palabras De Amor" and some gibberish in arab and parsee in " Mustapha" . Both songs with Queen

Thanks, Phil -- "Ensueno" is pronounced "En-Swen-yo" and it means "dream" - see notes below about Freddie's original composition (exercises in free love).. and listen to it, if you have time & inclination - Fred sings the part intended for Montsy - in this final version, she sings that part, and he comes in deeper... tenor - which is a bit unexpected for Fred.. but so exemplary of his range.. Thanks so much!

There`s not much more to say, than you already said: The whole album is a pure masterpiece. Both entered a new level of making music and they did it together, both are legends and can never be displaced. BTW for this song Montserrat wrote the lyrics. It was Freddie’s demo for “Ensueno”, where Fred sings Montserrat’s SOPRANO part.
(The BEST AUDIO for the song is the post showing a photo of Fred in a tuxedo vest w a bow tie.)
…One of Freddie’s friends (I forget who, right now) actually described Fred as being an “omniglot” (someone who speaks several languages fluently).
He was actually Parsi (Persian), born in Zanzibar. He attended several years of boarding school in India… so he would’ve spoken those local languages. He didn’t move to England until he was 18.
Fred also spoke Japanese, Spanish, Gaelic… those are just the languages I know of.
There are three foreign-language songs (that I know of) by Queen:
“Teo Torriate” in Japanese
“Las Palabras de Amore” in Spanish
and
A Hungarian folk song that Fred learned just for the audience in Budapest when Queen performed there in 1986. (I can never spell the long title w/o looking it up!)

It was not a demo done for Montserrat. Exercises in Free love was the B side to The Great Pretender. However, Freddie did get Montserrat to hear this as an idea of the work they could do. She liked it so much she went ahead and put words to it and surprised Freddie one evening at the Operah House and sung it, with Mike Moran on the Piano.
