The love triangle wasn’t as bad as people say well mainly the whole Ben thing. I always thought it was just ben alternate personality the actual ben doesn’t seem comfortable I doubt if they somehow get into a relationship it would end in like two days.
it's not a love triangle, it's a love corner love triangles should at LEAST have the one being pined over like one of the love interests, and then have THAT one like the other love interest.

i really like the fixxed meaning behind max rude behavior. It comes from a sence of passion and that he KNOWS everyone can be better. To see it get wasted just bothers him.
That is awful and narcissistic. I like that before he was just a shitty guy. Now he's like, well I'm allowed to be mean to them because they don't fit my standard of what a human should be. And what's worse is its framed like it's healthy and noble. Can you image the people who watch this and take that away. This is media literacy theory. Why not just have a character you don't like. Sometimes people do things that are unjustifiable. Period. I like max, he's mean, doing illegal stuff, and you have to defend him in court. And the guy everyone liked killed some one. It's a great contrast.

But Max is a defendant and is theoretically someone you /want/ to help and feel sympathetic for. And making him act like either of those directions is a huge writing mistake on this part anyway. Big Top was always going to be Big Flop. He's also got the weird romance age gap no one seems to notice for some reason... like cmon.
Yeah no matter what you say about the Ace Attorney anime, turnabout big top was just so much better in the anime than in the game. I don’t even particularly hate the game version, but god the anime version gives so much more heart to the story. Seeing Moe morn for Mr. Berry, Regina having a better mental breakdown at the end, and that murder method scene. It’s so good
I don't think turnabout big top was quite horrible, I just think it would be a great turnabout if it was made on a 3D Game like Dual Destinies/SoJ Imagine having those circus scenes on an anime cutscene
I love the anime honestly, I watched it subbed and as it aired the best I could and it really while it looks Not Great I think conveyed the spirit of the games
One of the things I liked was that things kinda got right to the point in the anime Because in the game most of Max's lines are cringe to read and then I had to spend 5 min to convince him LIKE DUDE YOU ARE UNDER ARREST AND I AM HERE TO HELP YOU The whole thing was really annoying
He seems more like an arrogant person, maybe because they removed the part of the video game where he was in love with Regina. Luckily they did that because the whole situation of a Twenty-something guy in falling in love with a 16 year old girl (Who acted like she was 6 in the video game) was creepy.
What I despised about Turnabout Big Top in the games was the lack of emotional response Regina had after finding out she almost accidentally killed Bat. Right after she cries, Moe comes in and is all ‘Okay but we need the circus back together, you see!’, brushing off why Acro did what he did. With the anime adaptation, allowing Regina to apologise straight to Acro’s face admitting her guilt, ridding herself of her innocence AND Moe consoling her by showing how lives are truly important to people…it made him feel like a real character instead of pure comedic relief. The execution in the anime is miles better than in the games.

Man, all the decisions here are SO GOOD! Giving the wholeass circus more of a purpose for even existing instead of just being red herrings and time wasters. They got an actual heckin arc of Max having reasons for his actions, everyone realizing they were wrong about him, and then WORKING TOGETHER TO ACT A BIGASS CIRCUS SHOW TO HELP THE COURT CASE like bruh that's such a cool idea!!! They get to show they can be awesome when they really try, which was the whole thing Max wanted.
Also seeeeeriously, having Regina actually get goddamn character development and legitimately understand yknow.. death, in the end. Srsly it was so weird and uncomfortable how everyone was lusting over an underage girl who acted even younger than her age because she didn't heckin know THAT DEATH EXISTED. Ending that whole plot with an actual proper resolution and apology and her growing as a person, and focusing on THAT instead of the love triangle part = absolutely rescued the whole thing, holy shit!
Also tbh Moe was always the only nice dude in the original case, so I'm glad they focused on showing more of his emotions here and expanding upon his history with the ringleader and grieving his best friend. It also helps that he isn't constantly interrupting your investigation with his jokes so that sheer annoyance factor doesn't distract from how much of a nice person he is. And this time everyone else is actually interesting too! Seriously, absolute triumph of adaptation and I wonder why so many of the other cases weren't done this well. Did they spend all their creative power on saving this one, haha?
I think it's funny bc most of these things were in the game just either not as emphasized or people didn't notice. - technically max's reasons were stated in the game just not as elaborated. - The ending of the case was focused on Regina's development and apology in both cases. Just here they did it better. Also I say this a lot but it should be noted that the game was 20 years ago & Japan where age of consent was different and Regina isn't the only example of this showing in the series (though she is the most glaring). Not to say it makes things okay but it at least provides some context. Though honestly...Ben is a creep regardless, like even if Regina was 18, Ben would still be hella creepy. He's like twice her age AND is directly taking advantage of her naivete to get with her. Also yes I love Moe and am glad this helps people appreciate him more

Like I adored Moe's arc even back in the game but lots of people completely missed it cos of how the case was structured in the game and none of this good potential was really elaborated upon, while all the bad stuff kinda took attention away from it. The adaptation did a great job of identifying the good parts and giving them the spotlight they truly deserved!

The case was improved tremendously by the anime. They expedited the whole Trilo testimony to Phoenix proving him wrong outside court AND made the ending INFINITELY much more heartwrenching.
Yeah the fact Moe was the only one in both the game and in the anime to know acro was the killer. In the game warning phoenix that acro is the type who is “used to walking a type rope” meaning he’s not going to cave under any pressure we put on him and that only hard evidence will have any effect. And in the anime Moe discovering Acros letter to Regina alongside Nick showing both of them coming to the realization of who the killer is.
I'm genuinely impressed they made a 'I'm famous and I look down on others' story so emotionally touching and human, making it feel like despite his rough exterior, he really does mean well and genuinely wants the best for his fellow performers, and is just getting frustrated that they don't want the best for themselves.
It does help that we actually see him apologize to the circus people for being rude too, and the salary negotiation to help motivate them. Seeing the circus people help out proving his innocence was also quite a nice touch since Ben was also among the helpers as he arguably has the biggest beef with Max, seeing that Ben was actually physically assaulted by him.
It also makes sense since he's self-made and it would be far easier for him to look down on them and despise them for not working as hard as him and still being rewarded. Instead, his anger comes from his genuine frustration at the wasted potential in front of him, probably only amplified by the way he is kind of put on a pedestal as a performer despite believing all of them could be on the same level. I think it's kind of like being really good at drawing, and people say "oh you must be so talented" or "oh I could never do that", mixed with a confrontational and passionate person.

It’s amazing how much more likeable Regina becomes just by letting her apologise to Acro to his face. I really couldn’t stand her in the game but that scene here actually made me feel bad for her.

First having his parents abandon him and Bat, and then after finally being saved by Russell he loses his brother in coma due to Regina who then proceeds to downplay Bat's incident to the point of driving anyone insane while taking no responsibility whatsoever. And on top of that, Acro propably didn't know what was going on outside of his room for the past 6 months besides of the things Regina told him which would slowly build up a false image of her as a cold hearted, selfish asshole who never cared about anyone but herself. So yeah, he was bound to snap at some point.

The anime tends to give a bare bones account of all the cases in the game, removing nuances and interesting characterization in the process. Fortuntely, those usual problems wound up working out for Turnabout Big Top, where the nuances only made everyone worse.

I like Turnabout Big Top a lot because I think Acro is one of the best murderers. However the anime really made it so much more poignant and gave all the characters more development. Probably more than any other case it really works.
I think the same! Acro is the most human "villain" in all the game, and I believe a lot of people hate the case bc of the murder method and Regina (whom I love btw). The whole game skips a lot of emotion so that part is only natural. And... Ben. For what I can see, the entire thing whit him was managed outside courtroom in the anime.
what really annoyed me about the case was 1) cross-examining a puppet that's clearly a pedophilic 30-something year old trying to marry a minor and pretend it's the puppet, 2) the near repetitiveness of the information since the murder was so complicated that the devs felt that it was impossible to clarify without going into extreme detail, and 3) the rather lacklustre conclusion and resolution to the case and its victims. the anime vastly improved on all of that and made it so much more emotional :)
I love that we also a scene with Regina and Moe. Moe really is a surrogate father to Regina and it sucks that there wasn’t any scenes in the game exploring that bond they had.
Three best improvements about this case here: 1.) No creepy fawning over Regina by Ben and Max, her relationship is just with Bat - which to be fair - while still kinda creepy, is far more understandable as they were both raised in the circus. They've known one another for almost a decade. 2.) Max's egocentric and toxic perfectionist behavior is still deplorable, but he's given a bit more depth in terms of how he was willing to go about motivating the rest of the performers and staff (negotiating a raise for everyone is an insanely nice gesture)... And makes him a better parallel to Franziska, and ties into her own arc with perfectionism and what bettering oneself means. Also, making the man genuinely apologize to the others for his antics, understanding while his heart was in the right place, his behavior was still unacceptable, and that he'd only come back if THEY want him to. 3.) Regina's breakdown happening in front of Acro... And Moe telling her that people's lives aren't to be made light of (literally, in this case because of Russ's inability to trust Regina growing up and knowing how to grieve). They're not stars, they're people... And she unintentionally ruined two lives all because of what she thought was a silly prank. That's probably all Acro wanted, was an acknowledgement that she was aware of the pain she caused.
I legit started getting emotional over BIG TOP of all things bc of the ending with Regina apologizing. Its so bittersweet and a humanizing moment for her.
@@PlutoDarknight It is if you haven't played the games, i remember that the first thing I came in contact that was AA related was the anime, i felt like it was unbearable because the plot just moved too fast (Mainly because the pace of the game is naturally slower and it gives you as much time as you need). However after I played the trilogy, AJ and The Investigations games, i felt like my watch was going much smoother than last time, Why? Honestly, I'm not sure, but I felt that it was only logical to come to the conclusion that the AA anime was made for the fans, nobody else.
It really feels like that this episode was basically an apology for how bad the case in the game really is. It still has some minor issues, but it's a far cry better than the game version itself. Everyone seems to take Russel Berry's death far more seriously than just them joking around. It explores the characters far better and gives them better arcs. It cuts out so much of the cringy stuff and awful elements. This episode and the DLC case for Dual Destinies are far superior to the game version of Big Top.

I really like that in the show they got the rest of the circus crew to reenact the murder to show how it went down instead of the game just having vague flashbacks. Could you imagine a real defense attorney bringing out a recreation of half a building and having actors in costume come out to reenact a murder? lol
I’ve always said this. The anime ties it up nicely and due to it being shorter it makes less insane leaps of logic. It explained some of the things that the game didn’t really cover as well. I remember how embarrassed I was when I had to google the literal FIRST CASE beyond the tutorial in the second game because of how ridiculous it was. Edit: apparently not the first case lol, I remembered wrong and thought Big Top was the first. I don’t need anyone else telling me how to beat the game I already played.

I think my favorite part is the re-enactment of the moment of the murder. From Moe as well as Ben & Trilo helping demonstrate, to explaining how the cape got on the bust without it defying physics like in the game, and Maya being Maya. And then them proving the whole flight thing could've happened by DEMONSTRATING IT IN COURT.
Oh 100%. Here he feels regret that he even planned to kill Regina in the first place, and tried to stop her when she went "Wait!" cause he KNEW she'd blame herself for what was going on. He's going to serve his time in jail, but he has faith that, with Regina and the Big Berry Circus by his side, Bat will be waiting for Acro when he gets out.
The problem with Moe is that not only are the jokes bad, but they don't even make sense in the context their used. I can't just say egg-cellent or something when the situation has nothing to do with eggs.
If i had to guess it was a failure on the localization team's part. I hope. It seems like there was a pun that translated poorly and they couldnt find any way to make it make sense in english so they just went "fuck it, eggcellent". Good localization is incredibly important for translating jokes...
I can't get over how young Maya sounds! Like, it works with her childish sense of innocence and personality, but, I expected that voice to come from Pearl, not Maya. Pretty cute tho, not gonna lie. Kinda makes me wonder if Pearl's voice will sound more mature despite her being younger.
Yeah I honestly don't like this, I think it makes her seen less intelligent and takes away a lot of her personality. In the game Maya is the good chaotic friend and in the anime is the little cute sister, which as you say, is Pearls role.

Age difference between siblings counts a lot towards what their dynamic is like, and Maya and Phoenix vs Pearl and Phoenix/Pearl and Maya perfectly embodied the difference in dynamic between a sibling who is close to you in age vs one that has a large age gap with you
Haven't watched the anime yet, but I'm excited to do so. While I didn't necessarily despise the Big Top case from the game, it was my least favourite, probably due to the earraping music that played during each investigation. From what little I saw here, I am convinced the anime did this case better than JFA - also loved the Regina and Acro showdown at the end here, very impactful. Also why tf is Phoenix wearing his atrocious "Feenie" outfit in the first scene, lmfao.
Despite all the years, Phoenix still believed that Dahlia was truly innocent; a sweet, passionate girl, not the merciless, egoistical, cold-blooded murdered
All that organized chaos instead of doing one act per ring at a time and it's "boring"? And then he's impressed by that guy? Well, okay the midair disappearing act was something but then they're just throwing a bunch of cards out.
I think the shots aren't supposed to summarize the act but show they're just performing tricks with barely any cohesion. Their coordination is on point but there's not much else to feel engaged to.
The voices are pretty spot on with how I would picture they sound in the games. Only one that I was surprised at was Moe, for some reason I’d always picture him sounding like Curly

I can. - More emotional weight - Moe is more mature and shows growth, while also providing actual scenes of him mourning his co founder and friend - Regina's breakdown has more weight and is more likeable - Less of those annoying fucks Trilo and Ben - No creepy love triangle - Max is gay as fuck - More weight is given to Acro's breakdown - Moe's voice actor KILLED IT - Voice performances are AMAZING

This is one of the few times where an adaptation from the source material actually does a lot more world building of Berry Big Circus than in the games. I didn't find myself dying on the inside compared to playing the case in JfA, so good on the anime for pulling this off!!

At first before I watched this episode, I thought that big top was going to be just as miserable as the version in the game. But after watching this episode online, the people behind the anime deserve an award for turning dirt into gold.

Yeah no matter what you say about the Ace Attorney anime, turnabout big top was just so much better in the anime than in the game. I don’t even particularly hate the game version, but god the anime version gives so much more heart to the story. Seeing Moe morn for Mr. Berry, Regina having a better mental breakdown at the end, and that murder method scene. It’s so good

What I despised about Turnabout Big Top in the games was the lack of emotional response Regina had after finding out she almost accidentally killed Bat. Right after she cries, Moe comes in and is all ‘Okay but we need the circus back together, you see!’, brushing off why Acro did what he did.
With the anime adaptation, allowing Regina to apologise straight to Acro’s face admitting her guilt, ridding herself of her innocence AND Moe consoling her by showing how lives are truly important to people…it made him feel like a real character instead of pure comedic relief. The execution in the anime is miles better than in the games.

Man, all the decisions here are SO GOOD! Giving the wholeass circus more of a purpose for even existing instead of just being red herrings and time wasters. They got an actual heckin arc of Max having reasons for his actions, everyone realizing they were wrong about him, and then WORKING TOGETHER TO ACT A BIGASS CIRCUS SHOW TO HELP THE COURT CASE like bruh that's such a cool idea!!! They get to show they can be awesome when they really try, which was the whole thing Max wanted.
Also seeeeeriously, having Regina actually get goddamn character development and legitimately understand yknow.. death, in the end. Srsly it was so weird and uncomfortable how everyone was lusting over an underage girl who acted even younger than her age because she didn't heckin know THAT DEATH EXISTED. Ending that whole plot with an actual proper resolution and apology and her growing as a person, and focusing on THAT instead of the love triangle part = absolutely rescued the whole thing, holy shit!
Also tbh Moe was always the only nice dude in the original case, so I'm glad they focused on showing more of his emotions here and expanding upon his history with the ringleader and grieving his best friend. It also helps that he isn't constantly interrupting your investigation with his jokes so that sheer annoyance factor doesn't distract from how much of a nice person he is. And this time everyone else is actually interesting too! Seriously, absolute triumph of adaptation and I wonder why so many of the other cases weren't done this well. Did they spend all their creative power on saving this one, haha?
I think it's funny bc most of these things were in the game just either not as emphasized or people didn't notice.
- technically max's reasons were stated in the game just not as elaborated.
- The ending of the case was focused on Regina's development and apology in both cases. Just here they did it better.
Also I say this a lot but it should be noted that the game was 20 years ago & Japan where age of consent was different and Regina isn't the only example of this showing in the series (though she is the most glaring). Not to say it makes things okay but it at least provides some context. Though honestly...Ben is a creep regardless, like even if Regina was 18, Ben would still be hella creepy. He's like twice her age AND is directly taking advantage of her naivete to get with her.

Like I adored Moe's arc even back in the game but lots of people completely missed it cos of how the case was structured in the game and none of this good potential was really elaborated upon, while all the bad stuff kinda took attention away from it. The adaptation did a great job of identifying the good parts and giving them the spotlight they truly deserved!

The case was improved tremendously by the anime. They expedited the whole Trilo testimony to Phoenix proving him wrong outside court AND made the ending INFINITELY much more heartwrenching.

Yeah the fact Moe was the only one in both the game and in the anime to know acro was the killer.
In the game warning phoenix that acro is the type who is “used to walking a type rope” meaning he’s not going to cave under any pressure we put on him and that only hard evidence will have any effect.
And in the anime Moe discovering Acros letter to Regina alongside Nick showing both of them coming to the realization of who the killer is.
The japanese dub had Maximillian crying for Jesus. It was the funniest thing I heard from a japanese dub.

I'm genuinely impressed they made a 'I'm famous and I look down on others' story so emotionally touching and human, making it feel like despite his rough exterior, he really does mean well and genuinely wants the best for his fellow performers, and is just getting frustrated that they don't want the best for themselves.
It does help that we actually see him apologize to the circus people for being rude too, and the salary negotiation to help motivate them. Seeing the circus people help out proving his innocence was also quite a nice touch since Ben was also among the helpers as he arguably has the biggest beef with Max, seeing that Ben was actually physically assaulted by him.
It also makes sense since he's self-made and it would be far easier for him to look down on them and despise them for not working as hard as him and still being rewarded. Instead, his anger comes from his genuine frustration at the wasted potential in front of him, probably only amplified by the way he is kind of put on a pedestal as a performer despite believing all of them could be on the same level. I think it's kind of like being really good at drawing, and people say "oh you must be so talented" or "oh I could never do that", mixed with a confrontational and passionate person.

The anime tends to give a bare bones account of all the cases in the game, removing nuances and interesting characterization in the process. Fortuntely, those usual problems wound up working out for Turnabout Big Top, where the nuances only made everyone worse.
With that I allowed to make the actual interesting things better
Key example being the next trial, where Edgeworth makes his first appearance in the trial - instead of giving Nick info beforehand

I like Turnabout Big Top a lot because I think Acro is one of the best murderers. However the anime really made it so much more poignant and gave all the characters more development. Probably more than any other case it really works.
I think the same! Acro is the most human "villain" in all the game, and I believe a lot of people hate the case bc of the murder method and Regina (whom I love btw). The whole game skips a lot of emotion so that part is only natural. And... Ben. For what I can see, the entire thing whit him was managed outside courtroom in the anime.
what really annoyed me about the case was 1) cross-examining a puppet that's clearly a pedophilic 30-something year old trying to marry a minor and pretend it's the puppet, 2) the near repetitiveness of the information since the murder was so complicated that the devs felt that it was impossible to clarify without going into extreme detail, and 3) the rather lacklustre conclusion and resolution to the case and its victims. the anime vastly improved on all of that and made it so much more emotional :)

Three best improvements about this case here:
1.) No creepy fawning over Regina by Ben and Max, her relationship is just with Bat - which to be fair - while still kinda creepy, is far more understandable as they were both raised in the circus. They've known one another for almost a decade.
2.) Max's egocentric and toxic perfectionist behavior is still deplorable, but he's given a bit more depth in terms of how he was willing to go about motivating the rest of the performers and staff (negotiating a raise for everyone is an insanely nice gesture)... And makes him a better parallel to Franziska, and ties into her own arc with perfectionism and what bettering oneself means.
Also, making the man genuinely apologize to the others for his antics, understanding while his heart was in the right place, his behavior was still unacceptable, and that he'd only come back if THEY want him to.
3.) Regina's breakdown happening in front of Acro... And Moe telling her that people's lives aren't to be made light of (literally, in this case because of Russ's inability to trust Regina growing up and knowing how to grieve). They're not stars, they're people... And she unintentionally ruined two lives all because of what she thought was a silly prank. That's probably all Acro wanted, was an acknowledgement that she was aware of the pain she caused.

@@PlutoDarknight It is if you haven't played the games, i remember that the first thing I came in contact that was AA related was the anime, i felt like it was unbearable because the plot just moved too fast (Mainly because the pace of the game is naturally slower and it gives you as much time as you need).
However after I played the trilogy, AJ and The Investigations games, i felt like my watch was going much smoother than last time, Why? Honestly, I'm not sure, but I felt that it was only logical to come to the conclusion that the AA anime was made for the fans, nobody else.

It really feels like that this episode was basically an apology for how bad the case in the game really is. It still has some minor issues, but it's a far cry better than the game version itself. Everyone seems to take Russel Berry's death far more seriously than just them joking around. It explores the characters far better and gives them better arcs. It cuts out so much of the cringy stuff and awful elements. This episode and the DLC case for Dual Destinies are far superior to the game version of Big Top.
I like how Moe didn’t just send Regina into the gallery to tear down her world view but actually helped her pick herself up afterwards.
Man I love the anime version of this case. I saw the anime before playing the games, so I didn't understand why people hated this case!

I’ve always said this. The anime ties it up nicely and due to it being shorter it makes less insane leaps of logic. It explained some of the things that the game didn’t really cover as well. I remember how embarrassed I was when I had to google the literal FIRST CASE beyond the tutorial in the second game because of how ridiculous it was. Edit: apparently not the first case lol, I remembered wrong and thought Big Top was the first. I don’t need anyone else telling me how to beat the game I already played.

Look. As a serious artist and trained performer, I can’t respect their cheap gags and schtick. I worked hard for ten years on mastering the magic of arts. I think my favorite part is the re-enactment of the moment of the murder. From Moe as well as Ben & Trilo helping demonstrate, to explaining how the cape got on the bust without it defying physics like in the game, and Maya being Maya. And then them proving the whole flight thing could've happened by DEMONSTRATING IT IN COURT.

Oh 100%. Here he feels regret that he even planned to kill Regina in the first place, and tried to stop her when she went "Wait!" cause he KNEW she'd blame herself for what was going on. He's going to serve his time in jail, but he has faith that, with Regina and the Big Berry Circus by his side, Bat will be waiting for Acro when he gets out.
I loved the scene where the circus performers all helped with the reconstruction of the case!
The problem with Moe is that not only are the jokes bad, but they don't even make sense in the context their used. I can't just say egg-cellent or something when the situation has nothing to do with eggs.
In the words of Bojack Horseman, "it's not a pun if it only works one way."

Age difference between siblings counts a lot towards what their dynamic is like, and Maya and Phoenix vs Pearl and Phoenix/Pearl and Maya perfectly embodied the difference in dynamic between a sibling who is close to you in age vs one that has a large age gap with you

Haven't watched the anime yet, but I'm excited to do so. While I didn't necessarily despise the Big Top case from the game, it was my least favourite, probably due to the earraping music that played during each investigation. From what little I saw here, I am convinced the anime did this case better than JFA - also loved the Regina and Acro showdown at the end here, very impactful.
Also why tf is Phoenix wearing his atrocious "Feenie" outfit in the first scene, lmfao.

All that organized chaos instead of doing one act per ring at a time and it's "boring"? And then he's impressed by that guy? Well, okay the midair disappearing act was something but then they're just throwing a bunch of cards out.
I think the shots aren't supposed to summarize the act but show they're just performing tricks with barely any cohesion. Their coordination is on point but there's not much else to feel engaged to.
I freaking love the anime version of this Turnabout. Fixes so many things. I actually think it's one of my favorite in the series because of it.

The voices are pretty spot on with how I would picture they sound in the games. Only one that I was surprised at was Moe, for some reason I’d always picture him sounding like Curly
I’m loving the fact that they made a visual aid in the courtroom, like it’s the stuff in Van Zieks table in TGS (specifically the great departed soul and Twisted Karma and his last bow) come to life!
I love how they got the circus to help with the court performance.
I literally cannot explain in words how this is miles better than the game. Oh wait. I can.

- Moe is more mature and shows growth, while also providing actual scenes of him mourning his co founder and friend
- Regina's breakdown has more weight and is more likeable
- Less of those annoying fucks Trilo and Ben
- No creepy love triangle
- Max is gay as fuck
- More weight is given to Acro's breakdown
- Moe's voice actor KILLED IT
- Voice performances are AMAZING
Man this makes me like this horrendous case so much more! They gave actual character to the characters and also development. They made the case so much deeper!

This is one of the few times where an adaptation from the source material actually does a lot more world building of Berry Big Circus than in the games. I didn't find myself dying on the inside compared to playing the case in JfA, so good on the anime for pulling this off!!

At first before I watched this episode, I thought that big top was going to be just as miserable as the version in the game. But after watching this episode online, the people behind the anime deserve an award for turning dirt into gold.

I like to think Max's magic show planted the seeds on Phoenix to enjoy magic tricks and shows, which bloomed when he got Trucy. Just saying.
