The seller is from Latvia, so theres a high chance that your wheel really is a stolen wheel from Norway. There has been a group of eastern europe people who break into new BMW’s in Norway and steal the wheels and iDrive, and most of those things On eBay from there abouts is stolen.

@@driftingcars904 they clamped down on some latvian or lithuanian organized thieves a few months ago, police found their stockpile of steering wheels, iDrive screens/buttons and more hidden in the woods - worth over15k usd
Germany is fucked up, a lot of cars get jacked, a lot more than in norway. Almost every part which has been stolen, is from a car in Germany

This is why the insurance for these cars is ridiculously expensive in Sweden, people from eastern europe come up here and break into parked cars and basically empty them stuff that can be sold on EBay
Hey, looking for some advice! Im planning on doing this steering wheel upgrade to my 1 series as I like the look and want to have cruise (i know I need cruise coding). Most f30 steering wheels seem to have paddles and my car is a manual, I know the paddles wont work which is fine (ill remove them most likely) but will have the paddle version confused the car? Will I HAVE to remove the paddles not to confuse the car?

The car retains memory despite the battery being disconnected, so u need to wait ~10mins after battery disconnection before working on airbag removal.

Hey, if I have paddle shifters on my wheel already, will I need to code it if I want to swap for M sport one? I live in EU, so I guess if I get single stage airbag, I won't have to do anything.
Nope, no coding is required in your case, just plug and play.

Same type of steering wheel, that's true, it's really hard to take it off the first time.
The problem is when you need to code out airbag and it's only 1 stage - and who knows if it's even working - I mean you'll find it out only in accident lol. In addition if your car had heating or vibro motor in steering wheel - you'll need to code that too and no guarantee it will work. There are so many things
Ara Arutyan my heated steering works, and you know your airbag works when the airbag restraint light isnt on! Lol. Its coded exactly how a European spec f30 would be coded. No reason for it to not work. I didnt have vibro either way.

To code paddle shifters you need the E-says software. Look on the "bimmerpost.com" website and search for coding paddle shifters as well as E-sys coding. I believe kies motorsports has a video on how to install paddle shifters and the code required to activate them

Thanks for this video. I just did the m sport steering swap. I was wondering besides paddle shifter coding is there any other coding we should be concerned about like airbag etc.? I did have a "chases stabilization" warning come up on my test drive.

most likely yes. kies motorsportds goes into more detail about this. but it is fairly simple especially if you have bimmercode.

Hey Swift I am aslo upgrading my steering wheel to M SPORT doing the install myself. But a local shop that works on BMW's told me the only way to get the paddle shifters to work is if I also buy the airbag coil which I believe is like another $400 did you have to do this to get your shifters to work?

The M Sport steering wheel is the better wheel especially for look and feel of the wheel. Over the top having to get one though. Better to just get it with the car originally.

Swift were you able to code your msprt wheel? Were any of your airbag connectors broken? I bought an mpsort with paddle shift and dual stage airbag, however the yellow connector on the airbag had a broken clip so it won't click onto the steering wheel. I'm returning the unit

Orhan Arslan yes that’s pretty much what I did, but you must code it before driving for safety purposes if you got a dual stage airbag for a car that’s coded for single stage, or vice versa. Theoretically you can install the wheel, plug it in and drive but you should atleast code the airbag to work to its proper functionality. Safety first! Thank you so much, greetings from NYC!
I'm thinking about getting this for my 428i coupe. I have the European model with Kilometer but it's left had drive. My original steering wheel has paddle shifters will I need to code that and the airbag? Or do I not need to code anything?

does this need some sort of conversion unit for the multi controls? I want to do a swap on my e90, supposedly the e89 z4 is plug and play but those wheels are getting harder to find and cost more then the new M wheels.

Why not purchase the dual stage airbag and you won’t have to code it.. Also to be clear to people , you only need to code it if you get a single stage airbag instead of dual stage airbag
