What really gets me is that when we get to the Xenosaga III bubble, it shows Universitas, as well as Nephilim and Abel, both of which are direct references to Xenogears. This is of course, copium on my part, as I'm aware Gears is a Square property, but I know damn well Takahashi did that on purpose lol
There's a very very good chance that XBCX is one of the launch titles for the Switch 2. Big open world title in a known series would be a good draw, especially if they remaster the visuals. Essentially the Switch 2's BOTW. It's hard to imagine a remake of Xenosaga, as I'm pretty sure Bandai Namco own the publishing rights. Unless they've struck a deal with Nintendo, much like Xenogears, we probably won't see a remake or remaster. However, I would personally love it as it's not accessible in the UK so I've never gotten a chance to play them!
Their choice to put not only the Xenoblade characters but also KOSMOS is ambiguous cause it means it's not just looking toward what's comming next as the Xenoblade's Klaus saga concluded but also acknowledging the past, which means there might be something going on. Also their leaked "Legacy" title is suspicious for Xenosaga remakes. The other studio I can think of that does videos about their studio and games like this is Square Enix I believe.
I just thought about the fact they only showed KOSMOS to represent Xenosaga here. We might say of course because the other 3D models for Shion and such are too old but it makes sense with the theory of how the inclusion of KOSMOS in the Xenoblade lore could play out with the ending credit cutscene of Future Redeemed if the light arriving on earth is indeed KOSMOS because at the end of Xenosaga 3 KOSMOS is floating in the cosmos (pun intended) toward earth without her crew members. So some people theorized KOSMOS would be like a bridge character between Xenosaga and Xenoblade and only her would appear in Xenoblade. And so it would make perfect sense to why we only see KOSMOS from Xenosaga during the final scene of the presentation.
Rip Xenogears couldn't be part of that lineup at the end. But my guess is on Square Enix. They aren't gonna let go of Xenogears or let anyone else use it.... Edit: That and well... that would require them to make a whole new model of Fei at least, which would probably already take too much time...
Or the reason why Elma and Kosmos are there is because they are they only other Monolithsoft characters with hd models, because monolithsoft hasn’t had any in house other HD games outside Xenoblade in recent memory.
The entire theming of Future Redeemed was to always move into the future no matter what, but to not leave everything behind that is of value. There’s a balance of past and future you have to integrate, which is what Alpha went wrong. I think if the radio at the FR didn’t suddenly bring up Xenoblade X & Xenosaga, I would be more inclined to believe you. Takahashi is not adverse to retconning things to fit a new plan (Xenoblade 2 to 1) I’m just saying, don’t be surprised if it happens. 🤷♂️
@@XenaticLuxo The radio, to me, is just references, I don’t believe xenosaga or x are canon to Klaus’ world. They are canon as multiverses and alternate universes and that Xenoblade will use some elements from X and Saga, the same way that xenosaga was an alternate universe to Gears and had elements from Gears.
@@shulkash8799 I mean, X was literally supposed to be a reboot of Saga, but the development went horribly and porting it is far more costly than the money they can potentially make out of it. I wouldn't be surprised if Xenoblade 4, launch title of Switch 2 btw, ends up being a reboot of X which would make it a re-reboot of Xenosaga, but trying to do it the Xenoblade way... Xenogears and Xenosaga failed partly due to being multi episodes, continuous story, franchises. Xenoblade technically is that, but they're thought to be able to start with whichever, which is a HUGE boost in market sales. Xenosaga utterly failed in the market by episode 2, forcing the 3-6 episodes to be contained in 1, Xenogears was cut short on the very first game, same goes for X essentially (both went through dev hell). Considering some themes and aesthetics were already re-used for Xenogears, Saga and X... Wouldn't be surprised to just see a literal "Xenoblade-ified" Xenosaga, just as what Xenoblade is to Xenogears, but with a better mindset than the almost disaster of a project X was
I would cry if Xenosaga got a remake. Very formative RPG for me. Even as a kid, I really liked RPGs where my characters were actual adults since the theming and content was really different. Sad to say though that the Xenoblade series doesn't really resonate with me (character designs/writing of the 1st game). Never got to play Chronicles X because I never owned a Wii U so actually pretty excited if this one gets a remake.
Others have already said it, but they definitely used elma and kos-mos because the models were on-hand. I'm sure we would've got like the namco x capcom/project x zone characters or such if they had HD 3d models for them. They wanted a celebration of the series but for that last scene they didn't want to make any new models cause that's a lot more resources than this. This video was definitely not high effort. It's fancy special effects that aren't too hard to achieve plus a new cutscene (definitely made with the xenoblade 3 engine), using models they had. I wouldn't get my hopes up on this meaning much. However, I do feel we could get a remake of one of them, but I feel like that is more coincidental and not purposeful.
Or they put the characters who have decent looking models with a cohesive art style between them . Even with a remastered model, Kalas would be out of place both in the quality of his model AND the style of it.
I see what you’re saying- although that sort of begs the question why they didn’t just throw in Lora and Matthew from Torna and FR instead, because as you said same artstyle- not to mention they’re more recent of entries and are more relevant to the Xenoblade Klaus trilogy framing they went for
RIP Xenogears, Square will never let you go.
Hope Xenoblade X gets a DE and that directly leads to a sequel! 🙏🏽

As cool as it was to see all the Xeno stuff, I'm also a big Project X Zone fan, and I'm EXTRA happy about seeing Reiji and Xiaomu again.
