I absolutely appreciate the content on the Shot Marker system. I recently joined a range that uses this system. Thank you for putting out this content.

Thanks John! Just the info I needed. Just bought a shotmarker for myself. Mainly will be a 100 to 300 yard use so going to keep the frame as simple as possible.

John, currently your hub is mounted square to the firing line. If you turn it 90degrees it presents a much smaller cross section and won't degrade [omnidirectional] transmission. Less chance of it getting hit.

Great guideline John. That helped me build my frame.
    Thanks!

Could you protect the sensor Hub with a square of armor? or would the shock be enough to wreck it?

Yeah you could probably do that but it would add more space, weight and hassle for me so I don't bother.

What are the dimensions of your 100 yard target frame?
    Thanks.

Would hanging that on a solid backed target board have an affect on how the shot marker works? The club I shoot at has a target stand with a frame with a plywood center to hang targets. Would like to build a similar frame for the shot marker and hang it off the clubs target stand.

You don’t want to use plywood or any other hard backer. They recommend cardboard or plastic core backer. The sensors are acoustic and the bullet hitting a hard surface will cause them to not sense correctly.

What are the dimensions of the wood? Appear to be 1” x 4”

I forget but I think it's 1x4 like you said.

8" isn't that much, that's what she said
