LOVE THE VIDEOS. CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY THE MAN CAVE IS CALLED THE 3.0?
Playing those SF games on a PS1 controller is just a really painful experience. The Saturn versions of the games were better with the SS controller, the extra 1MB ram in the Saturn gave many more frames of animation, and the 4MB Japanese expansion cart for the later games just allowed a no compromise arcade perfect game. To top it all off, you have the PAL version with 17.5% slowdown and squished sprites. The PS1 of alpha 2 was so bad, that it couldn't do the introduction animation, so they made an FMV of it from the Saturn and copied it to the PS1 lol. I believe Street Fighter Alpha 3 on PS1 used polygons to mimmick as sprites, thus saving a lot of memory on animations, which makes it the best PS1 iteration of the 3 Alpha games. I won't hold a collector back for getting this and that, but i'll stick with my Sega Saturn Japanese games which run at full speed, full animation, with all the bells and whistles. SF Alpha 3 came out on Dreamcast, another console with an abysmal controller for fighting games lol. I have a SS controller adapter for the DC though. Good stuff Mr Ghetto...

Nah a lot of people (and professional players) prefer alpha 3 as alpha 2 is a bit broken and a bit cheap in places. Alpha (or Zero 3) is a thing of beauty on the Saturn.
I would send both of those back, unlucky but it’s part of the lottery risk. Great video as always! Love how the room is looking 🔥. I would probably go for the grail items on the ps1, but I’m a rpg boy, so Suikoden 1 & 2, Xenogears and Legend of Dragoon for me. ❤
Nice CeX lotto Callum. I know it's a rarity but you can sometimes get manuals with the w/o manual option and thanks to Wooly Weeble, Dunc, I was lucky enough to get pirates of darkwater on the mega drive with the manual at the w/o manual price in my last CeX lotto!
I know you're on the fence about Kirby and I feel you wanting to just be done with it but I'd personally take it back and wait for another one to come in stock.
While I can't be sure I also think that that Turrican 2 needs to go back, it doesn't look right to me and even if it is, the condition of it is terrible and I'd have been expecting that to be an unboxed grade.
Good wins on the Street fighters though and the collection when it comes out should be a must buy.
You need some pink paint to go over the pen marks, maybe a pink sharpie or nail paint 🤔 I think it would work.. maybe lol
I would keep the Kirby game. Make it look the best you can. Can replace it later on down the road if you find a decent one. One thing I have done with games with writing on it is place a coloured sticker on the box protector over the area that is the same colour as the box.
Such a tough one with that Kirby but I don’t think I’m ready for the saga to end and I hope you manage to find a cleaner copy in the future

I very much doubt any of the cex stores near me would take that kirby in as boxed to be honest.
Think Kirby is a keeper, bit of a tidy up and should display well from the front in a protector. Turrican has to go, damage possibly from a large sticker removal ? Sides look weird though

I’ve got 6th sense for fakes . As for Kirby ide keep it as place holder till better one comes . Box protector will hide imperfections anyway
Great vlog as usual, definitely take back Turrican 2. The Kirby game is harder I guess it comes down to how it looks in a box protector and does the pen mark bother you that much. I think I would keep it 👍🏼😊
Great video personally if once kirby is ironed and in a protector and looks good id keep it as you dont look on back alot its all about front artwork. The otherone however i think id take back purely because your concerns thats alot of money for something you are not happy with. Look forward to sundays video keep up the banging videos
I would either take back or sell on Turrican & Kirby. Or hang on to the latter one until a nicer condition one turns up and then sell it on. Otherwise some good titles there. I've had Street Fighter Collection on PS1 since I got it new (in 1998 I believe) and am looking for others as well but I do have a few of them on PS2 OG Xbox.
Not sure I’d be keeping that Kirby game. It’s pretty rough, I’m not a mint collector by any means but pen on the box. Torn manual and missing tab. Not great!
I'll clean it up on Sundays vlog then make a decision

Hi mate, Turrican 1 & 2 was released again by Strictly Limited Games but it does have there logo on it.
Would it surprise you that SFA2 was the pick of the bunch for me. Loved this back in the day. I also preferred it to SFA3 as well.
You’re not wrong though XMvSF is a belter on the Saturn, almost arcade perfect by all accounts. Lucky for you, you’ll get it on Switch :)

You should take the Kirby back. The cex I used to work at had a near mint mario 3 in box sold at unboxed price because it had some writing on the back of it
Good vid m8 as always shame about that last one although some early games did lose the design like that it was due to moisture but I would swap it out personally 😊
Dude awesome pickups with the cex lottery I’ll have to try and hunt down a copy of street fighter vs X-men or get it on the switch when I get one for Christmas 🎄 for my son 😂 but yeah I agree with others I would take super turucan 2 and Kirby back dude if you are spending that kind of money I would expect it to be as close to mint as possible 👍🏻
Good PS1 selection. I would not have got Alpha 2 as Alpha 2 Dash is on Street Fighter Collection 1 on the PS1 but if you need the complete set as a collector you are stuck. Looking at what's in stock in CEX, the games that interested me were the three Discworld games and for nostalgia Revolution X and Wing Commander 3 as I loved them growing up - even if Revolution X isn't a great game!

Nice picks with your cex megavoucher , good to see a couple of PlayStation street fighter games arrive towards the full set, zero 2 i know you will enjoy, what a great game series that is, a definite fave of mine.
Xmen vs sf again an absolute belter from capcom, i wouldn't say i ever load up the PlayStation version much as I tend to stick to the Japanese saturn version which is absolutely amazing , in fact I'm going to stick it on later along with sf zero 2.
I look forward to all the capcom packs coming out too but not remotely as much as for fatal fury city of the wolves, looking forward to hopefully hearing more info on it during the Tokyo game show later this month, that one has a layer of expectation amongst snk fans that's so good to see.

Some good picks, I think I would of done a similar thing, bought a few heavy hitters rather than one super heavy hitter. However I think I would take that Kirby game back, you’ve got one more chapter with that game and will get a better copy that you’re happier with, it will make a great video when you can complete the Kirby saga on a high

Shame about turrican 2 but some great additions in the street fighters and completing xmen 2. Pirates of dark water is my absolute grail would love that game one day.

As someones whos favourite fighting game is Third Strike, some tag team fighting games are great. MVC2 probably being my favourite of them, followed by MVC3 and Tekken Tag 2

if you rub a bit of hairspray, or isopropyl alcohol and a cotton bud really gently should get the pen out of the cardboard easily. Definitely patch test it first though, but biro is usually easily removed , just got to be careful

If I had hundreds of pounds in vouchers I'd pick up Legend of Dragoon on the PS1. A FF7 clone that came out at the end of the systems life cycle but it's a grail for collectors.
Return Turrican and Kirby , at somepoint ones you're happy with will turn up, they always do 👍

I know you said you don't collect neither Dreamcast or Saturn but if you are truly serious about the 2D fighters I would get rid of the 2D PAL fighters on PS1 and would go for their counterparts on japanese sega Saturn.
Believe me, nothing compares to them game wise. PAL PS1 are seriously downgraded version of these fantastic games.

for me id buy if i had 600 quid in cex vouchers most of the ps2 library that i could as im going for a full set at some point obviously some games will be grails (looking at you kuon and rule of rose)
but yeah oh and some n64 games and possibly another one of the crystal ones if cex had one
Don't let the haters fool you. X-men vs Street Fighter on ps1 is a lot of fun despite it's limitations. I had it from new and even though things were cut from it it still ran great. I loved it as a kid. Yeah i wouldn't really go back to it now since i own the Saturn port but it's still a solid fighter. It has to be said that when you get the MvC Fighting Collection you will see a dramatic difference between the versions. With the ram cart i was utterly blown away by how arcade perfect it was. If only PlayStation was given a ram expansion like the Saturn, we wouldn't of had these issues.
I will say the port of X-men Children of the Atom is Godawful. Unlike the other games it wasn't handled by Capcom themselves. It plays terrible.

Man, I had just over £700 of Cex vouchers back in 2017, traded my Gamecube collection and loads of Amiibos to them, I bought an Xbox One S Gears of War edition console and a few newer games but I ended running out of ideas of what to buy. In hindsight I regretted that decision ever since and slowly building up a GameCube collection again. I wish I did what you’re doing and picked up some retro big hitters instead of going for newer stuff but that’s neither here or there now so I’ll continue try to not dwell on it too much 😅

I've just trade in some of my xbox 360 games into cex and got £1400 in vouchers but at the minute that been spent on 2 ps5 console and 2 sony portal,

Bit of a disgrace on the prices CEX get away with charging on some cardboard that is battered, torn and penned. Still I'd probably say keep Kirby until you can find a condition upgrade. It'll keep its value so you'll have no issues recouping the costs should you need to get rid of it later. Turrican box looks a little suspicious but I'm no expert.

The box is the art, the box is on display... I personally value the 2 pieces completely differently. Logically I agree.. hard to justify the price of a piece of cardboard, but collectors don't often collect on logic but passion
