This is hip hop, if you have something to say you're going to say it. Freestyling reflects on you as a person and an artist because it draws on your mindset and previous knowledge, many rappers have said meaningful things in their freestyles because it's stuff they actually care about.

I love how it builds to the point where his lyrics flow. It is so nice to see how much Logic and the rest of the guys are enjoying the music. THIS is what it should always be about, not bling, not cars, not fat asses. REAL talent, honest rhymes and sick beats.
Oh god. you people keep saying "he's so repetitive" "there's no content", keep in mind he's ACTUALLY FREESTYLING.... for 8 PLUS MINUTES. Of course there are gonna be filler words that will be repeated like "got damn" and "check it" etc.. I would also like to let you know, most of your favorite rappers prepare for freestyle challenges, prewritten. So its hard to compare the two when one had an unfair advantage. In the beginning he said he was having fun, it's not as serious as you guys make it out to be. So he was having fun with it. However he was very consistent and fluid. When he was about to slip up on his words he caught himself everytime and brought it right back, when most rappers would just be like "Ah! damn." flash an embarrassed smile, and then just give up. Most of your faves would be done at 2 min. Give the man his props cuz he def deserves it.

Mad respect. He kept cycling back a lot of the same words and phrases, but he gets waaaaayyyy more respect from me than any of these dudes at 99 percent of the "freestyles" or "rap battles" these days that whip out a phone and read something off of it or regurgitate some memorized lines.
THIS is the art style of freestyle. Off the dome, not memorized. Words strung together sometimes for the first time ever in a split second, stream of consciousness.

Yeah he repeated some lines like "Goddamn" (even though that's his punch-line in a lot of his songs so I wouldn't count it) or "bring it back" but he's just using them as fillers so he can have time to think of more bars to spit as he's rapping. The fact that he was spitting fire from the dome for nearly 9 minutes straight is an amazing feat that many are ignoring. He's one of the best freestylers of this era hands down.

at least it ain't complete filler. That's what the radio sounds to me for the most part. Most songs are interchangeable, I can't tell the difference. All I hear from the radio and many people's headphones is that clicking sound "trrr" ten times per second. Nothing but filler lyrics. In my opinion Hip Hop is either good lyrics or a good beat, which i feel is very rare in the radio. Only recently has it been starting to improve with Logic and Chance and many others starting to get more radio play. Hell at least he rhymes in this freestyle.
