I don't think anything hurts more in a nuzlocke than finally reaching some kind of milestone with one of your faves (evolving them, getting their best move, -renaming them becuase you hit the wrong button when you caught it- , etc) and having them get oneshot immediately due to some stupid simple oversight.
Yep. I forget which game it was but I was near the end of a Nuzlocke and my Tyranitar died to a Sneazel on my way to the elite four because I was just kinda on auto and forgot they had low kick. Pretty awkward timing.

gengar losing levitate turned it from an okay pokemon into a local bin dweller yes its got a lot of offensive pressure but it was never going to survive against anyone with semi decent special defense
I was focusing on Calli, Kiara, IRyS and Gura at first, but Gura didn't play past the 3rd gym, and IRyS didn't play past the 5th, so I changed to Mumei and Ina who did play till the very end.
