I thought that having 1000+ hours in EU4 is enough to understand this game in matter of few hours... I was very wrong so thank you for this awesome guide.
I was similar except 1k+ was in ck2 and only about 500 in eu4 and another that in hoi4... still, Imperator reminded me not to underestimate Paradox strategies.
hi danis, i just bought the game with version 1.4 and the greek dlc. now im trying to learn this game hard. i hope your tutorial will help me get started. thanks a lot for these i'll be going through them one by one now and hopefully the later vids in this series go into 1.4. i'll be watching your lets plays after to learn even more!
Hi Dan, find these guides are invaluable. there is a gap on youtube for really good guides. I like going into the detail so I appreciated the effort you have gone to. I know you have done a few tips / lists videos. I think you could get loads more views on shorter videos as there is so much to digest. Keep up the good work. been a sub for months now :)
Hey Holden, how are you doing? Hope you are well in these strange and uncertain times. Thanks for the praise and support, it means a lot. I should have a small guide the Archimedes up this weekend (wanted to sink some hours into to be able to give you guys a decent guide), and in the near future will make a few more guides on the topics I have not yet covered. Thanks again Holden and take care :)
Thank you for this Cicero patch series! I played through the ingame tutorial halfway through and now after finding this series I feel like it's easier to understand and apply what you show. Thanks again.
Had I not had the curiosity to browse for your other vids, I'd never have guessed you were a fellow french speaker, your english is perfect ! And the quality of this tutorial series... no way this subscribe button can stay red ;-)
Excellent guide! I very much appreciate the effort you put into making this informative guide. As a new player, I find this very helpful. I didn't know any of this about cities and technology speed. It'll help me destroy Rome.
thanks for the vid. this explains a lot and it made sense. new player here and well I'm in over my head. I liked the pre Cicero patch because it was simple. however I see how players who get the mechanics think the game is dumbed down. the insta click gratification of mana sucked but kept things simple and easy. looking forward to learning how this game plays. thanks again for this video
Hi Manuel, sorry for the late reply, been a bit busy of late. It can be used for the moment at least with 1.5.3, most of the info is still relevant. However 2.0 will be released in about a week, so lots will change. I plan on updating the guides when 2.0 drops 😊
@DanIsStoned Is having more than one city bad? I'm playing as Caledonia and the mission tree gives me a city in a province that isn't where I wanted one and then later down the mission tree it gives another city in my capital settlement and in the same province e it makes you build another so that's two cities in two provinces it forces you to have for the mission tree. Just noticed a new mission or one I never noticed before telling me to build 3 cities in Taexalia, it's not necessary but I like trying to get the bonuses from completing the mission tree but in your playthrough you advised on having one per province, should I just stick to one city or is building more ok?
Hi Mike. That really depends, first of all, can you province maintain another city food-wise or not? Cities eat a fair bit of food so make sure the province is productive enough to support it. Now civilized nations tend to be able to maintain more cities since they don't have tribals and tend to have a decent amount of slaves that produce food. As a barbarian nation, I would recommend having the one city per province because first of all food will be an issue will al those tribals. Secondly, because you want to pull those tribals to the province capital with the centralize pops policy which works better if you have one city as the province capital. Now regarding the mission trees, I find it annoying because they ask you to build a city in less desirable locations. It would be better if it was to build a new city anywhere in a certain province, allowing you to choose the best location. Now if you want the bonuses, go ahead build them, you can always delete the city once the mission is done and still keep the bonuses gained. My personal preference though remains one city per province, maybe two, but only if I have the food to support them. Hope it helped and good luck :)
Thank you so much. Now I feel I can actually start to get a handle on the management of a country instead of just sitting and spitting my toenails at the Monitor.
No it did not Malaclypse, you must have a bug 😐. Did you try re-installing the game? If you did go into the game properties in steam and make sure it is up to date. If you did all that and it is still not working I'm afraid I cannot help you, so try posting your issue on Reddit, maybe someone will know what the problem is. Anyway good luck man, hope you figure it out.
@@danisstoned5025 I figured it out. I had previously rolled back to an earlier version and updating from there didnt work properly i think. Going back to 1.3.2 and validating files did it.
Thank you for this, I just installed the game and was completely at loss. Literally like 99% of the content in this videos doesn't explained anywhere with their in game tutorial makes you wonder what a shitty tutorial this game has.
Is your playlist still functional to the newest patch? I just bought the game and I am having a problem with a economy and so on :) So i wanna watch your playlist if its still functional :)
Most of it is still relevant, the economy one definitely. I plan on updating the series when the Marius update is released since it promises to fundamentally change quite a few aspects of the game.
did migration attraction get taken out with any newer update? cause i'm not seeing the migration attraction information anymore as the video describes. rather theres a guys face seen now.
Hi Giannis, Do you mean integrate smaller vassal kingdoms? If so, you open the diplomacy screen with the nation you want to integrate, and under the influence section (if i am not mistaken) you should have an option to start integration.
I still don't really understand what research points really means. Shouldn't it mean making tech cheaper? Also, shouldn't giving citizenship be a major, major issue ? Historically you had wars just for granting citizenship or not.
Research points are generated by citizens and to make things brief, research points determine the speed your tech bars for each tech family (civic, military, oratory, religious) fills up. The more points the faster the progress. I will do a video soon explaining in detail how research works. I can't explain it all in a comment, it would not do the mechanic justice.
Right, but doesn't it make sense than to not have the best research ration so you can pick up tech that's too expensive now that (had you good ratio) could have 'disappear' beneath upcoming tech :P I think they need to resolve the money = tech issue...I really like what Stellaris did (and that you choose 'pathways' of tech) and the importanc of the researcher than... For citizenships, I think it should really reflect the segregation that was in the Roman world (ie, really few, with most pops being freeman (equites rather) and plebs (instead of tribal)... Based on this perhaps PDX can make laws more important...
Jesus finally, a post Cicero patch that actually does its job as a guide. Bless your clan, Dan.
Your welcome Michael, I'm glad the video helped.

thanks. this is the first tutorial I found that was actually up to date.
No problem man, your welcome. Hope it helped :)
Thanks so much for this guide, I really needed a coherent explanation for the changes!
No problem Isaiah, your welcome.
This is probably the best video I have seen about this interesting game. Thank you

Thx Danis. Tried firing up Imperator today after a long hiatus and was a bit lost. Fantastic tutorial
No problem, glad it helped 😊. Hope you enjoyed the game with all the changes.
This is a really good guide . I still didn't enjoy the game itself but you did the best possible job in explaining it's obtuse mechanics.
Thanks gingerbill128 :)

Good to have a tutorial on Cicero. Coming from EU IV, HOI IV, and Stellaris, it can be a pain to get guides relevant to the current update.
Hi Brandon, thanks for the comment. I'm glad the video helped. Good luck conquering the ancient world 👍

Great video! One correction: the price of invention scales up with the amount of pops you have, notwith your monthly income.
Thanks dude :). Yes I know thanks for pointing that out, made a little mistake :)
did migration attraction get taken out with any newer update? cause i'm not seeing the migration attraction information anymore as the video describes. rather theres a guys face seen now.
Nope it's still there, they probably moved the info location (can't remember where off the top of my head). Will look tomorrow and let you know :)
How we intergrade smaller kingdoms who have really good relations. The option doesn t appear...

Is 2020 a good year?
Hopefully it will be, even if the start of 2020 has been pretty shitty with the outbreak and all. 2020 can only get better in my book :)
