- This song has got to be the pinnacle for all Mega-fans as well as guitar players in general, yet there seems to be lack of proper tutorials or play through which transcribes how Marty plays it in the studio recording. This is my attempt in bridging the gap and providing a note-by-note cover for this monstrosity of a song!! Cheers!
Probably the most accurate version I've seen on UA-cam. The tabs are much appreciated too.

@@riteshdroogie if only i could play that sweep part, lol. I know the solo note by note too, but i have not been able to overcome that particular hurdle. I’m still trying though! It would be good if you showed picking direction for the right hand too, maybe in the future videos ❤️

I have been playing for 5-6 months and i am at 0:40 (although i cannot play it with correct speed)

It seems that you are doing the 10th fret instead of 12 on the E string. Are you sure that the tab is correct here? It's too fast to hear it properly.
The truly horrifying thing is that by all accounts Marty was completely winging this solo, he improv'd it.
Also, the precision of your playing is absurd

If you're talking about 0:40 it's up down down up up down down up up down down, up down down up down down up down down up down down. Ik it's confusing but put that with the notes and you'll get it

really good but some parts are not accurate 100%, 1st section all bendings are all done from the out of scale 13th fret, 2nd section the bending at the 9th fret has no release (16th note puase) like you wrote it in the tab, but you played it with bend and release

the section around 0:45 seconds it looks like the tab has you pulling off to the 12th fret
but it looks like your hand is still anchored to the 10th fret? am i missing something or is the tab not matching up to what you're playing?

Damn! Even i failed to notice the error on the tabs. Thanks for pointing it out man. Yeah you anchor to the 10th fret all the way through. The tab mistakenly shows to pull off to the 12th fret. So sorry about that. Wish there was a way to fix that.

was doing some "research" (lol) before you got back to me and it sounds like maybe live Marty does the anchor at the 12 for that section sometimes
Was watching the Live in London '92 remaster video and it sounds/looks like Marty plays it very similar to the tab in your video! maybe that's where the tab got it's info from lol

Use economy picking. I struggled on that part to match the tempo as well. Back then i was practicing hard by picking every note on that section but to no results. My speed drastically increased after economy picking the notes. Try it.

You’re playing through everything just fine, but you should add some flavour to your notes, especially at the starting of the solo

Learning took like 2 weeks..but perfecting it to the best of my ability tooks months. Ya really gotta be patience with this one.

I know this solo inside out. You are perhaps one of the very few people who is not playing on Megadeth, since basically the 90s lol, that I saw that nailed that first bend correctly. The whole solo is perfect too!

How do you get that tone? I'm a noob when it comes to amp and amp settings, everytime i try to put on some gain and turn up the treble for a metal sound, my lowest E string is always too silent to the point it's very hard to pick up among other strings. Pls tell me ur setting if you're recording in something like fl studio or maybe in the amp itself
Hey man. Well you can try adjusting the pickup (bridge or neck) during the solo, which may help your issue. Regarding the tone for this video, i just used my G2.1 nu zoom preset. Now i use plugins which is much easier and more flexible for tone control.

hey, well done mate🤘...guess im late but do you have some tipps for the 10-14, 10-15, 10-16 part....i got the solo pretty well down to this point but the speed of that section is destroying me 😵
Well the key to that is workout your pinky first. Do some random runs, any runs to get that pinky up to speed and for the right hand try economy picking. Worked wonders for me.

Tab might be note by note but the interpretation is not even close... many things are missing: vibratos, slides, in one part you didn't even reach the proper speed of a scale patern... it's not bad, it's ok if you are still learning... it's just not what the title of the video promises.
Do you have a video of you so we can see how it is really done?
