      VERY well put man. The phrasing is what makes a guitar player memorable. Plus you have to have the shade and the light ya know? It can't be all "weedly, weedly". If this solo was all fast runs, then that last part wouldn't stand out as it does. This is a great solo, bar none.

      yes. and that's exactly why it's not that good. when i first heard this, the very first thing i've noticed is how flawless the other guy's soloing is
      then, when marty started playing, it's sloppy at times and even goes off-beat at times... but that's exactly why it's "better". it's just much much more soulful and it really sounds like a master on his own craft whereas the first one it really sounded like "a guitarist who memorised the solo"

    • @sirspongadoodle
      @sirspongadoodle 2 роки тому +100

      @@foreversuperficial271 i disagree, being clean isnt something that robs the "soul" from your playing why would it??, nobody can play "flawless" its the same reason why sloppy double tracks sound bad but clean double tracks sound amazing.. the reason he sounds worse is purely his vibrato..

      @@foreversuperficial271 I wholeheartedly disagree with that. Playing it cleanly with Marty standing literally right next to you is about as impressive as it can get. And I’m sorry but Marty sounded horrible playing it, and he didn’t even play the famous stretched part in the right position.

      @@sirspongadoodle i think what he meant is to sound robotic . as a drummer i agree with this statement , there is a reason why no one will replace and sound like dave lombardo former slayer drummer because the guy simply doesnt use triggers so his drumming sounds very chaotic and agressive while every other drummer sounds like a robot especially the base drums .so you can say the same for other instruments , sometimes not to try to be perfect just makes the whole thing sound better .

    Marty's impromptu performance was very enjoyable. At the end of the video, I subconsciously listened blindly and found that Martin's tremolo was different, distinguishing two playing styles. Marty's guitar notes revealed the mysterious charm of the East.

    He doesnt have that jazzy feel that Marty has. thats hesitant....yet sniper like phrasing , keeps you waiting a milisecond just enough for your heart to skip a beat in anticipation of the next note. A true guitar genius.

      @@TebiCr He's never been better than Marty or any lead guitarist for megadeth. He could have been if he devoted all his time to it but nobody can write almost every riff, lyric at the caliber Dave does and be a high level lead guitarist. Dave is a shredder which there's nothing wrong with but kiko, chris p, chris b and marty are so far ahead of him.

      @@nathanrudd2327 You are wrong, he was a great lead guitar player, many solos from Peace Sells were played by Dave, as well as in the album So Far So Good So what, and through out his whole career
      Just watch the early shows of Megadeth and see it yourself even in Rude Awakening he played a lot of solos and he played those.ñ much better than Al Pitrelli I could see there Dave was better than him and probably better than Marty
