I'm a firm believer in Murphy's Law. For this reason, I believe that safety should always be a priority. The notch is critical for safe felling. It controls the hinge. The size of the tree is always a consideration. Be safe. Got my fingers crossed that nothing serious ever happens under these circumstances. Love your videos and where you reside in Minnesota. Beautiful country!
Franky is absolutely right about the power going down with the battery level, 18v batteries actually deliver 21v when they’re fully charged, and the voltage can drop to 15v or less (However the circuitry of the battery pack can possibly regulate that a little, but not sure)
Nice. I wanted to comment but didn't want to come off as a jerk cause I like his channel soo much but I watch alot of tree falling videos and I have to say his notch was pretty bad. Not worse then not making one at all. Lol. Other then the fact he did one without a notch as I types this. The way he broke down the tree that he had already fell was kinda scary too. The way those buck sometimes is not good. Aall that said I still love the channel and I couldn't doo much better.
To be honest, cutting down a tree like this is almost completely against anything i ever learned, the notch was completely unprecise, and the final cut too. Also pushing down a tree with a skidloader, tractor or anything like that can gro wrong really fast, belive me, i learned it the hard way, too.
Your videos are always excellent. Lots of guys saying "I'll show you" well there are many ways to do everything. Professional videos all over about proper felling techniques. You seem to care about your employees. Which that being said a $50 DVD set on proper techniques could save some serious injuries or death. I'm as guilty as anyone with really taking risk lol thanks for all the information you have shared
Sorry, I've been cutting for almost 30 years and would never cut any trees like that! I would never allow someone to cut trees around me, that cuts like that for everyone's safety! I have 4 husqvarna saws due to reliability. But I also have $1000's invested into proper equipment to do tree job properly the 1st time! I've heard of many municipalities going to electric saws so they do not need to carry fuel with them but it's not something that I'll ever use
zeke112964 Without a notch cut the hinge doesn’t really work. When the tree starts going, the front cut will close in and break off the hinge wood making the hinge wood kind of worthless.
Even with an excavator still be careful working on a big pipe job in Illinois last year, we had a big 30-40 foot tall tree that had to get gone. We had a saw and cat 312 or 14 Idk but big enough machine and very experienced operator. Anyway long story short pushing straight into the tree it rolled off the bucket instead of landing In front of him in the yard it landed in to the right of him in the parking lot. About 2 foot away from touching a car.
Love you brother, side by each, are you from around here lol, side by side, funny side by each, I don't know people might say that, your just the only person on every vid that's says that lol, you do you brother I'm just picking , God bless
It went that way because he cut through his hinge on that far side. Forest cutting is completely different than urban cutting. On that first tree that is.
If u dont wanna climb...throw/sling shot rope up so u can pull is the fastest/safest/cheapest method imo..will drop exactly where u want ..if it's big tree and hard to tell angle its leaning..u can always climb up the rope and it's easy to tell how its leaning when up in tree..prof arborist with proper notch can do wonders
Normally really like your videos but absolutely should have had a tree company come and run the saws for this one. I own my own tree service and have been doing tree work for about 10 years and sorry to say but your guys don't know how to properly run saws.
MRSketch09 you do but this is the blind leading the blind. OSHA and ANSI both have clear guidelines on it for professionals. Both Stihl and Husqvarna have videos on UA-cam to help people get t Started.
Tell Frankie to wear chaps! It’ll save him from cutting himself accidentally, yes he may be experienced but he needs help on the notches & felling techniques. I’m not trying to sound like a tool but I am a certified Arborist with 12+ years of experience in large shade Treecare, pruning, crane assisted removals, plant health care, etc.
Your videos about pavers and dirt work are really informative, I’ve been cutting trees for a long time and this video is embarrassing. I have a husky arborist saw that is battery and it’s amazing, thing of the future. When your guy backs the skid loader up next to the garage about 2 feet away from a saw..... And that grapple, the beak? Everyone that has done a lot of trees can tell you that thing is a piece of crap. I love your other videos and I’ve learned a lot about landscaping from you, that’s why I don’t understand this
Was in the industry for a few years never ran a Dolmar, never saw anyone else use one. The only other saw I used was a Jonsered and I'm pretty sure that's a Husky in a red suit.
I know I got nervous watching this video. . . One of the basic things they tell you when felling a tree is have an escape route. B/c if something goes wrong, at least give yourself a chance to get out of there. Ol Frankie seems a bit aloof when cutting down the tree. (I feel sorry for the guy cutting his own finger off... how do you do that?) Honestly if the next tree, is as big as your talking about and in a situation as bad as your alluding to... might want to get a pro in there that can climb and bring it down piece by piece. I mean.. you don't want to crush your home or your fox housing.. Good luck whatever you do. A lot of weight and leverage in a big tree.
When someone is not very knowledgeable about something, someone else will seem really smart/knowledgeable/experienced to that other person. The blind leading the blind. Experience and skill/know-how don't always precede one another. Just because someone has experience from doing something many times, or for a long period of time, doesn't meant they developed skill/expertise along the way. Someone that knows a bit about a certain topic seems like a genius to someone who doesn't know much about the topic. My mother knows almost nothing about computers. So an average 20 year old seems like a computer genius to her.
I faintly remember we had a Dolmar way back in the 70's. Echo and Stihl are prevailent in San Antonio. Battery powered E Go is a cheaper brand, I'll need to lookup that Makita/Dolmar. Or might I propose I'll send you a half used E Go Battery Chainsaw and you send me a Makita.
Hassle68 used to be dolmar/Sachs tough saw but even tougher to get a part to fix it. I have husqvarna and stihl saws. And nobody pays me to say they’re good!!!
As a timber cutter I like the fact that you are using PPE however I am cringing at the fact that the saw operator (whoever uses a saw on site) is not wearing proper chaps! Chain breaks can kick your ass and one mistake can result in two stumps, one of which will be bloody. Safety is key
STIHL all the way. IF PIONEER was still around, it also would be my choice. I HAD a 1200 A PIONEER that was a sweet unit. STIHL is the only brand that I will use. Oh, with earphones in, I could hear the MAKITA/DOLMAR losing power as Frankie was using it.
Pushing a tree over with a mechanical device could cause the tree to barber chair since you do not know how much force is being applied. Especially before the back cut is complete
Franky is still a cool guy even if the trolls don't like him. I can't read a tape measure without 1/8 markings. Does that make me bad at everything else I've ever done? of course not. All you in the comments why don't you make videos on how to use a chainsaw since you're so concerned about our safety.
This video would have been sooo much better if a tree company a legitimate one came out and did this , the only reason they didn’t die was all the trees were leaning the way they wanted it to love the videos but this one phhht
Theres a reason why professional sawyers need certification , ive been c unlimited certified for years and iam just picking this guy’s technique apart i could have made that tree fall wherever you wanted it to no equipment necessary
Landscrapers dont have any business doing tree work and franky is definitely not a tree guy by any stretch of the imagination he has the saw skills of a homeowner i think its pretty irresponsible to be labeling this video as educational and that bobcat attachment is probably the worst attachment for doing tree work as far as bobcat attachmets for moving tree material this is comparable to cutting a tree down with a hand saw vs chainsaw and when ur pushing trees with bobcat raising the boom up as high as it can go is dumb rookie operator error u should put the boom about half way up so 1 u have lower center of gravity =more traction and 2 when u are pushing once the wheels start spinning u can raise the boom putting down pressure on tires giving it more traction so thanks for showing everybody how to put themselves in a unsafe situation in the exchange of getting more free stuff from makitia i hope ur profits were worth potentially putting people in danger by use of false and untrained information
Ken Phillips As a landscaper I do have to say we are not all this stupid while felling a tree. How ever, in most situations it is better to have a professional arborist.
Stihl chainsaws with out the fancy bells and whistles. Those always ruin a saw I don't care what brand you run all the new things that are added these days are uneeded
I like the "beak" on the bobcat, I may just have to make me one of them! But watching him run that saw was just PAINFUL!!!
I'm a firm believer in Murphy's Law. For this reason, I believe that safety should always be a priority. The notch is critical for safe felling. It controls the hinge. Buckin’ Billy Ray is the king of tree cutting on UA-cam
Brian Sierzega I was thinking buckin should be there.
Jim H Never heard of Murphy's tree service. Buckin has some great stuff on his channel.
Franky is absolutely right about the power going down with the battery level, 18v batteries actually deliver 21v when they’re fully charged, and the voltage can drop to 15v or less
(However the circuitry of the battery pack can possibly regulate that a little, but not sure)
I like watching your channel because you're usually very informative and kinda flashy. Overall, I'd say you're a good showman and that goes a long way
Thanks Steve
I like the idea of a battery powered saw for homeowners. I need one because iam currently using a saws all.
he might like running a saw but he is armature at best. sorry just need to be honest.
Agreed.
Hurts to watch. So much respect for Stanley and what he's got going on but i was cringing for sure.
This was awful and I really like his videos. This is why tree guys hate landscape companies. I know, I own a tree service.
Karhu Tree Service I agree with u, I like this channel alot but Franky has no clue what he is doing with that saw. Disaster waiting to happen.
Richard Blowers What's an armature?
Nice. I wanted to comment but didn't want to come off as a jerk cause I like his channel soo much but I watch alot of tree falling videos and I have to say his notch was pretty bad. Not worse then not making one at all. Lol. Other then the fact he did one without a notch as I types this.

Stanley, a skid steer grapple rake works well for brush and limb removal also.
To be honest, cutting down a tree like this is almost completely against anything i ever learned, the notch was completely unprecise, and the final cut too. “THE BEAK” what a beast! I love the Eye ball!
Sorry, I've been cutting for almost 30 years and would never cut any trees like that! I would never allow someone to cut trees around me, that cuts like that for everyone's safety! Direction of the fall is controlled more by the hinge rather than the notch
zeke112964, the hinge is influenced by the notch though.
zeke112964
Without a notch cut the hinge doesn’t really work.

Franky you need to go watch Logger Wade !
Every logger uses Stihl or Husqvarna
Jim Dasher, yeah, my uncle only has stihl, and will never have to buy any more.
You keep making them, I'll keep watching them 👍
Nice saw, Keep up the good work man.
Thank you Brian !
"Do you think we know what we're doing" 😂😂
Love you brother, side by each, are you from around here lol, side by side, funny side by each, I don't know people might say that, your just the only person on every vid that's says that lol, you do you brother I'm just picking , God bless

Cool attachment on your skid steer!
I love makita- dolmar saws dolmar has been a great under rated name for years
If u dont wanna climb...throw/sling shot rope up so u can pull is the fastest/safest/cheapest method imo..will drop exactly where u want ..if it's big tree and hard to tell angle its leaning..u can always climb up the rope and it's easy to tell how its leaning when up in tree..prof arborist with proper notch can do wonders
Thanks for the tip!
I have your shirt. Love Brian's Lawn Maintenance
i dont think frankie knows exactly how to use those saws
We watch because we know you don’t know what you are doing cutting trees!
woodpeckerarborist so true
Smh. Speechless.
Normally really like your videos but absolutely should have had a tree company come and run the saws for this one. I own my own tree service and have been doing tree work for about 10 years and sorry to say but your guys don't know how to properly run saws.
You gotta get practice in some how right? I mean no one is just "Instantly good" at operating a chainsaw.
MRSketch09 you do but this is the blind leading the blind. OSHA and ANSI both have clear guidelines on it for professionals. Both Stihl and Husqvarna have videos on UA-cam to help people get t
Started.
Very true on Stihl and Husqvarna videos.
It's all about the cut, can't over power the hinge with the skid by pushing. Glad you guys didn't smash anything
Tell Frankie to wear chaps! It’ll save him from cutting himself accidentally, yes he may be experienced but he needs help on the notches & felling techniques. Use the right side of the bar the saws gonna cut faster and easier. Use the dogs they have them for a reason.
we got 2 brand new dolmars last year. takes 30 plus pulls to get it going
Just because I cooked forever doesn't mean I'm great at cooking
Husqvarna or Stihl. That's it.
and if you exclude dolmar from that list you clearly arent in the industry
Was in the industry for a few years never ran a Dolmar, never saw anyone else use one. The only other saw I used was a Jonsered and I'm pretty sure that's a Husky in a red suit.
the US forest service firefighters use almost exclusively dolmar
Haha well that explains a lot!
Dolmar is almost non existent in the industry.
scary to think that people are gonna watch the next video on what not to do when franky doesn't even know what he is doing
Why would you give the tree a chance to fall on something? Why not start higher, cut off limbs, and cut the trunk off in pieces?
Btw don’t cut with the top side of the tip. That’s how it kicks.
Franky has gotten pretty lucky on falling trees in the open forest don't leave any back strap for the hinge part. Ok Franky just sucks
no chaps??
When a tree is leaning usually you place the notch opposite of the lean and give a push or pull .
Can you do more job site walk arounds and explaining what your task is!
Dolmar is the top of chainsaws? Uhhhh?
Dolmar is very good brand
I know I got nervous watching this video. . . One of the basic things they tell you when felling a tree is have an escape route. Depends on on the cut not the luck , EASY DOZ IT TREE SERVICE , EST 1999. BRYAN TX .
I cringed a lot during this video. Frankie needs a chainsaw safety course asap
Oh my god Frankie. You're wild man.
Can’t beat a sthil saw I own to and they have never let me down
Franky is Awesome!
Title for video should be - How to fell trees in the most dangerous way

Awesome.video stan
You folks should not citing there's down. This is not the way we do things. The test from the Saws are nice. Adrian
I'm polish and that is the most Pollack chainsaw notch I have ever seen
Dolmar is good, but not the top
Dolmar never even heard of them ... stihl or jonsred about the only names
Hassle68 used to be dolmar/Sachs tough saw but even tougher to get a part to fix it. I have husqvarna and stihl saws. And nobody pays me to say they’re good!!!
husqvarna was the other name I was trying to think of. But you have your own American brands that never make it world wide.
Hassle68 husqvarna is Swedish. Dolmar is/was German
As a timber cutter I like the fact that you are using PPE however I am cringing at the fact that the saw operator (whoever uses a saw on site) is not wearing proper chaps! Chain breaks can kick your ass and one mistake can result in two stumps, one of which will be bloody. Safety is key

Within a month every other channel will have makita vids.
How do I obtain more lawn mowing and mulch clients if all they see me is as a inexperienced teen???
Josh Pinkley Take before and after pictures of your completed jobs and show that to potential clients.
Mike Watt thanks!
Hinge wood on left tree go left
It is going to be funny when you get all of your chain saws stuck in a tree at the same time.
Pushing a tree over with a mechanical device could cause the tree to barber chair since you do not know how much force is being applied. Especially before the back cut is complete
I'm a stihl guy but i do run a few echos
Franky is still a cool guy even if the trolls don't like him. I can't read a tape measure without 1/8 markings. Does that make me bad at everything else I've ever done? of course not. I'll just be honest.....that was not professional tree felling at all. Go get some training before you get really hurt or just stick to landscaping.
I think Franky needs to get his eyes checked out at a optometrist and maybe get new glasses and does your company have vision for the health benefits
I guess you never heard of trimming branches off so it doesn't hit anything on your land but what do l know...!!!!
Great video... love your humor and down-to-earth practicality. Fun and informative at the same time.
Husky and Milwaukee m18
Those things are SHIT😂💀 good video tho I love your channel lol
Get a professional Stihl saw if you want quality.
Wow
Great video Stan! I love the editing and quality content that you've been providing!
Aye o I love your vids
Why would you not push from the driveway side over kill is always best to me
Stihl & Husqvarna
I've owned stihl, husqvarna, echo then I bought a dohlmar and that's all I've ever bought since!
One finger Frankie would of needed some kind of steel gloves or mail ware that shark feeders use to not cut fingers off.
Be careful running those saws they cant tell the difference between wood flesh or bone
Not to mention the fact that he doesn’t put in under cuts that guy is gonna die when a tree slides back on the stump and crushes him
Landscrapers dont have any business doing tree work and franky is definitely not a tree guy by any stretch of the imagination he has the saw skills of a homeowner i think its pretty irresponsible to be labeling this video as educational and that bobcat attachment is probably the worst attachment for doing tree work as far as bobcat attachmets for moving tree material this is comparable to cutting a tree down with a hand saw vs chainsaw and when ur pushing trees with bobcat raising the boom up as high as it can go is dumb rookie operator error u should put the boom about half way up so 1 u have lower center of gravity =more traction and 2 when u are pushing once the wheels start spinning u can raise the boom putting down pressure on tires giving it more traction so thanks for showing everybody how to put themselves in a unsafe situation in the exchange of getting more free stuff from makitia i hope ur profits were worth potentially putting people in danger by use of false and untrained information
Ken Phillips As a landscaper I do have to say we are not all this stupid while felling a tree. How ever, in most situations it is better to have a professional arborist.
Husqvarna is the top saw
How about a 7-11 ¿¿¿¿
should of cut the limbs off first. so much simpler and less risk of damging stuff if you let the weight of the limb do the work
Human would not be happy with this one
Collin Burckle human is the best arborist on
UA-cam and yes he would say dam humans!
He every has one split and kick back on him he will if he lives thru it
Hi
Dolmar...??? WHAT IS A Dolmar.?? Stil,Johnsrud And The Rest Don't Matter...
Stihl chainsaws with out the fancy bells and whistles. Those always ruin a saw I don't care what brand you run all the new things that are added these days are uneeded
You noched on the wrong side of the tree tree
Finkle is einhorn einhorn is finkle
Anything that Runs on GAS "NO ELECTRIC"
Stihl Farm Boss
since he cut off 1 finger and still has 9 remaining......
wouldn't his name be "9-finger Franky"??????
HA
