The Most dangerous Tree job I've seen. 4k video

- This cotton wood split around a High voltage power. We had to shut down the road and bring in a crane because a large portion of the tree hung directly over a house. Nothing easy about this job-so its perfect for a UA-cam video! You'll get birds eye view in the tree, on the clam trunk, and hanging from the crane.

I am 57 and about 3 years ago I started climbing I bought a cheaper saddle and then bought the tree motion like he was wearing it is so comfortable. You can sit in it, roll side to side and even hang upside down. I am slowly getting most of the stuff I need to do removals but I just like to climb my tree's prune them when needed I climb single rope mostly to get up in the canopy. It is as easy as climbing a ladder. I do removals for friends they to the clean up. I live in Western MA. so it is mostly hard woods. Some conifers. I am to old and beat up to start a business I have a severe back condition. But my back doesn't bother me with that saddle and hanging from a rope. You can do anything with a rope except push something!! Great video Stan!!
Thanks Ted and thanks for the comments!
FINALLY! I've been preaching it for a while but learn from a certified arborist! Textbook perfect removal, every member of that crew knew exactly what was going on at all times. Chainsaw pants, Helmets, sena Bluetooth headsets, Protree knows what's up! Also, another guy I'd tell you to interview is Dave with topnotch attachments (Made in Minnesota to) super smart guy that was the first certified arborist in the state of Minnesota back in the '90s, he's doing pretty dam well with his attachments selling like hotcakes!
Thanks for watching and for the suggestion James!
Heck yeah I want to see more of this stuff. This isn't a job, it's an art form.
Thanks for the input!
Yes , its def an art form, and very very dangerous. Along with landscaping my company provides tree service. I don't have their machinery lol ( some days wish i did) but i climb , have been for a long time, and i always say with first hand experience, arboriculture is 50% big balls and 50% calculated physics 😁
The Maintenance Channel agreed.
Every step is perfectly calculated. It's a job I'd never want but it sure is a work of art and I have mad respect for those that can handle it.
I skip many of your vids that come into my feed, enjoyed this one.
Pretty sure everyone want to hear what he has to say about starting a tree service. I think there is much to learn from others as far as starting a new business, I enjoyed hearing that Notch started as a tree service and moved into the equipment business.
Great job guys.
Thanks Brett, glad you enjoyed it
Nice video. Good to see stan letting them explain things fully without butting in half way through there explanation.
Pucker factor of 6 at most. The tree was alive, there were safe tie-ins, that was a house drop not a primary, and it was reachable with a crane. Change all those variables and you have a 10. Great video though. Appreciate your arborist videos as I mentioned to you at GIE 2018. Keep them coming. Clogger zeros are amazing pants. I have had mine for a year and a half with hardly any wear.
Thanks for the feedback and for watching!
I havent gotten into crane removals yet, but the first business I'm starting is a tree service. I'm a trained climber/feller and this is impressive job well done. Jealous of the equipment set up. Keep the videos coming I learn alot from them as I expand my services.
A winner!🏅 I would watch more about this company and their jobs. One important benefit is it helps you tell if you are talking to a pro or a lightweight.
Thanks William !
When it comes to this trade Stan, the more interesting questions and angle you should approach is the tradesman. Roping and rigging a big tree job is a 30 part video in of itself. Who cares about the pants? I know a gear focused channel like this i get it.
Great video. It's one of the few I've watched on youtube that didn't make me cringe when I see someone doing dangerous activities at a tree job. Those guys are real pros. I own a tree service myself. We have our own grove crane, grapple truck, chippers, bucket truck, mini skid, dump truck, etc. Folks don't realize how expensive all that equipment is to really operate efficiently. It's not hard to end up with $300K worth of equipment at a job site.
Very true!! Thanks for the feedback, blessings to you & your tree service
Huge cottonwood tree Powerline bad combination.
That was so impressive the way they took that thing apart.
Thanks for watching Phillip!
@@Dirtmonkey ever since the day I discovered your videos I have been addicted
Definitely want to see more tree videos
More vids to come, thanks Justin!
Just starting my business this year, land development a d tree service, I'll take all the pointers you want to give. I've learned soooooo much watching your videos. Thank you Stanley for your channel a d all your wisdom. God Bless you
Thank you Taylon, I am happy to hear you've learned something and hope you have a great first year in your business!!
Astonishing skill needed to run such complex equipment expertly and safely.Nice videograpghy.
Guy that riding the ball like Brittany Spears. Has balls the size of basketballs 😁
This is a great video! I definitely like hearing about the equipment that's being used, both by the climbers and the heavy equipment used on the job. It's informative and entertaining.
People would ask me why my boots had high heels. It's so my hooks don't fall off lol. They'd look at me funny and I'd say my gaffs. Still no response 😂. Then I'd explain how I climbed poles to build power lines lol.
Lol, thanks for the comments Robert!
Stan you probably heard about the winter storm that hit Manitoba that power company lineman from Minnesota came to help restore power and trees are still being removed from snow ice damage
Quality isn't cheap! First-class work for sure.
Great video I would love to know more about the truck. and Yes more how to get started!!!
Thanks Max!
Really nice work and looks to be a solid crew! And the equipment is also top notch. Would be a dream to work with a crane for me. Nice video
Really appreciate that, thank you !!
@@Dirtmonkey tree service good. Stan is a tool
This just showed up in my recommended for you list, I hope I'm not too late to add my desire to see more about how these guys got started!
Not at all Dwayne, thanks for the input and thanks for being here!
Awsome video Stan, love to hear more about this work👌
Thanks Greg!
Wow after a Google search, I didn't know there was so many companies making affordable chainsaw pants. Thanks lol.
Yes I would super appreciate more tree removal videos and listening to how he started his business would be very cool.
Cool, thanks for the feedback Julian!
Looks like a nice national crane, 45 ton I think? I enjoy tree jobs like this, makes you figure out a good plan to remove it with no issues. Not sure if it’s the most dangerous I’ve seen though
ShortyzProductionz this was a pretty standard removal, even with the wires. And yes, that is a 45 ton crane.
Great video. Looking forward to more input on starting tree service!
Thanks David, more to come!
Great video I loved it keep up all the hard work your doing
Hey thanks a lot, appreciate it!
Very entertaining, thanks Stan. I really enjoy all your videos.
Thanks David, glad to have you here watching!
Heck yeah!!! It's awesome to hear about how to get into any kind of business.
yes would love to see more. And how to get started..... thanks for the video
Good video, always interesting to see how things are done.
Thanks Stan, for another enjoyable video !
Thanks James, glad that you liked it!
Enjoying your videos everyday!
Happy to hear that, thanks Andrew!
That is one hell of a set up - would be awesome to see more.
Thanks for viewing!
would love to see more tree stuff
Thanks !
dj10040582 that’s what my channel is all about, not with crane but actually climbing. Check it out!
Awesome video! Would love to hear about the tree business!
Thanks Nate!
Awesome episode, looking forward to more seeing more on the tree service industry. Maybe even interview a logging company!! Very interesting.👍
Thank you Cam!
Yes for tree business video.
Thank you!
Great video. Thanks for sharing!
No problem Travis, thank YOU for watching!
Yes! Defiantly more on starting a tree company please!!
Gotcha! Thanks for letting me know
For sure more of these vids and his background and how to get get started
Stan , Great video
Thanks Ronald!
Nice crane , beautiful new grapple loader very pretty equipment !
Thank you for viewing !
More Tree Stuff, cant get enough
Awesome, thanks !!
I would love to learn more about getting started in tree work
Thanks Isaac!
Great video as usual!
Thank you Paul!
Looks like a bunch of skilled operator here. From climbing wind turbine tower I can see they have a good system down. And yes. You never want to bounce a crane things go really wrong if you do.
Hell yeh get that video up man, I want to see the proper procedures for a tree company
Cool, thank you !
Great video and yes I want know the ins and out of starting a tree service
Thanks Matthew!
That’s going to be an expensive tree to take down
Yep. Prolly $ 3800 - $ 6000 just depends on the company
Hard hats off to that crew. Well done and done well!
Thanks for watching Jim !
Thank you stan for the consistent videos! How can i get a hold of you for some advice. I will pay you for your time as well. Thank you for the amazing content
great video , about the V cut .. over the years or traditional cuts , arborist of all skill level would just cut through the pieace that was being lifted out with a Crain . the miss fortune of many was the load would , slide and twist do to the weight of the load and the straps streching even a few inches , could cause serious injury. Know from experience. often guys wold use chain but its heavy , cumbersome . so a few guys figured out that the V cut was more safe regardless of movement when being hoisted.. as the videos shows there was some twisting but the arborist was in no immediate threat ..
I observe that steep V increases the total cutting distances to 1.40 times total straight cuts. I suppose some moderate angle works too.
I have nothing to do with tree service but thoroughly enjoyed your video.
I really appreciate that JR, thanks !
Yes how to start vid!
Thanks Joan!
Great work.
Thanks Shane!
Nice video
Climbing is hard as hell
Enjoy watching your channel
We use clogger pants stops the saw in less than a second
Thanks for being here Brad!
Yes I would definitely like to here more!!! Thanks
More to come, thank you !
I saw a Pro-Tree shirt at Tree Care Industry Expo last week. They are pros for sure
That’s wasent an easy tree to remove. Great video Stan.
Appreciate that Scott, thank you !
Y’all are surgical with that equipment 🤘🏻
Seriously man. It was beautiful
I do the same thing every day. They’re good at what they do.
Yeah They fr fr call them tree surgeons . i believe the name originated in the uk
Great video god bless
Thanks Peggy, you too!
Great video.
What did he charge for this removal? How does he get rid of the brush and wood , burn it ,chip it off the job site?
Sweet video Stan it was awesome ! Great camera work the guy riding the crane ball has got nerves of steel. There a guy in Jacksonville Fl. that has a tree cutting truck with a grapple with a saw built on it can reach up to 100' are higher . It work with a remote control he can cut down trees by his shelf then his haul off truck comes and hauls off tree .There is only 4 or 5 in the US it cost around 400,000.are more. just seen it on the news it look cool. Keep the cool videos coming.
Cool, thanks for watching!
Tree services are a dime a dozen in the twin cities. Stan used one of the top five contractors. Was that crane subbed out? Nice vid.
Yes you add 5 guys 150 a day min.
Equipment 2,000 at least
Insurance at least 1 million or 2
You have to make a profit
@@oscarferman6712 if you can find the work you can make a lot of money from tree service work . my brother in-law haves a small tree service business and he works for a big tree company and he is a boss for that big tree service company he probably makes like $70-$80k a year plus good health insurance from the big tree service company and he makes even more money from his small tree service company he owns... when i work for him he pays me like $150 to $200 a day it really hard work though.. but you can make really good money from tree service work here upstate NY
Hah! U come to Stan's house u getting on UA-cam!
Moreee treeee
Yes make that video!
Thanks Brandon!
To me that was a scary job. I dont like cotton woods, the draw lighting in a storm and being a soft wood the they split easy in windy conditions. Be safe. Peace.
Thanks for the comments Dan!
Dan May cotton wood is in the Category of a hardwood just a softer hardwood
Yes!!🙏🙏 please show us
Thanks for watching Oswaldo!
great video. I'm also waiting for a tree removal company to come and cut down a large (about 13 meters tall) walnut so it will be nice to see if they do anything different.
Thanks John , hope it goes well for you !
more please
Gotcha 👍
Great video! I would think chipping would be good to cut down on the volume. I like tree work but each tree is different and can be deadly if u dont know what your doing or have the right equipment.
Thank you Eric!
I own a tree service and want to see Wes's story. I'm always curious about how the other guys do it and where they came from.
Coo, thanks!
more tree videos would be great!
Thanks Noah!
Why don't they run a chipper? Do they just haul that to a compost/recycling center?
Some municipalities have free dumping for brush at composts and such, usually as far as chips go unless you dump at a bigger landscape supply operation you have to pay a fee.
This is what I do everyday brother
Yes I want to see it am starting a tree business
Cool, thank you !
Lot of work and play toys getting the job done 👍
For sure Brian, thanks for watching!
Was that Udo Dirkscheidner riding the hook?
You should have had Frankie take that thing down Stan! And he’s already on the pay roll!!
What do they do with all of the brush if they are not chipping it? Do they take it to a tub grinder?
Brian Kirwan probably to a landfill, the landfill then process as mulch.
I do this as my business but I still have a regular job also.
Thanks for watching!
Funny. Me too.
Me three!
I’d love to learn more from his point of view.
Agreed.
Road restrictions in MN, what months? Is it a winter restriction on commercial vehicles? Is it weight related? I lived in ND for a bit, but didn't do any commercial driving, so this is new to me. Thank you!
Dwayne Madsen it’s in the spring we have weight based restrictions on side roads
What is road restriction and what is it for
that big truck is a good idea and yes it saves energy but try using one in the uk it would be impossible but love that idea
Euro pussies
Yes
Thanks Derek!
I run small tree company with my UA-cam channel showing some of our and followers over 22k now, I’ll be interested in hearing his story on how he got started and tips and tricks to his success.
I know how you feel I have a cotton wood by my house that needs to go, but its not on my property so I cant really do much about it. They are the worst tree ever messy the cotton fluff ruins summer I just hate them in general lol!
Sorry to hear that, thanks for watching!
ya i want to see how to get started
Cool, thanks for watching!
Would like to see how he started.
Thanks Ronald!
Haha
2:26 If I were doing this.....I’d want to be this guy right here. Looks like a hard & interesting; FUN, job😉
Aepek looks are deceiving. It’s very physical job. I do the same work and am exhausted at the end of the day
Joe Gosselin not deceiving at all....looks very hard & demanding work, was just saying that hanging from a crane’s ball 40+ ft in air looks fun. Not to many jobs where one can do that & kinda feel “free” overlooking everyone.
Appreciate the comment, & hope stay safe out there on your sites. Cheers✌🏼
Aepek one definitely feels free when flying through the air and 60-100 in the air. No other feeling like it.
Nice video, and I would like to hear his story/tips as well. One thing I want to throw out there is that Clogger is made in New Zealand and NOT Australia. Sorry but cant let them take that one from NZ!
Ooooh good to know! Thanks for that clarification
I really want to become a climber. I love climbing trees, chainsawing, and rigging! Would like to get into the business.
I climb, if you do enjoy ( i love climbing) , but just remember, respect the tree and its height, and respect your gear. If your operating a saw in the canopy , 2 HANDS . ALWAYS. No exceptions! Oh and minimum 2 tie in points at all times preferably 3 , 4 , or even 5
You’ll enjoy my channel then.
Just apply to ground positions, bigger companies will move people up quicker as far as climbing goes and supply all the gear.
If the tree is properly trimmed around those power lines what is the reason for removal? Since it provides so much shade.
Cottonwoods are horrible trees to have around the house or lines. Shallow roots and they like to rot real bad, bad combo when they get that big.
