  • This cotton wood split around a High voltage power. We had to shut down the road and bring in a crane because a large portion of the tree hung directly over a house. Nothing easy about this job-so its perfect for a UA-cam video! You'll get birds eye view in the tree, on the clam trunk, and hanging from the crane.

I am 57 and about 3 years ago I started climbing I bought a cheaper saddle and then bought the tree motion like he was wearing it is so comfortable. You can sit in it, roll side to side and even hang upside down. I am slowly getting most of the stuff I need to do removals but I just like to climb my tree's prune them when needed I climb single rope mostly to get up in the canopy. It is as easy as climbing a ladder. I do removals for friends they to the clean up. I live in Western MA. so it is mostly hard woods. Some conifers. I am to old and beat up to start a business I have a severe back condition. But my back doesn't bother me with that saddle and hanging from a rope. You can do anything with a rope except push something!! Great video Stan!!

FINALLY! I've been preaching it for a while but learn from a certified arborist! Textbook perfect removal, every member of that crew knew exactly what was going on at all times. Chainsaw pants, Helmets, sena Bluetooth headsets, Protree knows what's up! Also, another guy I'd tell you to interview is Dave with topnotch attachments (Made in Minnesota to) super smart guy that was the first certified arborist in the state of Minnesota back in the '90s, he's doing pretty dam well with his attachments selling like hotcakes!

Yes , its def an art form, and very very dangerous. Along with landscaping my company provides tree service. I don't have their machinery lol ( some days wish i did) but i climb , have been for a long time, and i always say with first hand experience, arboriculture is 50% big balls and 50% calculated physics 😁

Pucker factor of 6 at most. The tree was alive, there were safe tie-ins, that was a house drop not a primary, and it was reachable with a crane. Change all those variables and you have a 10. Great video though. Appreciate your arborist videos as I mentioned to you at GIE 2018. Keep them coming. Clogger zeros are amazing pants. I have had mine for a year and a half with hardly any wear.

When it comes to this trade Stan, the more interesting questions and angle you should approach is the tradesman. Roping and rigging a big tree job is a 30 part video in of itself. Who cares about the pants? I know a gear focused channel like this i get it.

Great video. It's one of the few I've watched on youtube that didn't make me cringe when I see someone doing dangerous activities at a tree job. Those guys are real pros. I own a tree service myself. We have our own grove crane, grapple truck, chippers, bucket truck, mini skid, dump truck, etc. Folks don't realize how expensive all that equipment is to really operate efficiently. It's not hard to end up with $300K worth of equipment at a job site.

great video , about the V cut .. over the years or traditional cuts , arborist of all skill level would just cut through the pieace that was being lifted out with a Crain . the miss fortune of many was the load would , slide and twist do to the weight of the load and the straps streching even a few inches , could cause serious injury. Know from experience. often guys wold use chain but its heavy , cumbersome . so a few guys figured out that the V cut was more safe regardless of movement when being hoisted.. as the videos shows there was some twisting but the arborist was in no immediate threat ..

    • @cloommeansglutin7130
      @cloommeansglutin7130 4 роки тому +1

What do they do with all of the brush if they are not chipping it? Do they take it to a tub grinder?

Road restrictions in MN, what months? Is it a winter restriction on commercial vehicles? Is it weight related? I lived in ND for a bit, but didn't do any commercial driving, so this is new to me. Thank you!

I know how you feel I have a cotton wood by my house that needs to go, but its not on my property so I cant really do much about it. They are the worst tree ever messy the cotton fluff ruins summer I just hate them in general lol!

Joe Gosselin not deceiving at all....looks very hard & demanding work, was just saying that hanging from a crane’s ball 40+ ft in air looks fun. Not to many jobs where one can do that & kinda feel “free” overlooking everyone.
Appreciate the comment, & hope stay safe out there on your sites. Cheers✌🏼

Aepek one definitely feels free when flying through the air and 60-100 in the air. No other feeling like it.

I climb, if you do enjoy ( i love climbing) , but just remember, respect the tree and its height, and respect your gear. If your operating a saw in the canopy , 2 HANDS . ALWAYS. No exceptions! Oh and minimum 2 tie in points at all times preferably 3 , 4 , or even 5

Just apply to ground positions, bigger companies will move people up quicker as far as climbing goes and supply all the gear.

If the tree is properly trimmed around those power lines what is the reason for removal? Since it provides so much shade.

    • @StinkyPete69

Cottonwoods are horrible trees to have around the house or lines. Shallow roots and they like to rot real bad, bad combo when they get that big.
