Commonly known as 'can't see me suits' but since they are now made in China, everyone can see them. I thought his beret looked odd and if was in the Navy and joined Commando selection and failed he'd go back to the Navy. By saying he went to Kapooka tells me he thinks he's a regular and Commandos are reservists. SAS are regulars. "I pulled this out of the cupboard this morning" What? Does he think his flag patch jumps from shoulder to shoulder during the night and they all play hooky in the cupboard?

For anyone wondering what happened after...
"Police inquiries with the Australian Defence Force confirmed the 41-year-old Ashmore man had been discharged from the army in July last year and had only served as a recruit for two months.
Sen-Sgt Reid said RAP had also spoken with the Navy who confirmed he had also never been a clearance diver.
The man’s uniform was seized by police and he has been charged under the Commonwealth Criminal Code for impersonating a Commonwealth Officer, a charge that holds a maximum penalty of two years in jail.

It's not the same in Aus, you are given a number after enlisting. It's actually called a PmKeys number now, not a service number, though people who enlisted prior to Pmkeys would also have a service number. If this member was still serving but discharging he would still have his Army photo ID with PmKeys number on it until the last time he drives out the barracks gate. Being in uniform with no ID is an immediate give away and (maybe?) an offense under the DFDA.

    1. "Navy Clearance Diver" "Commando" - they NEVER say "I was just a grunt with a pack and an SLR trudging through the desert mate"
    2. "Service number?" trips them up every time. EVERYTHING you do, every bit of paper, every form, it's all done with your service number. You repeat it so often it becomes tattooed behind your eyelids. Mine was over 40 years ago and I recall it with zero hesitation. It's the same for anyone who has served, no matter how short a time.

Hell, I don't think our police have enough APC's with how many gangs are armed with stolen military surplus. The MS13 kills soldiers in El Salvador and steals M16's and hand grenades and brings them back to the U.S. And they have about 30,000 active members. Do you realize how big that is? True Story-I would like to thank this channel for pointing me in the right direction. I had a very abusive stepfather who claimed he was a POW in WW2. I never believed him as when he got drunk he would tell conflicting stories. I was watching one of your videos & i stumbled upon a website that outed people who were stealing soldiers identitys. Through speaking with a researcher from this website he found the grave site of the real soldier who passed away in 2017. I checked the service record number & my stepfather was using the same record number. He had stolen this soldiers identity from a very young age. My stepfather had never been in the army. Every ANZAC day i had to watch him march down the streets of Sydney with all these medals that the real soldier had earned or most likely purchased from a collector. The surviving members of the unit had either 2 or 3 medals. My stepfather had 19!!!!
I have contacted the Police & they are looking at charging him with various counts of Fraud, stolen identity & many various charges. One of his biggest mistakes was he wrote a book telling his BS stories of being a POW & being a mastermind of attempted escape of attempts. My goal is to have the appropiate medals returned to his family. I have always believed in Karma & hopefully he will spend the rest of his life in a prison Infirmary.

@@Dang00TheAlien Yes Dan, He has been charged with 34 counts of Fraud, Stolen Identity, Tax Evasion, Welfare Fraud & obtaining financial gain by deception in making proceeds from his book of lies he had printed. Heis looking at between 8-12 years in Prison. he will die in prison. It took a lot of investigation but here is the backstory. He did sign up for the Infantry when the ship came to take the troops to Cairo, Egypt he ran to the hills rather than be a man & fight for his country. Until the 1973 under the Department of Defence Act it says "No soldier will be executed except for 4 breaches. 1) Dereliction of Duty, 2) Runnibg away & fighting for the enemy , 3) Espionage &4) Going absent without leave. Knowing full well he was facing a death sentence he needed to steal someones identity. He chose the identity of a actual soldier, used his, name, date of birth, service number , everything. He literally became a double of this person & since 1945 he would tell all his fake stories to his friends or anybody who would listen to him. He became a Paedophile. Because of the shame of being a coward & therefore not feeling like a true man he would rape young boys between 4-12. This is how he would reclaim his power by raping little innocent, defenceless children. I pray that there is a heaven & hell as i really hope he suffers in the after life but i have been assured that he will suffer in Prison as in Australia we all know what happens to Pardpophiles in prion. Not even gangs in prison will offer them protections. It's being a long journey but at last he will pay the price he deserves. All his medals in his posession have being seized & the appropiate medals sent to the real soldiers surviving family. Hope he rots in hell for eternity.

I don't know what the fine is, but if I would prove someone impersonating, I would report him and whatever happens happens. Because this is fucked up and dishonorable and these assholes deserve to stand infront of firing squad or if you want more "humane" execution(firing squad is the most humane in my opinion), electric chair. And not ten years later, they should be shocked right away. And with dry sponge(Green Mile). I would realy struggle not to bust their teeth in these situations. I have too much dignity and respect for serviceman, police(I don't like having police around me at any time, even if it is just my neighbour son and in civil, just asking me to help him with something, I just don't like them) and ambulance to do such thing. But I am volunteer firefighter and so is half of my family and hopefuly I will also serve the army next year. I was in volunteer service, but I fucked up after that. What I've been seeing with most americans who put up their "stolen valor" videos, it is of them chasing the person down and screaming their head off; the sort of behavior I would never associate with the military.

+Mick Brudon I know for a fact, australian, british, and even russian military would act the same as US troops, because its extremely offensive no matter where you are from to throw on an unearned uniform, take advantage of people and play pretend while those that really serve went through so much shit to be able to even have one patch or stripe, most have lost close friends who were in that very same uniform when they died, and were buried in they're dress blues. Its about as offensive as a racial slur to most people, which usually ends in some yelling and possible violence (not too often though, mostly yelling)

I was in the Cadets a good while ago. Several Cadets (these were recruits, however) frequently put the patches on wrong. They were 2 fingers below the seam (when they were supposed to be 1 finger below the seam) and the Cadet Patch on the KFF was upside down (they had the blue pointing downwards).
Of course, this is a bunch of young teenagers as opposed to a grown man.

    • @fr0zenpurple607
      @fr0zenpurple607 8 років тому +7

About three years ago i was a cadet (army) for about 4 years, reached WO2 and eventually got bored, but what you're saying is completely true. I'm now serving as a reservist Here in SA and through cadets you couldn't even expect proper blousing let alone patches sewn properly or a KFF ironed flat, but the cadets are not a military organisation, they're a leisure activity relative to the scouts that runs along "military lines" so don't expect anything even close to military standard haha.
Had a case where a new cadet (recently passed out from recruit to cadet) was spotted hanging out at a skate park just up the road from the unit wearing full DPCU two weeks in a row, third week platoons were advised that we had a kit check that night and the young cadet was spotted yet again hanging out at this park wearing full DPCU and webbing. The CO personally went and collected the cadet and was promptly removed from the unit that night.
Though i had fun in my years as part of the cadets i wouldnt say theyre the most accurate representation for our military.
I have some questions though because im curious, what branch (army, Air Force, Navy), unit and state were you in at the time, ive heard different standards in different states.

He is 100% genuine. I served with him up in Inuktitut at the waste fired site there. He was a rookie.

This guy is legit, I served with him in the Imperial Legion for the battle of Skyrim. Death to the Stormcloaks!
