HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!
I was not a fan of your earlier videos but this series has really changed my opinion. Thank you for making the world a smaller place. I look forward to your future ones.
Howdy from Texas. I never miss a video. This is my favorite thing on youtube. Beautiful food and people, I'm so jealous of your trips. I would love to visit China.
I love how patient the guy at the beginning is! I wish everyone would have travel encounters like that. What a friendly and generous man for being willing to share his talent.
GodsCommand you dont seem to understand the concept of Chinese. to you, the only Chinese are the han chinese. unfortunately, i met many han nationalists that think that way. it is wrong and incorrect. even among han chinese, there are many subgroups. when I first started to study about china, i thought any group that use hanzi as their script, were han Chinese. however, some ethnic minorities in yunnan also use hanzi as their writing scripts, but their languages more burmese-tibetan than sino-tibetan.
Hur Guler xinjianh isnt the most fascinating area in the world。there are many nationalities in the north china. you can eat russian mongolian muslim korean food and northern food
These are such awesome, REAL food travel videos! Congrats! I think it would be interesting for you to compare deep, deep China with some of the more modernized, mainstream places to see the differences in people, food, etc.
Trevor ….is showing the actual world and its people through his very popular videos……how they are actually living and behaving in everyday life……not what the politicians or the other medias project how they want it to be. Addicted to your videos. All the best! for more of the world through FOOD RANGING….
Love your videos!! I never knew these places existed! American education needs to step their geography game up because ur videos are so educational and youre so polite and well mannered as well! Always look forward to your videos
Most American don't even know what continent the Middle East is in (Asia), In fact most still thing China is only consist of Han people and all of China is just like East China.
if by 'American education' you mean 'every country's education' then sure. Chinese are very ignorant about stuff outside China. Europeans ignorant about stuff outside Europe. Same with africans, middle easterners, indians, americans...
by american education, i meant american american american education as in the 50 states in the United States of America. i don't know how it is for other countries
The people are so beautiful. The lil chubby baby looked so adorable. The video was a bit long but i dint even think twice to watch it to the end in HD. It was truly amazing journey.
Do you ever get used to people just staring at you in complete aw? I love the surprise in their eyes when you start to speak Chinese, it's fantastic! Love your vlogs!
Mate a month ago I dissed you for the repetitive szechuan videos. For which I apologize. This was genuinely the first time I have seen this area. Great informative video. Thank you.
Wow, i just finished watching 30-60 min. of your content with my mother. And here you uploading as we just finished that last video. Keep it up, you are my favorite youtuber!
I didn't knew China had a such huge Muslim Population and they are too famous for food. We get a lot of negative news about China and its oppression of its Muslim Population. But Thx Trevor now these places are on my to visit list. Awesome tour and very good series.
You need to understand that China, being such an enormous country (Bordering Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam) is culturally diverse, home to 56 different ethnic groups. Out of all these 56-strong people, 10 have a faith in Islam. Uyghurs (维吾尔族) Kazakhs (哈萨克族) Kyrgyz (柯尔克孜族) Uzbeks (乌兹别克族) Salars (萨拉族) Tatars (塔塔尔族) Bonans (保安族) Dongxiangs (东乡族) Tajiks (塔吉克族) Hui (回族)
Thank you for the Awesome Silk Road Videos. One question for Ting Ting.... How hard it is for you to shoot such a nice videos while Trevor is enjoying on all these Delicious food ?!! 🙂
Ganaria Gente yes, I love the way cumin is used in so many of their bbq meats. Xinjiang is definitely the most exotic and underrated place in China, I hope to hear more the food and people
i've watch your videos every night, they are awesome , I love the way you are so loving food but most importanly how you accept different cultures, I'm now your biggest fan
This part of China is beautiful. I'd only want to visit this part. They look Afghan, Uzbek Kurdistan and maybe Azerbaijan. Amazing how diverse China is!
Uyghur who are Karluk Turks. Related to other Turkic people and that include Uzbek who they are similar with, they interbreed with an indo-European group in ancient times which is why many Uyghur look exotic. China has 56 ethnic groups including the main Han. Each have their own languages and cultures. Han is the largest group in China, follow by the Zhaung.
China is amazing for this fact! I only eat chicken, lamb, fish (and pork - though I believe this region doesn't eat pork). My DNA says I have some percentage of Western & Central Asia, Caucasus and mainly East Asia and my family is Hakka - we were never told about Bhuddism but we are Catholics. Congrats to China though for its diversity!! Awesome!
So good to know that as these are awesome people - but I read in the papers a while back that China wanted just the Han people there. I hope that's not the case!! It's good to have diversity in a country as it brings respect and prosperity.
Found this channel not too long ago. You, my friend, have the perfect recipe. You make a 20 min long video feel like a 2 min video. They are raw in a sense that they feel so real and genuine. Keep doing such a great job!
백두산 - His ratings and comments and analysis don't help me any because I can't go there to eat it for myself... So it really makes no difference if he hates it and gives it a 1 or loves it and gives it a 10. I do love watching the cooking part and the interactions... But I am dying of food jealousy. I wish I could travel and eat all of the different things all day.
If you’re loving this Silk Road street food series playlist, let me know below, I hope you’re enjoying it! This vid is packed with classic Xinjiang food! This is one of the most unique and beautiful places I’ve been in China, there really is so much delicious food! You can follow my Instagram for more photo updates of our street food journeys: instagram.com/thefoodranger Thanks so much for watching :) Hope you're doing well!
Yeah, in my part of the US, getting something similar to his last meal (in both size and quality) would cost me around $45. I also would not have gotten to meat the chefs or see the food before/as it is prepared.
There's no overhead when you run a little tent shack with nothing else in the in the middle of nowhere compared to a high rent metropolitan area with all of the utilities, advertising, salaries, and cost of living for competitive wages for workers, that you need to pay out to stay in business. Don't forget also, add in the cost of airfare and hotels and travel to get to that $2 bowl of noodles and you will see maybe $12 for a bowl of ramen in NYC isn't too bad now that the China noodles are $2,002.
That is privileges of developed nations citizen that cant be enjoyed for the rest of the world citizens. Not to mention that they can also go around half around the world without Visa.
Yes, I'm waiting for you to upload video, I hope you will be able to visit my hometown(Henan Province) in the future, there are a lot of food different from other parts of China.
AMAZING! Trevor, your are a great Canadian food and friendship ambassador to China. I am so proud of you my friend. Cheers from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
When I lived in Kashgar 25 years ago, I really loved the Nan bread with onions. I didn't try the lamb because at the time I was vegetarian! Xinjiang is an amazing place!
I paused the video in the middle, ran out to get some momo's in the blizzardy rain, bought some chopsticks and started watching the video again, struggling with the chopstics! Cheers from India!

12:28 Chubby baby was the best part of the video.
The guy baking the bread was so nice! Handsome, too!
***** I don't think he's ethnically Chinese (though he probably has Chinese citizenship). :)
the chinese ppl faces you have in mind is Han Chinese, this guy is Uyghur Chinese. China has 56 ethnicities.
Rick R That's so interesting. I didn't know that! I have to do some research now.
Revina Que I thought that too. Good looking and so so humble
This video just opened up a new side of China for me. The diversity is just amazing!
Who thinks Xinjiang is the most fascinating area in the world? It's the crossroads of civilizations.
Hur Guler xinjianh isnt the most fascinating area in the world。there are many nationalities in the north china. you can eat russian mongolian muslim korean food and northern food
Bru ce in ancient times the north was desstitute
These are such awesome, REAL food travel videos!
Congrats! I think it would be interesting for you to compare deep, deep China with some of the more modernized, mainstream places to see the differences in people, food, etc.

Spaghetti and pasta actually did originate in China.👍My husband is Sicilian and our Italian friends say it all the time. Buon appetito!🙂
Michelle and Enzo's Adventures How about Couscous ? you have that in Sicily !
couscous originated by north african Muslims (Moroccans, Libyans, Tunisians .. etc)
Michelle and Enzo's Adventures and the nang bread is actually the original or pizza, a Italian priest learned it and brought it to Italy. Chinese food culture is uncompetitive, amazing, more than we could imagine........
iLord
uncompetitive? maybe you mean cannot be compared.
Michelle and Enzo's Adventures
i just feel that spaghetti is too chewy, at least those from usa

are they kiddin' me?,,, those street food using saffron as the seasoning,,, you know how pricely a pinch of saffron in western market?,,, like a gold,,, it's only used in michelin star fine dining restaurants in here, in the west,,, with hundred and thousand dollars bill a plate,,,, but,, they're using it in cheap street food,,, what a hillarious!!!!!
It's counterfeit saffron. :\ You can see the dye bleeding in the tea.
gaiachaos2000 think you never drink tea,the color of the tea depends on the leaf.and many kinds of flowers maybe like saffron.you are a rumormonger.
That's the cheap bad stuff.
Good Saffron is quite expensive.
30RMB (4USD) for 1g.
And within 1g saffron you can make many many dishes.
Maybe you should buy some from China if you like it.

These videos are so addictive to watch. And although some of these foods seem strange to a British person, they also make me feel hungry. I'd love to travel and try new things like he does

How did you learn Chinese so well? I've been studying for 4 years now and plan on someday going to China, but I can see how long of a road I have before I can speak like you. Any tips?
Go to the country first and you will learn it super fast there.
Manuel Mendoza My sister enrolled at a university offering Chinese lessons in Taiwan. She came back a year later knowing how to read and write lol. Immersion is the fastest way to learning
