This has the same views as a video you posted 2 months ago, this is my first one I’m seeing but I love to see the organic growth
Tyler can't be considered the Kanye of our generation because they are basically part of the same generation.
Kanye's first album came out in 2004 and he got really popular later that year. Kanye is still going strong now, and he dropped arguably the album of the year in 2021 with Donda.
Tyler's first big album came out in 2011, and that's when he got really popular. Similarly he's dropped one of his best albums yet in 2021 with Call Me.
2004-2022 vs 2011-2022
They have existed together in mainstream hip hop by now (11 years) for longer than the period that only Kanye was famous first (7 years)
On top of that I don't feel that the two are very similar. Tyler has had more of a unique individual style throughout his career while Kanye has pretty much been the zeitgeist (especially for the first half of his career).
I subscribed to curiosity but i cannot find the video! Is it because I'm from Italy?
@@suchende419 it is on nebula, through the bundle! You should have an email with more info on how to get the bundle
@@Volksgeist Thank you! Great work 💌
Tyler isn't Kanye; he's Tyler. I can't stress enough how vital artistic and creative freedom is. We shouldn't box people into these categories; it's only going to hurt our expectations of them in the long run.
True Big True Exactly Big Dick Energy
You said all that like being compared to Kanye is a bad thing & beyond that Tyler already proved he can't be boxed in. Lmfao 💀💀
Watch the video buddy 💀
Yeah it’s a stupid title for clickbait....
The term "Kanye" means more than just the person/artist
Tyler perfectly summarizes his discography on the song WHAT'S GOOD in the line "New album, no repeat, I reset". Every album is so vastly different from each other and he somehow never misses. Very excited to see Tyler's next works, great video
Cherry bomb, not the album, the song cherry bomb was ass
i mean everything before cherry bomb is a miss tbh but you can see him generating ideas that he’d flesh out later. he also got into the industry younger than kanye did. not so much younger, but enough for it to make a huge difference. consider him saying on massa “at 23 that’s when puberty finally hit me”, which is ab when he was working on cherry bomb. ofc i dont think he’d find the same notoriety if he started later though so i’m glad he put those records out anyway.
Hmm idk man he’s extremely good but unlike Kanye I don’t like every Tyler album. Every fan I know personally from Tyler including myself didn’t liked Igor that much tbh.
@@shayshayshayshayshayshayshay dude what are you talking about Wolf and Bastard are top 3
@@shayshayshayshayshayshayshay wolf and bastard aren’t misses tbh, they’re good
i have no doubt tyler will hav a legendary discography
Already does ppl just ain't tapped in
@@rasheedsaibu4147 its great but for legendary, i feel he needs like 3-4 more solid albums
@@DatDaDatty by that logic nas doesn't have a legendary discog cause he only has 3-4 classics. Tyler is arguably a top 3 hip hop artist ever (not rapper)

Bro I have had three seperate UA-cam accounts over the past like five years and I've seen you everywhere, even on some music I like.
i wouldnt really compare their music, but they both have the themes of originality, self disipline, and carefulness of their work.
Exactly, I don’t like the comparison. I love Kanye, but I think comparing Tyler to Kanye takes credit away from Tyler. I don’t think Tyler would think he’s god, and I don’t think Kane would eat a roach
@@kingray6246 kanye doesn’t think he’s god and they literally said that same lyric…kanye is a legend he has the beat discography in hiphop learn history
@@moggingyou The roach vs God part was a joke to show the difference in personality. Kanye does have a legendary discography, I’m not fucking retarded. I’m not saying Tyler is as accomplished as Kanye. I am saying we shouldn’t compare artists, they’re both great at their own thing.
I think it’s disrespectful to Kanye. I don’t think Tyler would ever consider himself to be on the same level let alone better than Kanye. Tyler wouldn’t make Twisted Fantasy or Yeezus or go millions of dollars in debt to fund a journey to change fashion. Comparing Tyler to Kanye is comparing student to master. Lady Gaga is innovative but will never come close to Michael. Crowns for Kings.
@@kingray6246 tyler called himself a god on smuckers lol
was skeptical about this topic, but the way you layed it all out was very well done. love this take
yo llusion
Tyler once said he wanted to write pop music, and that’s all he wanted to do (back in the Flower Boy commentary). His love for chords and melodic phrases and fashion brought him to this point. It’s no wonder his career path mirror’s his idol and mentor, Pharrell.
I think his vision is to crack open the music landscape like P did in the late 90s and 00’s with artists like Brittany Spears, Snoop, and Jay but with artists like JB and Kali Uchis
(P.S. Kanye also had his moments in pop music, with Beyoncé, Janet Jackson, and Drake which looked a lot like what Pharrell and Q-Tip were doing)
I see Tyler as a sort of more artsy, niche Kanye. Kanye got his start creating more traditional hip hop with a very bold flare on the production end. He was also close with Jay Z from the start, and from The College Dropout forward, everyone was tuning in. Kanye's music is very easy to enjoy (for the most part,) yet it's still complex and incredibly well made. Contrasting that with Tyler- the boy was producing from garage band and writing about serial killing and rape from his grandma's couch. His brand for the first leg of his career was being the last thing that was gonna catch on in the mainstream. But Tyler had the interests that are flourishing now-fashion, film, unique production. All of these things had time to grow and mature with him. Now, Tyler is thirty. He's mature and experienced. And, for contrast, Kanye was 33 when he made Dark Fantasy. Personally, I think by the end of Tyler's career, his influence may not be as widespread, but certainly as impactful.
Woah, that was a lot. Thanks for reading if you did.
Great take
I am so happy for Tyler. I was always told I was the weird kid for listening to Odd Future and early Tyler work. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine he’d be popular and rise to this level.
Lmao my niggaz clowned me back in the day when i was bumpin bastard & goblin 😂😂😂 i basically grew up with this dude and to see his evolution over the years has been a dope experience
I like his music and I don’t care if other people like me or his music, cause nobody’s opinion matters but your own
@Tack Draas he ain’t wrong though
Tyler is Tyler. You can’t compare him to anything. He doesn’t fit in just one genre of music or even art. He quite literally does it all and does it better than anyone I’ve ever seen before. He is the definition of the GOAT.
I think the main difference between the two is that Kanye really believes he is trying to change the world with what he does, while Tyler just does what the fuck he likes 😂
They have different intentions and those intentions guide their artistic work
3:35 Jay versace is also credited on the last track, furthermore the beat for sir Baudelaire is was produced by conductor Williams and originally used by westside gunn. Nonetheless awesome production job by Tyler that entire album
bruh we gotta protect tylers mom at all costs
no
lol hi
No to Kanye, definitely agrees. Tyler’s definitely got the creative edge. Kanye is just a media puppet
@@cranklabexplosion-labcentr8245 How is Kanye a media puppet? And between the two, Kanye is arguably more genius.
@@cranklabexplosion-labcentr8245 bruh
@@justchilling704 Yes Kanye calls himself a genius. He must be one, and we must follow like good sheep 🤷♂️
There is nobody like Kanye and there is nobody like Tyler. They are both unique to themselves
I will say you were wrong when you said “ Tyler never wanted chart topping hits” because he actually did and he legit cried when he heard a song of his on the radio for the first time because he never thought it would happen because of his subject matter.
Yeah and the fact he wanted a grammy which is a popularity/woke contest
I gotta say Volkgeist always making classic and timeless content
Bro the editing has leveled up to new heights bro this shit just looks straight BEAUTIFUL
He is not the Kanye of our generation,
He is the Tyler the creator of our generation
I must complement your editing style, as I can tell you put a lot of work into it!
Thanks!
People saying "we shouldn't compare this with that" really decided to turn their brains off. We all know they're who they are. They may not have followed the same path, but they have the same destination , "greatness with authenticity". Deny that Ye and Pharell paved the way for Tyler is pure dishonesty. Tyler almost checked the same boxes that Kanye did. It's just a different time.
thank you, guys are choosing to be close minded here
I understand what you're saying. But comparing almost always turns to competition. So it's better to see artist as simply themselves. They may be similar.. but they are their own person with their own style.
Tyler is great! But in no way does he have the same global outreach that Kanye has or had during his graduation record. Those era songs by Kanye had massive impact. He might be on the way there though but at the current moment no way
that was exactly his point?
This is a sick vid! Animations go crazy!!
Personally, I think to be the next Kanye, one would have to see their style and influence reflected in the rest of the industry.
And if that's what we're talking about, then Tyler just isn't there yet.
When Kanye dropped MBDTF, everyone went for a grand cinematic sound. When he did Watch The Throne, the game was awash with dance intermissions and street goth fashion. When he did Yeezus, everyone went industrial, transgressive and nocturnal.
While Tyler has dropped four spectacular albums since 2015, I don't really see that many artists following him down the rabbit hole or his sonic evolution.
Maybe not in the mainstream scene of music fully but you can't deny his influence on a lot of the underground artist starting from 2015 like icytwat, Carti, Divine council, etc
Well said sir
I love them both but comparing the two is super insane... Not only was Kanye great with his own music but he influenced & produced other artists albums, from back then until today
tyler is tyler and kanye is kanye, two different artists
the only real parallels you can draw is their success
Facts bruh
No you cannot lmao kanyes first album sold more than tylers most popular
@@sk8brdkee Ye has that as well.
@@sk8brdkee kanye has surpassed tyler in that decades ago literally what are you on about
tyler is in his own lane, not only from kanye but from rap in general. this man is a certified genius. but i think the artist that shares the most similarities to kanye's come up or the so called "next kanye" is p'ierre bourne. the totally innovative and fresh production, he's still underrated as a rapper and still isn't seen as a rapper in most respects but is starting to get the recognition he deserves.
We dont need to validate Tyler's success and talent buy comparing him to an extremely different artist.
We don’t need to talk about him or listen to him either but here we are
He is gonna influence so many artists in this new generation, i guess is fair if some people call him the ''next'' kanye
Aye video editing is mad, great stuff 🔥
This video was a vibe to watch

It makes me so mad that ppl just forgets about Bastard when talking about Tyler discography smh

It’s literally better than GOBLIN, so it should definitely be mentioned
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER KANYE.EVER

This video was outstanding. Thank you for creating this.
Also can you put a list of all the songs in this video?
both have can have a hardcore and soft side. both are amazing producers. amazing lyricists. almost perfect discography’s. tyler has that outgoing and bold personality like ye. both are extremely artistic when it comes to music. if kanye should pass the torch to anyone it should be tyler or carti
Carti for real??
@@gibsyking2 ☠️
Bro carti dont fit in...
Even though they can be compared; considering their uniqueness against hip-hop, both of them want to stand out and be known in their own created world and style.
Truly great video!
loved this video
Their career trajectories are way too different to compare. Like Kanye made the rap equivalent of Nirvana’s Nevermind with college dropout, then proceeded to shift the culture two more times with 808s and Yeezus. Tyler’s a great artist but I just don’t think he’s the cultural force that Kanye has proven to be. Even outside of music Kanye put on Virgil Abloh who’s probably one of the most influential creatives of the last decade period, and has just cultivated more general influence. Like every other week I see somebody wearing Yeezys.
tyler is tyler, a legend within himself
Great comparison and analysis
Tyler's the new Pharrell.
tyler is tyler they will be no one like him nor him being a next to something he is his own legacy, if you compare both artists discography and sound they are completely different and unique from each other, I love them both and even if tyler might have been inspired by kanye, there is tons of artists that he looks up to and uses their influence to create his own sound and it is amazing
I remember this being something I would randomly think of in the shower or in the middle of class and now theres a whole video about that nice
9:44 well he had, he literally has a video of him crying while listening to see u again on the radio and said its what he wanted since he was a kid, he knows he doesnt make radio music but he still wanted that
Yes except he's a nice positive guy, a great troll and I appreciate that he wears different shoes.
And hats than most rappers
I see you know him personally
Video so polished dang son

I been thinking this !!
Tyler is his own artist, as everyone has been saying in the comments - but if we were to compare him to another artist, Pharrell would be much more apt than Kanye in my opinion.
Not just because Tyler is an unapologetic super fan of P and The Neptunes, but because their APPROACHES are eerily similar to one another. If you watch Pharrell interviews, especially older, early 2000's ones - it's really apparent how similar him and Tyler are when it comes to what they get out of music and they how they translate that into their own work.
They are both artists who prioritize feel more than anything and translating that feeling into their own music. I feel they are not as hyper-concerned with pushing boundaries or being experimental as Kanye is, or at least their need to recreate a certain feeling can sometimes supersede their need to create something entirely unique. Now, don't get me wrong - P and Tyler both make music which sounds nothing like the contemporaries, Tyler especially - but I feel that this isn't necessarily the driving force behind a lot of his creative endeavors as opposed to Kanye (at least that's the feeling I get).
I can kind of understand the Kanye and Tyler comparison from a career path and cultural impact angle, but as far their music is concerned, they live in the same ecosystem but are nowhere near as cut from the same cloth as Tyler and Pharrell - those two are like kindred spirts.
I also think that, while Pharrell has produced tracks that have become mainstream hits, his popularity as a singular figure never reached the heights of someone like Kanye. Like Tyler, P was more popular among niche audiences (at least prior to P's more mainstream solo successes in the early 2010's with Happy and Get Lucky). I would even say that Tyler has even become more popular at his age as a public figure than Pharrell ever was at the same age, but again, neither have the cultural cache that Kanye has (which is not a bad thing).
This comment needs to be *pinned*. I'm thinking about sending this vid to my friend that studies Pharrell, N.E.R.D., The Neptunes, & Tyler but I don't wanna get a rise out of her 😂☝🏽

no one can be the "next Kanye" as his name says, he is the "only one", Tyler can be really great but no one can be the next Kanye, there is no next Kanyes
i agree
bro i manifested this video earlier at work i was thinking about what’s the new ages closest thing to Kanye and tyler was the only answer that i could see . that’s insane
He surpassed him in style and creativity already
This is why I collect Golf Wang. If Tyler gets bigger than he is, Ima be the person with all the OG expensive stuff, before everyone else hops on. People are gonna flock and dig for the old merch and I’ll already have it
This is a good ass video. Great insight and analysis.
The reason Tyler has had so much success is because his music is authentic. He built a loyal fanbase through focusing on his craft, and not being pressured into sounding like other artists. He’s success continues to inspire me. Hopefully one day my music can touch the masses such as Tyler. But as for now I’m just happy being a fan
Tyler, like Kanye, has a pintoresque pallete of styles in his carreer, but i think Childish Gambino resembles the most of Kanye on his vision, he even calls himself "son of Kanye" (just saw a video about that topic yesterday), and even Kanye has recognized him as a "free thinker", but in the end, its better if we leave all artists show the best of themselves
that hat wearin u my boy
He ain't Kanye but he is filling in his place
volksgeist my goat
They are so different in many ways and i do not feel the need to compare the two.

Tyler isn't the next Kanye, he is the first Tyler
I really enjoy Tyler’s music especially when he first came out . He and Odd Future definitely set that bar and had a new sound that I hadn’t ever heard but they were like a Sex Pistols mixed Wu tang and the Butthole Surfers
No, Tyler is developing his own sound , so is every other artist that is making a stamp

@Volksgeist I have not watched the video yet + I am new to your channel but here or my thoughts anyways
Kanye is talented and created amazing music
Tyler is talented and creates amazing music
Tyler in his prime ( which I consider to be 2015 and the present) created a huge fan base that appreciates his talent and personality. he sales us the listeners/fan his emotional state and feelings and where he is at in life through his album's lyrics and instrumental. The moral of the story he is the creator of an introduction for something that we can be looking forward to hearing in rap more often.
Kanye In his prime (which I consider being 2004 till 2011) had a huge fan base who appreciates his talent and misunderstood personality mostly. He sold to us the listener/fan his emotional state and feelings and where he is at in life through the albums, in the end, he crafted an introduction for something that changed rap.
Those are similar it's like their life is copied and pasted with only a few minor differences and yeah it looks that way but between the similarities, the small minor difference is where the answer to the question is Tyler the creator the next Kanye west lie's Now I could compare the difference but there wouldn't be any need (+ I don't want to)
My conclusion of what I'm I'm trying to tell you the reader the answer is kinda yes and no because they are 2 different humans who aren't similar but share a lot In common which makes it difficult to answer yes or no anyways gonna look at po*rn while listening to this video.
Ooooo this is a good question.
"Listen deeper to the music before you put it in a box"
Short answer: No. Long answer: Nowhere near but he’s created a great lane for himself.
Dawg,Tyler is the creator,he’s nothing like Kanye I think his greatness absolutely amazing you can’t compare him to pretty much nobody.
I would not compare them in this way.
I think Tyler will be Tyler and Kanye will be Kanye like Cher is Cher and Gaga is Gaga and queen is queen. I just don’t think they should be compared because it’s not fair to say one will become the other as a timelapse because it’s the same genre and they’re both men who highly self promote and collaborate. Theres also the fact that Tyler was influenced by Kanye no doubt and maybe was inspired because who hasn’t heard something of Kanye and was rapping at Tyler’s age when he started. Tyler is similar to Eminem or even MFDoom with having an alter ego and talking in their voices then he does to Kanye’s intense beats, auto tune, and vocals and later gospel influence vs Tyler’s pianos and introspective lyrics contrasted to societal expectations. Kanye is godlike in thought and music and it’s chaotic and beautiful. Tyler is an artist who is still evolving his styles and being more fluid which means he may make things that are hit or miss and may still be bought out of collections. like cherry bomb still being sellable today out of wanting to watch the changes in his style over time at this point and merch. There’s an interactive aspect but it’s not going to be the numbers of Kanye or surpassing him, unless Tyler releases like Beatles level quality works
Tyler came up during the cloud era where Kanye BASEGOD and kid cudi so yeah they come from the same cloth
does anyone know the background music from 5:33 >, and no it's not linked in the description
Yes, next question
I’ve been saying that 🤞🏽✨
Why do y’all keep comparing artist it’s like comparing finger prints, we all got fingers but you got your own prints
I feel like Travis kinda already is tbh, he just hasn’t dropped an album in so long that people have forgotten his influence. Tyler is really his own thing.
no
Now watch when people start saying he lame or tired after a while of being in the limelight.
Remember when Tyler said that people will compare rappers to each other for no reason, cause this is exactly that
What's that instrumental playing through the video?
if i ever make a channel ur literally gonna b my biggest inspiration fucking love the content
I think he's just the first Tyler.
Kanye is Mozart and Tyler is Beethoven, different times but both are geniuses in music, and their creativity will influence new generations.
Crazy how you went Kanye and not Pharrell , Tyler clearly has more of a Pharrell production, musical and fashion style. He’s literally our generations Pharrell in every way. If anything I’d put Travis at the forefront for ye’s legacy
I think they’re just saying Tyler is the greatest solo rap artist/producer of our generation like Ye was
Answer to the thumbnail: no, but yes. Tyler in the scence of production and musical impact, has a very similar influence on how progressive and influential the way his production is "broadcasted" in a sence. Tyler takes "branched" not "direct" influence from kanye on his artistic career, but he's become so eccentric on how he produces his music it would almost be disrespectful in a sense to ironically make this comparison. Their so similar in the sense of their influence yet its so different. In the end tyler theroretically is kanye, but really is just tyler. Either way Tyler's legacy is going to last forever. My man is going to be in his 40s-50s still having creative impact I would say even at a high altitude then where he is currently. My man's projection is crazy.
